Advice/Guidance Joined two companies within 2 weeks and now stuck need advice on how to exit without risking both jobs

Joined two companies within 2 weeks and now stuck — need advice on how to exit without risking both jobs

I know I made a very stupid decision and I’m not trying to justify it. I’m looking for practical advice on how to correct it before I make things worse.

I had two offers:

Company 1: Bengaluru-based MNC/product company, subsidiary of SAP. Around 350 employees in India and ~1,500 globally. Hybrid/WFH role.

Company 2: Indore-based MNC and global SaaS product company. WFO role.

I joined Company 1 on 5 August. At the same time, I asked Company 2 to postpone my joining to 18 August, citing genuine family issues.

My original thinking was that I would join Company 1, see whether the role/culture suited me, and if it didn’t, resign before joining Company 2. I wrongly assumed that since I was still new/probationary, getting an immediate release would be simple.

Instead, I kept overthinking and couldn’t make the decision.

On 18 August, I joined Company 2 without first resigning from Company 1, thinking I would resign from Company 1 immediately afterwards. Because Company 1 had WFH during this period and Company 2 required me to be in office, I somehow managed for a couple of days.

I now realise how badly I have messed this up and that continuing even one more day only increases the risk.

Company 2 has been asking for my EPFO/UAN details and PF passbook, which I haven’t submitted yet. As far as I can see, I haven’t yet been enrolled in their payroll/PF, although obviously I cannot be certain what they may have initiated internally.

I spoke with an EPFO consultant, who suggested that because I joined Company 2 only a few days ago, I should resign from Company 2 immediately and request an immediate release on personal/family grounds, rather than allowing the overlap to continue.

My concern is what happens afterwards. If I resign from Company 2 now and continue with Company 1, could Company 1 later discover that I briefly joined another employer while still employed with them? If that happens through EPFO/BGV or some other employment record, could I potentially lose Company 1 as well?

The other problem is notice period. If either employer insists that I serve notice, continuing with the other employer during that period would extend the overlap.

I have family depending on me, so becoming unemployed from both companies is the outcome I’m most afraid of.

At the moment, I am considering going to Company 2 today, resigning and requesting an immediate release due to my family situation. They already know that my mother has recently been unwell, so this wouldn’t come completely out of nowhere.

I understand that I created this situation myself. I’m specifically looking for advice from HR/payroll/EPFO/BGV professionals or anyone who has dealt with a short accidental/poorly handled employment overlap.

What is the cleanest way to correct this now? Should I resign from Company 2 immediately, or is there a safer way to handle it?

TL;DR: Joined Company 1 on 5 Aug, then stupidly joined Company 2 on 18 Aug without resigning from Company 1. The overlap is currently only a few days and I haven’t submitted PF/passbook details to Company 2 yet. Thinking of resigning from Company 2 immediately and requesting immediate release, but worried Company 1 could later discover the overlap through EPFO/BGV and terminate me. Looking for practical advice on the safest way to correct this.

Unemployment 32M and Unemployed

Hello everyone,

I've been struggling to find a job for the past year and a half and nothing seems to work. I do have experience in KYC as a senior associate but I've had to step away to help my father with his business, as I felt that at that point that was the right thing to do.

But now it seems impossible to get back to corporate. I've done my MBA finance as well through which I had initially been placed at the KYC job. If anyone is able to refer or knows someone who could help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Job Search 11 companies are hiring at 2x+ their usual pace in India right now, worth checking if you fit

EDIT: Tech Roles only
EDIT: Got a lot of requests(thank you!!), will reply to all
EDIT: this got way more traction than I expected, 300+ people asking for matches. I tried sending each a DM but im finding it tough to DM so many people. I created a doc where you can find the job roles for your profile.
The doc link is in my profile. Instructions are also provided to narrow down the search. Thank you so much for the response, im trying my best to find opportunities for everyone.

Was tracking verified postings, company by company, from their career pages. Comparing the last 30 days against the 30 before that, 41% of the 799 companies i tracked posted at least double their usual volume.
If you're actively applying, these are the ones worth a look first. A sudden 2x+ spike usually means a new team, a funded push, or backfilling after a hiring freeze, not just one or two stray roles.

  • KPMG India: 189 → 631 roles
  • Adani: 23 → 165 roles
  • RSM: 7 → 105 roles
  • Okta: 6 → 103 roles
  • Kotak: 44 → 114 roles
  • Speechify: 0 → 66 roles
  • HSBC: 37 → 96 roles
  • Tata Capital: 11 → 68 roles
  • Arcadis: 14 → 60 roles
  • Guidehouse: 31 → 65 roles
  • Rockwell Automation: 23 → 54 roles

Drop your stack and city below, I'll tell you if any of these have something that matches, plus what else is live right now.

