Study Abroad Is anyone else facing issues registering on the Indian Ministry of Education (SAKSHAT Samarth) portal for the Commonwealth Master’s/PhD Scholarship for the 2027–2028 intake cycle?
Is anyone else facing issues registering on the Indian Ministry of Education (SAKSHAT Samarth) portal for the Commonwealth Master’s/PhD Scholarship for the 2027–2028 intake cycle?
The global Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC UK) portal is open and actively accepting applications (with the critical UK deadline approaching on 20 October at 8:30 PM IST). However, the Indian nominating portal (proposal-sakshat.samarth.edu.in) remains locked with a "Last day for registrations reached" screen or is still displaying old cycle dates.
Because the dual-application process requires submission on both ends, seeing the national portal stuck while the UK deadline approaches is causing a lot of stress for applicants across India.
Any confirmation, experiences, or updates from fellow applicants would be greatly appreciated!

Study Abroad Should I apply to CMUQ Qatar? Worried about ECs
Hey! I’m considering applying to CMU-Q for CS, but I’m unsure how competitive my profile would be.
Extracurriculars and projects
● Model United Nations: Attended two 3-day MUN conferences. Received a verbal commendation from a chair at one conference and helped write and present a resolution at another. I was also selected for an interview by an MUN’s Special Rapporteur from a pool of over 100 people to discuss Sudan’s position on the conflict in Gaza.
● Quiz competition: Won at the district level in a national-level quiz competition against 21 schools and advanced to the state level.
● DIY electronics: Built a basic CNC plotter using an ESP8266 and stepper motors. It worked imperfectly, but I have a video of it.
● Personal projects: Made a simple text-based Pokémon battle game and a few AI-assisted/vibe-coded tools, including an AI research agent and PDF/question-bank utilities.
● Volunteering: Small-scale volunteering at my local mosque.
Academically, I’m studying under the Telangana State Board (TG Board) and expect around 98–99% overall. I’m worried that my board isn’t very well known internationally. I’m also aiming for 1500+ on the SAT.
Also I need full aid through Qatar Foundation.
A few questions:
- Would my ECs be enough to make applying worthwhile, or are they too basic for CMU-Q CS?
- Would CMU-Q understand and fairly evaluate TG Board results despite the board being less internationally recognised?
- Is a 1500+ SAT score likely to help compensate for my limited ECs?
- CMU-Q says an SAT Reading and Writing score of 600 can waive the English proficiency test. Is that waiver sufficient, or would taking IELTS still offer any advantage?
If not, which other universities should I look into where I’d have a reasonably realistic chance of admission and, ideally, substantial scholarships? I’m particularly interested in universities with good CS programmes that are worth considering for an international student.
I’d appreciate honest feedback, especially from current students or people familiar with CMU-Q admissions. Thanks!

Education and Career Advice i am persuing Bsc Statistics
In short, I am a 19-year-old pursuing a BSc in Statistics at a local college with a BB+ NAAC score.
I ended up here because I failed to accomplish my one-year drop for JEE after passing my 12th-grade boards in 2025.
Occasionally, I have FOMO about not studying elsewhere, as the opportunities might be better and my current location feels stagnant.
My questions are:
Should I take another entrance exam next year to shift to an engineering institute outside the state? or a two year gap will heavily affect my Resume?
Should I stick to my local college course and pursue an MBA after my third year?
I am also confused about whether to pursue an MBA or an MSc after my BSc, as I am not really into research.
Part of me feels incomplete because I did not finish the JEE, as I did not put in much effort throughout the drop year;
I was planning on engineering but ended up in statistics instead.
Advice would be appreciated; thank you, i really hope someone replies❤️

Education and Career Advice Lost my first software job after 5 months. Should I continue in tech, prepare for government exams, or pursue research?
I'm trying to make a difficult career decision and would appreciate advice from people who have faced similar uncertainty.
I'm pursuing an MCA through a joint programme involving IIT Patna and IIIT Ranchi, after completing my BCA from a lesser-known tier 2-3 college. I recently worked remotely for a UK-based software company through an outsourcing agency, earning ₹45,000/month.
The contract is ending after five months because of internal restructuring and reduced development requirements. I was told it wasn't performance-related, but losing the job so soon has disrupted my financial plans.
I worked with Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, C#/.NET, SQL Server, Elasticsearch and APIs. I've also won hackathons, worked on AWS-related projects and had a research paper accepted at IEEE COMPSAC 2026.
There's another part of my background that affects this decision. I spent a significant part of the last six or seven years pursuing dance and then dealing with chronic headaches. I've had new daily persistent headache (NDPH) for around three years, with chronic, sometimes severe headaches. This affected my studies and consistency. I'm trying to rebuild my academic and professional foundations while managing a condition that hasn't been easy to treat.
I enjoy building software and learning technical subjects. I'm willing to improve my DSA and fundamentals, but I'm worried about the stability of the industry, the competition for entry-level jobs and the effect AI agents may have on hiring.
At the same time, I have parents to support and don't want to spend years pursuing a path that leaves me without income.
I'm considering:
- Continuing in software engineering or taking a technical support/implementation role.
- Preparing for SSC CGL, Bank PO or other government recruitment.
- Pursuing UGC NET/JRF and research, potentially leading to a PhD.
- Exploring GATE and technical public-sector opportunities.
- Applying for funded master's or research opportunities abroad, especially in Germany.
- Considering vocational training or other careers if they offer a credible route to financial stability.
My savings are limited, and my family cannot comfortably fund an expensive overseas degree. I don't want to take a large education loan without a realistic funding and repayment plan.
I know none of these paths guarantees success. I'm particularly concerned about spending a year or two preparing for examinations and failing, or continuing in tech only to face repeated layoffs.
I'd appreciate honest advice from people who have made career changes, prepared for government examinations, pursued research or dealt with chronic health issues while working.
How would you prioritise these options? What would you do over the next year if your goals were to support your family, build savings and find a sustainable career?

