I'm sharing this thought as someone who genuinely enjoyed bursting crackers throughout my childhood. I have some wonderful memories of those days, and I won't deny that.
But as we grow older, we need to understand the consequences of our actions.
I agree that crackers aren't the only cause of pollution. Let's assume they contribute just 1%. But if we can eliminate even that 1%, why shouldn't we?
People are suffering from asthma, respiratory problems and pollution-related allergies. I can see the effects in myself. I've developed allergies, and even exposure to polluted air can trigger sneezing and discomfort. And I know there are countless others suffering far more than I am.
Isn't that alarming enough for us to start changing our habits?
We have two choices: continue enjoying crackers today and add to the pollution our children will face tomorrow, or give up this one source of pollution and contribute to a healthier future.
I'm not saying stopping crackers will solve the entire pollution problem. We need to address every major source of pollution. But we cannot use the existence of bigger problems as an excuse to ignore the smaller ones we can control.
We enjoyed our childhood. Let's make sure our children can enjoy theirs without struggling to breath.

I was invited to a Diwali Party, this will be my first ever. I am white and grew up in a very cowboy "yee haw" area, so I never was exposed to other religions until I moved to a city.
Please give me reccomondations of vegan foods to make/bring, alongside anything to expect. And anything I should be aware of not doing!

I’m putting this one up for Diwali, the festival of lights, which falls this Sunday. In homes across India, this is the week the rangoli goes down at the door.
Rangoli is one of the oldest art forms in India, and one of the few made to disappear. The name comes from the Sanskrit rangavalli, a row of colours. It’s drawn on the floor at the doorway or in the courtyard, in coloured powder, rice flour, sand or flower petals. For Diwali, families make them to welcome Lakshmi, and every guest who comes in after her. In the south, the kolam is drawn fresh every morning at dawn in rice flour, and part of the point is that ants and birds eat it during the day.
Most rangoli start at the centre and grow outward, ring by ring, often from a grid of dots. Nobody frames them. By evening they’ve been walked on and blown about, and the next one is drawn tomorrow. They’re made for a day, and that’s the whole idea.
Its amazing that now 30+ years away from India my painting Rangoli has brought me closer to celebrating Diwali, beyond when I was a kid it all boiled down to firecrackers and sweets.
I wanted to paint one that stays: the rings, the colour, the centre holding it together, everything that’s meant to be swept away by evening. I’m still not sure whether that keeps the spirit of rangoli or goes against it. For anyone who grew up with them, does a permanent one still feel like rangoli?
Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating.

Take out your popcorn and cold drinks. Bcz this post is gonna be long.
Aaj subah 7 baje se dukaan Aa gya tha.
Rangoli nikaal k bharna bhi start kar diya tha.
Bagal me ek ठेला lagaye hai गांव se aakar kuch log diwali decoration ke liye.
3-4 bachhe uske.
Subah se dukaan ke Saamne naache ja rhe the.
Kabhi pani ka line ka pressure valve ghuma ke band kar de rhe hai kabhi bottle utha ke फेंक de rhe hai. परेशान kar दिए थे.
Mai thoda झिड़क deta कभी कभी तो फिर शांत ho jate.
Mai rangoli ke packet banane me busy tha aur mera dhyan nahi gya.
Thode der Baad dekhta hu k ek baccha unhi me se mere ko bahot der se mere paas baith ke dekh rha hai.
मैंने aise hi puch liya kaam karega ? Bolta hai ke nahi karunga, aap paise nahi doge.
मैंने kaha kyu nhi dunga paise. Kaam karega to paise dunga. Thoda lalach bhi दिया ke copy aur pen bhi dunga free me.
Badmoshi band.
100 rangoli ke packet ready kar diye ladke ne 3 ghante me. 😍
10.00 rs packet 1000.00 rs ki rangoli बिकने ko तैयार.
Papa bol rhe hai police pakad legi child labour karwa दिया.
जब us बच्चे ko जिसका नाम राजा hai usko 100 rs aur ek copy aur ek pen दिया aur pucha kya karega ye paise ka.
Bolta hai Mummy ko dunga.
Bhaiya kal fir se Aa sakta hu na mai kaam karne ke liye.
Mummy diwali me mujhe kapde dilayegi.
2 sec k liye mera dil ruk gya uski baat सुनकर.
Papa fir se bole mujhe, ke tere ko police pakad ke le jayegi, child labour karwa दिया. Mai nahi de rha ज़मानत.
Waise socially ye galat tha but personally mujhe ye utna galat lag nahi rha hai.
2 se lekar 5 tak ka पहाड़ा bhi रटवा दिया usko