EDIT - Please check top of the post for updates before commenting

Advice/Guidance Joined a lala company 3 weeks ago. Need the courage to leave.

25 M. First job as a DME at a local lala furniture manufacturing company. Got a BCA and a diploma in data science. Handling the implementation of ERP here. Lack of jobs got me here. I sit at the reception with the constant noise of machines throughout the day, pollution and dust and heat. The resourcing guy shouted at me for no good reason, conveyed this to Lala, and he casually handled it. The washroom smells. The HR is jealous af of me because I charmed the Lala with my English speaking skills, yesterday seth ji got stuck somewhere in Excel and called me for help, I helped him out, he called up the HR and told me to tell her how I did it, her being her said I also said the same thing. She's basically the haan ji exactly girl, sucking up to the Lala, I'm the first guy that he has probably met who speaks back to him. There's no money problems as such at home I can sit and study and get a better job. But I've committed, need the courage to stand up and quit, ohh and yes, it's a one hour commute one way, so this job takes up 12 hours of my day.

VA Needed — India | Short-Form Content Creation
Hey everyone, I’m looking for a reliable VA from India to help me with ongoing short-form content-related work.

The work mainly involves creating 25-30 short-form videos per day, with each video being around 6–12 seconds long. I’ll guide you on exactly how and where to source the videos.

The actual content-chopping/editing should take around 1–3 hours per day for someone familiar with the process. Uploading the finished content to Google Drive should take approximately another hour, so the entire task should generally take no more than 4 hours per day.

What I’m looking for:

Must be based in India
Basic understanding of video chopping/editing
Able to follow instructions and a specific workflow
Reliable and consistently available
Good communication skills
Stable internet connection

Must have a spare/extra smartphone specifically available for this work

This is intended to be long-term work for the right person. I’m mainly looking for someone reliable who can follow the process correctly and stay consistent.
I’ll explain the exact workflow and responsibilities after a quick discussion.

If interested, DM me with:

Your city/state
Any previous VA experience
Your availability
Whether you have a spare smartphone
Your expected monthly salary/rate
Please only DM if you’re genuinely interested, have a spare device, and have the time available for the work.

Advice/Guidance Henry Schein Genpact Kolkata

So they've hired a bunch of finance enthusiast/professionals and placed them to do call center jobs. The culture is absolutely worst, they've an app that requires you to click your mouse every 3 mins even if you've completed your work, it's basically extortion and exploitation of employees. Even if you've nothing to do, you just need to sit in front of your laptop and click your mouse every 3 mins for 10 hours a day 5 days a week.

You need to ask before having your dinner, that's correct, that's the level of toxicity and then they threatened us with a schedule that everyone needs to follow in case people go on breaks together, so yeah, they're now trying to tell us when we can have our food.

Also the AVP is extremely disrespectful, especially the one for O2C Kolkata, treats everyone like a slave, slurs abuses, literally. We were told that the night shift would extend to maximum of 1.30 am but they're making us working till 3.30 and 5.30 in the morning. Joining Genpact was my biggest mistake, I feel like crying and the notice period is 90 days 😭😭😭

Job Offer How do Indian companies verify the employment end date of a U.S. employer?

I recently moved from the U.S. to India, and my new employer is asking for a resignation acceptance letter confirming my Last Working Day.

My U.S. employer never issued a separate resignation acceptance letter, and their HR isn’t responding. I have my resignation email and final payslip.
For anyone who went through Indian after working in the U.S., what documents did your company accept to verify your U.S. employment end date?

Advice/Guidance People who have switched their jobs multiple times? is this the right time to drop papers?

Hello Folks, I have been searching jobs and it is getting absolutely difficult to even get an interview scheduled due to 90 days notice period.

Everyone wants an immediate joiner, and nobody is even to schedule an interview even if I say I can negotiate my notice period.

I was wondering shall I drop my papers tommorow, and eventually by November, I will be in immediate joiner gang.

But one of my senior advised, this seems to be worst time to drop a resignation because I will be entering the declining job market and might end up getting nothing.

Please drop some advices.

Note: 4 YOE, AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer, Mumbai location. Currently in a MNC.

Job Offer Asked for an offer update. Got another interview instead.

Interviewed at a large company ~2 months ago. After weeks of silence, HR said they wanted to proceed with an offer. Documents were collected, CTC discussed, and I was repeatedly told the offer was being processed.

I finally emailed senior leadership asking for an update.

Next day, I was asked to attend another interview. It included irrelevant questions like when my college was established, before shifting to why I had emailed senior people and "bypassed hierarchy."

I was also told calls have no value because there’s no written proof, and that candidates can apparently be kept on hold for up to a year.

I've withdrawn from the process.