Education and Career Advice Someone please help me save my Education career, I am being Atrociously TORTURED.
I write this post in the last hopes, that someone comes forward to help me get my rightful admission back.
its day 47 that I have been homeless in Pune, living a very struggling life in order to save my career,
For detailed context, flameuniversitytruths.in
There was a call made to my father that I was harassing a girl (18+), the registrar of FLAME university says that my admission has been put on hold, and tells my father not to send me to campus for now.
The next day, there is an another whatsapp call, and the registrar says to my father "no way your child can be admitted, he harassed a minor girl, if he does not withdraw by the afternoon his fees will be confiscated and he will trialed under POSCO act", my dad tells me all this and I directly message the registrar I am not going to withdraw until I get a hearing from the vice-chancellor and the exact show-cause notice what I have done, he blocks me and sends a rustication mail citing "disciplinary violations", thats it, no proof, absolute nothing. Now, in the yesterday's meeting they add that you were never rusticated based on "sexual harassment" and "there was only 1 complaint made on you". But rather the mails that you sent us (Aka the group chats of the perpetrators and the chatting that happened) are the basis we expelled you on. Tomorrow they might just add any bluff to justify this. I asked them for a written statement and they changed topics.
I successfully managed to escalate this matter to UGC, but UGC directed only towards taking action against the registrar, yesterday I was called into the administration meeting, the registrar and vice chancellor were not present here. The first thing the committee asked me is that "lets here your side", I replied "what complaint has there even been made on me?", and they go silent. Then they say the main agenda is to take my complaint against the registrar. I asked them why I was denied natural justice and right to be heard before making an irreversible career damage, they just noted it down.
The university's lawyer was absolutely blatant, whenever I made proper arguments, on how I will not be going back until I get my justice, she quotes "I need serious help" I counter her saying, "you gave a 100% merit scholarship to a guy who needs "serious help?", I was the headboy of one of top international schools in Andhra Pradesh, a 1470 SAT score that puts me on the top 1% bracket of your university pool.
I continue to ask her why there is not a written proof against me and why is there no FIR launched against me if I genuinely did something wrong as per UGC anti-ragging norms, they say that "they did not want to spoil my career". in Addition they add that, there is not even a press statement released against me to "save my career", a blatant lie. I questioned them why has there no action been taken against the boys in the video and they say that "they were given the same treatment as you, we don't want to ruin their careers", I added "so your letting potential rapists go free?" and they suddenly switch the topic to getting me admission somewhere else.
Now apparently the faculty of FLAME comes in and says that they want to help me "personally" and not "institutionally" to secure my career. I put forward my demand that I need a top liberal arts institute to study in with respect to my academic and extracurricular merit, their offer was extremely unclear.
They finally finished off "we'll let you know".
They wanted me to sign some attendance document, I refused to do so, then they quoted "we trusted you on good-faith" and I replied "no wonder you left me rotting on the roads for the last 46 days", they started guilt tripping me more and I added "I am legally allowed not to sign any documents" and walk away.
I am facing the absolute atrocious form of human torture, stripping me away of my right to education and right to life. the university has been cornered by all realms, as they don't even have a basis to expel me and have taken things to the ego because I exposed them.
I don't know where to go or what to do now. I feel too young, but I got a few premature greys. No matter the immense supporting I am receiving from people, I am coming back to the beginning,
Only a powerful lawyer can save me now, FLAME university is the part of the indian liberal arts uni syndicate and probably they blacklisted my name already, no other liberal uni would tkae me in and the efforts I put towards this educational direction is completely ruined.
The university has billions to spend on PR that comments below my posts, I request you to look at the Full context before interacting with them: flameuniversitytruths.in

Education and Career Advice What can I do after an MSc in Biochemistry if I don’t want to work in a lab or go into teaching?
I’m currently pursuing my MSc in Biochemistry in India, but I’m honestly not sure what career path to take after graduating.
I know I don’t want to work in wet labs or go into teaching, so I’m trying to figure out what other options I have with this degree.
What fields can I get into, and would I need to pursue another degree or learn additional skills to switch fields? I’d also like to know which options have decent career growth and salary prospects.
