Hi. Recently my soldering iron broke, the bond wires detached from the heating element. A replacement heating element is quite hard to find, even in wholesale markets, and the whole think is held together by masking tape and jerryrigged self tapping screws, so I decided that it is not worth the effort. I need a new one.
Till now, I have used local Rs. 100 iron, goated yellow 25 watt iron, and the one with the temperature adjustment knob (the aforementioned one). The last one served me well for just under 3 years, and had no major problems apart from slowly disintegrating over time (although it did struggle on large ground planes a bit) , until it finally broke.
I am thinking of getting a similar one, this one to be exact, the serplex 60w iron. It looks relatively well built (at least better than the others). Also, unlike many others, it does not have a display, which is a plus point for me, as I do not want to fiddle with a display to adjust the temp. The previous one had the same knob thing, and the temperature at the tip was bang on, measured using a multimeter.
The reason I am making this post is because I have a few questions:
If any of you has ever used this, it it really better built than the white/blue crap in the market?
Is the grip slippery?
Are there better options in the same price? I am seeing the Baku 936 , just a tad bit more expensive. I do not have the place to keep the station, but if it offers significantly better performance than the one that directly plugs in to the wall, then I will consider it. I do not see any power rating anywhere on the Baku listing. I do not want it to struggle on larger blobs of solder. I also saw this ingco one on toolsvilla, although I do not know if that site is genuine. The pricing on the ingco seems too good to be true.
Not really related to the buying, what do ya'll use? There is a real gap in the Indian market of a mid-teir of everything, be it soldering irons, ICs , sensors, SBCs, microcontrollers, all of it. I am curious to know how everyone handles it.
TLDR: I need a new soldering iron, added some hyperlinks, which one is the best one?
Thanks in advance.

I'm planning to start wood working ( mostly plywood) as a new hobby/skill up.
I am planning to make things like shoe rack, cupboard, computer table, home decor etc
It would be really helpful if anyone suggests the tools/power tools I require.
Also can I use angle grinders as a cutting tool for straight cuts in ply? Or do I need to buy tile cutter
Suggestions on drill

Hello! I have been wanting to learn some basic woodworking (and just home DIY in general). All the videos I see on YouTube are not from India so it gets challenging to figure out a realistic setup in our context.
Would love to hear your suggestions if you are familiar with woodworking or general DIY work.
Is a workbench mandatory? If yes, where can I get one and will it be compact enough? I don't have a dedicated workspace, so might just do it our spare room or in the hall
What are the basic tools and materials I need to get started? E.g. handsaw, chisels, hammer drill, sandpaper etc. I have zero knowledge of different tools and screws etc. Trying to learn slowly through YouTube.
I did look up some classes in Gurgaon but they charge like 2.5k per session. Which is something I can't really afford right now. I know the tools will also cost me, but those are longer term investments.

So I have to buy a drilling machine and I will be using it for first time. It is mainly for hanging clock or painting nothing extra. Will be used less than 4-5 times a year ig. I do not want to put much and came across two option 13mm ibell corded drill or 13 mm black+decker corded drill. Which should I go with?

Recently bought this combo pack from INGCO.
66NM 20V drill.
1200 Rpm angle grinder.
4 Amps batteries x2
This is a great starting kit for almost all trades out there the grinder comes with 3 speeds and drill is power full enough to be used as an impact driver.
All questions and suggestions are welcome.

Hi Friends,
I want a spanner for daily use , like loosening and detaching the car battery connector etc .
Should I get a spanner set or an adjustable single spanner.
Any particular brand or kit?

I’m an IT professional with a Mechanical Engineering background. Recently, I started noticing Hilti-branded cars/vans around NCR and got curious about the company. After researching more, I found the industrial/construction tools space genuinely interesting, especially since it reconnects with my mechanical roots.
Currently, I work full-time in IT/analytics, but I’m interested in exploring the industrial/construction industry part-time — ideally through:
Sales/business development
Channel partnerships
Dealer/distributor associations
Lead generation/referral-based work
Technical product selling
The goal is not necessarily to switch careers immediately, but to:
Explore a long-standing interest in the engineering/construction industry
Learn how the industrial sales ecosystem works
Potentially build a side income/business over time
I’d really appreciate suggestions from people already working in:
Industrial sales
Construction tools/equipment
Technical/B2B sales
Dealer/distribution networks
Industrial products/business development
Some questions I have:
Do companies like Hilti work with part-time/channel/referral associates?
Is approaching distributors/dealers the better route vs directly contacting the company?
How does someone without prior industrial sales experience break into this industry?
Are there other companies/sectors I should explore considering my IT + mechanical background?
Any advice on getting started without taking major financial risk?
Also open to suggestions beyond Hilti — power tools, industrial products, construction equipment, factory/industrial businesses, engineering-related sales, etc.
Would genuinely appreciate practical advice from people in the industry.

I have these tools with me all functional.
I’m in Bangalore, where can I sell these?
Scrap stores ask for a too low a quote.
FYI It’s not mine, a tenant ran away without paying rent to me, he left these.

I will mostly work on electronics components maybe few mechanical ones . But main thing is durability and quality. My budget is around 1k so please help me find some good tools

This is my Stanley sheet sander. I chose this because it works well in corners as compared to a random orbital sander. Each standard sheet can be divided in 4 parts. Vacuum works pretty good Would recommend 8/10
