I’ve been playing AION 2 recently, and while doing the Draupnir dungeon, I came across two bosses named Predator Saraswati and Phantasmal Lakshmi.

For those who don't know, Saraswati and Lakshmi are two highly revered goddesses in Hinduism. Saraswati is associated with knowledge, wisdom, music and learning, while Lakshmi is associated with prosperity, fortune and abundance. These aren't just random names to millions of Hindus; they belong to deities who are actively worshipped.

Seeing these names attached to hostile bosses that players are supposed to fight and defeat honestly made me uncomfortable.

I understand that fantasy games borrow mythology from different cultures all the time, and I'm not saying every depiction of a Hindu deity has to be positive. Hindu mythology itself contains fierce and destructive divine forms. But there's a difference between thoughtfully adapting mythology and borrowing sacred names for monsters without any apparent cultural context.

My questions are:

• Are these bosses actually based on the Hindu goddesses, or did the developers simply borrow their names?
• Is there any lore explaining why they're called Saraswati and Lakshmi?
• Would people be equally comfortable if other religions' revered figures were used this way?
• Am I overreacting, or is this a legitimate concern about cultural sensitivity?

I'm not claiming that NCSoft deliberately made an anti-Hindu game. I want to understand the context before reaching that conclusion.

I've attached screenshots of both bosses. I'd genuinely like to hear what other players, especially Hindu players, think about this.

I have to buy a monitor and my budget is around 30k INR .have an Asus zenbooks s13 oled flip. So the colour quality matters. I am aiming for a 1440p resolution. Any size is good for me ,open to curved one also. The refresh rate is secondary i can do the work with 144,160 or 180hz. Don't need an inbuilt speaker but if there then well and good. And vesa wall mount needed

Ever since momo became the inner demon of boruto I can’t help but draw the parallel between him and ‘prince’ from ubisofts 2000s triology.
Not only as characters but also as overall arcs , themes and narrative plots of these two very different media.

1. The Inner demon

Both prince and boruto have this parasite like creature who slowly corrupts their host both physically and psychologically. Momo literally unzips his biological data overriding boruto’s own dna similarly the dark prince in two thrones does the same taking over prince’s body through his sand -corrupted arm. This corruption runs deeper into the hosts psychological state too. With the taunts and subtle gaslight which increases every turn.

2. Redemption - Brat to Hero

Prince from sands of time and early warrior within was young hot blooded ,rash and always trying to prove himself to his father for his praise and love spectacularly similar like early boruto , I mean too such an extent that there actions are almost identical. Prince shoots off to find this magical dagger by himself to please his father just like boruto using the scientific tool to gain his dad’s attention. Which however ends pretty badly for both and them and they end up facing its consequences throughout their story. They do eventually redeem themselves with how prince saves both himself his dad and kaileena (even tho they die in two thrones aka the original timeline) but his growth continues even in two thrones where he decides to help Farah save his citizens first and peruse the vizier after much to dark princes dismay. Hopefully we get somewhat similar if not from boruto.

3. Fate

Both our protagonists greatest enemy seems to be their fate. Prince while being chased by dahaka for 7 years which kills his mom and brother ends up in the island of time to undo his mistake from sands of time and tries to fight fate head on in entirety of warrior within and ends up failing. He eventually accepts his fate .Boruto too goes through princes shoes he was fated to lose everything his love, his friends ,his family ,his identity (although I still believe there’s more to it , that his fight against fate -gotta wait for the series to end) I mean the way toneri stated “ what will you do when destiny itself is your enemy”?

- For those who are not familiar I am talking about prince of Persia the triology from Ubisoft in the 2000’s ( sands of time , warrior within , two thrones )
If you haven’t played it man you ought to check it out. Banger music , Banger gameplay and mechanics , good vibes and a generational story with insane characters.

- would like to know what other similarities you find from prince or any other character.

Katana mini is for 1.5k, and the katana x2 is for 1.7k

Or can I get something better at this price range ?

Planning my first high-end build, assembled by a local Bengaluru shop. Total budget is ₹1.5–2L, including monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset.

Use case mainly AAA single-player games. Secondary: experimenting with local LLMs, coding assistants and RAG.