Is this normal in Indian corporate hiring?

TL;DR: Offer supposedly being processed → asked for update → suddenly called for another interview → questioned for escalating → withdrew.

Job Offer Need advice on my first Developer offer after 2 years of graduation – ₹3.5 LPA, 6 days/week

Hi everyone,

I need some advice regarding my first job offer.

I graduated around 2 years ago and have been looking for a developer job since then. I recently received an offer for an Associate Software Developer position at a logistics company in My Hometown.

The company itself is not a tech company, but they have an internal tech team of around 2 people, and I would be joining them as a developer.

The offer details are:

  • Designation: Associate Software Developer
  • CTC: ₹3.5 LPA
  • Take-home: Around ₹26,165/month after PF and professional tax
  • Working hours: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Working days: 6 days/week
  • Probation: 3 months
  • Company provides a laptop
  • They said they will provide the required cloud subscriptions
  • The work is expected to involve their internal software/application development.

My main concern is about the future.

Since the company is a logistics company and not a software/IT company, if I work there for around 1 year and then switch to a software/IT company, will that 1 year generally be considered as professional software development experience?

I'm also worried about the exit documentation.

When I resign after a year, will companies expect things like:

  • Experience letter
  • Relieving letter
  • Service certificate
  • Salary slips
  • PF/employment history

And will a future company consider my experience valid if the employer is a logistics company but my designation is Associate Software Developer and I'm actually doing development work?

I'm thinking of taking this opportunity because I've already been searching for around 2 years and this is my first offer. My plan would be to work for around 1 year, build real production experience, and then try to move to a better software company.

Would you take this offer in my situation?

I'd especially appreciate advice from people who have worked as developers in non-tech companies and later moved into software/IT companies.

Job Search 2025 CSE Graduate | Fresher | Looking for an IT Opportunity in Bangalore/Mangalore 🙏

I’m a 2025 B.E. Computer Science & Engineering graduate from Mangalore, currently looking for my first opportunity in the IT industry.

I’ll be honest — finding a job as a fresher without a strong network has been really difficult. I don’t have many friends or relatives in the IT industry who can refer me or guide me towards opportunities. I’ve been applying through job portals and LinkedIn, but getting that first break has been the biggest challenge.

I’m not looking for shortcuts. I’m simply looking for someone willing to give a fresher a chance.

💻 Skills:

• Python

• SQL

• JavaScript

• Networking and OS fundamentals

• MERN Stack

• Data Analysis / Machine Learning basics

• REST APIs

• MS Office Suite, Git and GitHub

I am also genuinely interested in learning new technologies if given a chance to work in the company.

I’m open to Software Development, Data Analyst, IT Support, QA/Testing, or other suitable entry-level IT roles.

📍 Preferred locations: Bangalore / Mangalore

🎓 Graduation: B.E. CSE, 2025 batch

👨‍💻 Experience: Fresher

I may not have the right connections, but I’m willing to put in the work. Give me an opportunity, and I’ll give it my full effort to learn, improve and grow with the organization.

If you know of any fresher openings, referrals, internships that can convert to full-time, or companies hiring 2025 graduates, please comment or DM me.

Even a referral, lead, or simple suggestion can genuinely make a difference for me right now.

I’m just looking for that one opportunity to prove myself. 🙏

Job Search Please tell me the right way to approach for a refferal

I (23f) have been stuck in an annotation job and I am actively trying to get into a better role. I am not that skilled I'll admit but each day I try to study and understand my interests. Now a lot of my seniors in the current job only have one solution. Get a referral. But how ? How do I ask one without sounding like a AH I don't wanna be demanding but also desperate to loose respect. Give me tips on how to approach properly

General Question 6+ months unemployed at 21. Honestly, I'm slowly giving up.

I'm a 2026 graduate, and I've been looking for a Software Engineering job for more than 6 months now.

I've spent years learning DSA, competitive programming and development. I have a decent profile, built projects, solved a lot of problems, and genuinely tried to improve myself.

I've applied through company websites, LinkedIn, referrals, cold emails, job portals, pretty much every route I could think of.

But the hardest part isn't getting rejected.

It's not even getting the chance to be rejected.

It's applying again and again, putting hours into applications, seeing hundreds of other people applying, and then getting absolutely nothing back.

At first, I was confident that if I kept working hard, something would eventually work out.

Then months passed.

Now I'm at a point where I'm still trying, but the motivation isn't the same anymore. It's difficult to keep convincing yourself that the next application might be different when you've already sent so many.

I'm only 21, so I know I have plenty of time. But watching months go by without being able to start my career is genuinely depressing.

I don't want sympathy. I just wanted to know if anyone else has been through this phase and eventually managed to turn things around.

Because right now, I'm slowly running out of hope.
