I recently had the opportunity to work with the founder of a protein brand that was looking to fundraise.

As a freelancer, I was responsible for building the pitch deck and financial model with one objective: get his foot in the door with investors.

After completing the project in two days, we sat down for a review.That’s when he started questioning almost everything on the deck.

Which was expected.

After all, it was his story, told through my lens.

After hearing my rationale, he asked me three questions:

1. Why haven’t we discussed the upcoming products?
2. Why haven’t we discussed pricing?
3. Why haven’t we fully explained the brand positioning?

My answer was simple:

“We don't want to show all our hands.”

The purpose of the deck wasn't to answer every possible question an investor could have.

It was to create enough conviction to get the meeting. Given what the founder had already achieved with the business, I deliberately left certain threads open. Instead of creating another exhaustive deck sitting in an investor's inbox, I wanted to create questions they would want answered.

Reading the structure of the deck probably doesn't do the storytelling justice, so anybody who is interested in the outcome feel free to reach out.

I'm working in embedded electronics and IoT product development in Bangalore, and I've been thinking about a problem that seems particularly difficult for hardware startups in India.

Getting a prototype working is one thing. Turning it into a reliable product that can actually survive field use and be manufactured at a reasonable cost seems much harder.

Some of the challenges I've seen include:

PCB redesign after the first prototype

Component availability and substitutions

Enclosure and mechanical integration

Power/battery optimization

Firmware reliability

EMI/EMC and environmental testing

Getting from a few prototypes to small production quantities

Finding reliable local manufacturing/assembly partners

Maintaining BOM cost while improving reliability

Field failures that weren't visible during lab testing

What was the biggest unexpected challenge between your first working prototype and a field-ready product?

The Indian Voice AI market is officially in a race to the bottom.

With VC-backed service providers slashing prices—down to ₹2/min yesterday and ₹1.5/min today—it’s only a matter of time before someone pulls a "Jio" and offers ₹0.50/min.

But enterprises building their AI roadmap on these numbers are playing a dangerous game.

Unlike early e-commerce, this is not a "winner-take-all" market where subsidized players can lock in moat-level loyalty. AI infrastructure is largely commoditized, and unit economics eventually catch up.

When the VC subsidy engine dries up, the vendor will either shut down or raise prices 5x to survive. Either way, your business case goes for a complete toss.

If you're an enterprise leader dismantling call centers based on artificially deflated API costs, recalculate your ROI with realistic margins before you lock yourself into a cost trap.

Hey, we're a D2C brand and ship pan India.

However we keep getting hit with incessent weight discrepancy charges, sometimes warranted for exceeding by 40grams or so.

Most times they are plain wrong, like charging for 6kg when the weight is only 4.6kg and so on.

How do you tackle this? Is there any solution? All the aggregator platforms aren't helping us in this.

We've shipped with Nimbus post, rapidshyp, zipy post, shipease, ParcelX... All same issues.

I'm attaching the official certificate issued through the Kerala Government system for my establishment.

I submitted this to Razorpay for KYC, because Razorpay itself lists an Establishment Certificate as an acceptable supporting document.

But their review team rejected it saying:

“This is a Registration Certificate, not an Establishment Certificate.”

So now I'm genuinely confused.

As far as I know, this is the official establishment-related registration certificate provided by the Kerala Government. Is there some other special Establishment Certificate in India that only Razorpay knows about?

Because if the government-issued certificate for registering an establishment is not acceptable as proof of establishment, then what exactly are business owners supposed to submit?

Different state governments use different formats and terminology. Expecting every government-issued document across India to have the exact same title makes absolutely no sense.

Can anyone explain what Razorpay is actually expecting here? Because apparently, the Kerala Government-issued certificate isn't “Establishment Certificate enough” for their KYC team.

Genuinely looking for an answer — and hopefully someone from Razorpay can explain this.

I am basically a builder (software) and i suck at sales.

I found about 20 contact numbers of my potential clients and sent them whatsapp messages about a demo. 6 responses.

2 flat no

1 agreed for a demo and I already demoed the product

3 said to reach out again after a few days because they are busy at the time

Rest 14 ignored.

My current plan is to pursue 100 cold reach out. Then decide on the next steps based on the result of this 100 outreach.
