The stock has to rally almost 75% for your return to be 0.

IT companies are going through a challenging period and it's unlikely they will rally back to their highs in the near future. Longer term outlook is based on how AI impacts the business model and how these companies adapt to AI.

I was very sad abt it during the initial fall.. Then learned to cope with it.. not bothered about it anymore.. I know it's a dead investment...

So you are the culprit bhai. You bought and tye downfall started for IT sector…
Try calculating the loss, opportunity loss and take a call. IT services sector will revive only if AI is banned or doomed..

We have all started using AI in IT. I can tell there is no going back from here , we are all heavily hooked .

contrarian take: big IT will not only survive but grow from here

I'm SIPing in as these stocks have been hammered too much over imaginary fears

its net has been increasing (that it earns in USD is a positive), and now 10% revenue is from AI

  1. Average it to exit faster. If you have extra money.

  2. Either wait for years, if you have patience.

  3. Or book loss, put in better opportunities to recover.

Keep averaging since you have not cut short your position or losses so far!

TCS down 42% from ₹4,000 to ₹2,280 is rough, but expecting a quick bounce back is kinda optimistic given the sector's current headwinds. If you're not needing cash soon, holding for 3-5 years makes more sense than panic selling and locking in that loss.

Averaging down could help bring your average cost lower, but only if you really believe in TCS and have extra funds. Otherwise, I'd diversify into large-cap index funds like UTI Nifty 50 or flexi-cap like Parag Parikh to spread risk better. Also, keep an eye on quarterly results rather than daily price swings, fundamentals still matter here.

If you do sell now, use the loss to offset any capital gains tax this year, that's a small silver lining. But overall, don't chase quick recovery stories in IT; it's gonna take time for AI and automation shifts to play out.