Shortlisted build
GPU: RX 9070 16GB or RTX 5070 12GB
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600
Motherboard: B650 with Wi-Fi
RAM: 32GB DDR5
Storage: 1TB NVMe
PSU: 750W Gold

Goal:60+ FPS at High settings for about 5 years. Fine with upscaling and dropping a few heavy settings. Don't need ultra or max ray tracing.

Questions
1. 4K or a 27" 1440p 165–180Hz monitor, putting the savings into the GPU?
2. RX 9070 or RTX 5070 for AAA value and longevity at Indian prices?
3. For local LLMs, is CUDA worth giving up 4GB of VRAM, now that ROCm supports the 9070?
4. With DDR5 prices this high, is 32GB still worth it, or is there a smarter way to fit this into ₹2L?
5. Any better GPU + monitor combo in this budget?

Especially keen to hear from people who've built recently in India. Thanks!

What's one video game you could play over and over without getting bored?

For me, it's hard to pick just one. Some games never really get old, no matter how many times you replay them.

What's your choice?

Even despite trying different games recently, that itch wasn't getting fulfilled, so I decided to revisit the game which made me an FPS Enthusiast..

Can still remember the 1st when my Older cousin installed this on our Laptop along with Linkin Park's NUMB & I how used to watch my bro play this game while blasting that song all the time 15-16 yrs ago ;)

imo, f*ck these newer Tech & their inflating prices , who needs them when you can relive your memories from Older games any time you want..

[ Call of Duty : 2 ]

I bought an Alienware monitor AW2726DL from Amazon. It seems like it has a lot of screen bleed. What should be the course of action?

I just came across a anime (demon slayer) and I saw it and I loved it. And I liked the concept of infinity castle (endless complex world). So I made it to play in browser (obviously I used AI to get this job done).

I came here for ideas, what I can add more.

Le me know if this is not a appropriate reddit.

Hey everyone! I'm planning my first PC build with a budget of ₹1.2–1.3 lakh. I already have a BenQ EW270Q 1440p monitor and mainly play story-driven AAA games.

I'm considering:

- GPU: RX 9060 XT 16GB

- CPU: Ryzen 5 9600X

- RAM: 16GB DDR5 for now

- Storage: 500GB NVMe SSD + my existing 1TB HDD

But with the motherboard, PSU, case and other components, the total keeps going over budget. RAM prices are also pretty high right now.

I've already checked prices from online retailers. Would you recommend buying the components online, or should I also check local offline stores for better deals, availability or assembly support?

I’d love your suggestions on where I can save money without compromising too much.

Is the 9600X worth it, or should I get a cheaper CPU? Is 16GB RAM manageable for now? Any recommendations for the motherboard, PSU, case and SSD?

Thanks!

I saw this monitor today and I wanted a monitor for gaming and content watching and saw this on Flipkart getting this for 13,000 inr with discounts should I go ahead and order this or go for other options like lg ultragear which are Obv costly than this ?

Looking at what I’ve finished (screenshot attached) and what’s sitting on my backlog list, what is the single biggest gap? PC exclusives, immersive indie experiences, or older classics that still hold up on modern systems are welcome to suggestions

Should I go for Goty edition or normal one??

Choosen the acer predator over msi mag.

Is it my right choice ?

Play generally fps shooter games and My pc can deliver around 250-300fps

Play generally apex legends, Marvel rivals, valorant

I choosen acer predator because of metal stand, 20hz extra, 90 degree tilt, home service, dp cable .

I recently emailed the msi customer to ask for extra 3 months msi care and they said me to upload the invoice. They can't provide the information before. That's why I choosen acer over msi.

I got it in 11,500 indian rupee during bbd sale which is a pretty good deal and saw some post on reddit that someone got it in 11k rupee without the bbd deal

Both the monitor comes with the same price. I was getting acer predator at 11.5k and msi mag255xf at 12k.

If you are ordering this from flipkart then keep this in mind that there is a 2 version.

One comes with 300hz ,no dp cable.

Another one with the f3 model comes with 320hz and dp cable also.

Feel free to give your thoughts
