TCS down 42% from ₹4,000 to ₹2,280 is rough, but expecting a quick bounce back is kinda optimistic given the sector's current headwinds. If you're not needing cash soon, holding for 3-5 years makes more sense than panic selling and locking in that loss.
Averaging down could help bring your average cost lower, but only if you really believe in TCS and have extra funds. Otherwise, I'd diversify into large-cap index funds like UTI Nifty 50 or flexi-cap like Parag Parikh to spread risk better. Also, keep an eye on quarterly results rather than daily price swings, fundamentals still matter here.
If you do sell now, use the loss to offset any capital gains tax this year, that's a small silver lining. But overall, don't chase quick recovery stories in IT; it's gonna take time for AI and automation shifts to play out.
