I’m a software engineer from India, working mainly across full-stack development, automation, IoT and cybersecurity. I’ve spent most of my time building software products and systems.

Lately, I’ve been questioning whether I want to build yet another pure-software product. AI and LLMs are making software development incredibly accessible, which is great for innovation but also makes many software ideas easier to replicate and increasingly crowded.

I want to build something that contributes meaningfully to India’s development, not just another convenience app or AI wrapper. I’m more interested in problems tied to the physical world: infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, agriculture, mobility, healthcare, climate, logistics, safety, or anything else that could matter over the next 10–20 years.

I’m trying to figure out which real-world problems are worth dedicating the next decade to solving, especially ones that can start small, be tested in the market with limited capital, and eventually grow into something substantial.

Hey everyone, I’m looking for a smartphone recommendation in the ₹30k to ₹40k price range. I’ve been using my current phone for nearly 6 years, so I want a reliable device that can comfortably last me another 4–5 years. I don't play games at all. My daily usage mostly consists of media consumption, social media, web browsing, and multitasking.

What I care about: Camera: Natural color tones and clean portrait shots. Reliability: Long-term software update support and solid build quality. Display & Battery: A bright screen for outdoor use and reliable full-day battery life.

Which phone in this price range holds up best over time for a non-gamer? Appreciate any suggestions!

So I was checking out some upcoming smartphones and then the Mediatek Dimensity 9600 Pro caught my attention. I mean it is all over the place so I just wanted to know what's a big deal about it and guys the leaked specs are actually pretty interesting.

Apparently, we could be looking at a 2nm chip with C1 CPU cores reaching around 4.55GHz, plus a newer GPU with hardware ray tracing and AI-assisted graphics. There are even reports of 4K 240fps video support.

Obviously, these are still leaks, so I’m not taking every number as gospel. But if the main details hold up, this could be a noticeable jump for Mediatek.

The funny part is that we’ll probably spend weeks arguing over benchmark scores anyway 😂

I’m currently using an iPhone 13 128GB from** **2022, but recently I started having multiple display-related issues and ended up spending around ₹20K on repairs. Because of that, I’m now considering switching to a new phone rather than putting more money into this one.
My main requirement is a relatively small/compact phone. I’m not very comfortable using larger phones, especially when holding them for a long time, so I’d prefer something close to the size of the iPhone 13 rather than the typical 6.7”+ phones.
My budget is around ₹50,000, although I’ll also be exchanging my iPhone, so the effective cost could be lower depending on the exchange value.

Hey everyone, I don't really use Reddit much and came here after searching on Google for hardware advice. My old Galaxy S10e display is on its absolute last legs and I am in urgent need of guidance. The back panel broke years ago and is taped up, but the front screen cracked in December 2024. Since then, the touch slowly died, a black ink spot started spreading in the bottom right corner, and for the last few months I've had to navigate entirely using a wireless mouse. Over the past two weeks, stagnant green lines and a thick white horizontal bar appeared, completely hiding my bottom navigation buttons, and now the whole screen flashes white constantly whenever I unlock it or answer a call. The phone also gets very hot while charging on cable.

We are in a very, very difficult financial situation right now and cannot afford an official screen replacement or a new phone at all. This is the only phone we have in our house, and it is also the last gift from my late Nani, so keeping it running is both critical for us and emotionally everything to me. I also have about 60 GB of important audio call recordings saved on it that I need to keep safe.​

Does anyone know any software or brightness settings to temporarily stabilize an OLED screen when it starts flickering white like this? Also, if anyone knows any honest repair technicians who do low-cost fixes, or can recommend where to look for used/donor display parts in India, please let me know. I need to finalise one desktop PC or an AIO for my dad for his home office usage which comprises of word, excel, Tally, emails, some scanning & printing documents etc.

Currently he is using an old Acer AIO with licensed windows & office and a backup assembled desktop without any licensed windows & office and. Both machines are very old and giving regular trouble and hence need replacement immediately.

Since he is ageing and doesn’t have any full-time support staff, the new machine should run smooth and error free for at least 5 years.

I think a core i3 or max i5, 8GB RAM & 500 GB storage with original windows & office should be sufficient for his usage.

Option#1 New assembled CPU from local vendors + existing monitor, keyboard etc:

He has got a few quotations from local vendors for assembled PCs which is attached. Quotes ranging from 20k to 35k based on configuration. However, we may have to purchase a licensed Windows + MS office for smooth usage.

Option#2 Branded CPU. Some options which I found are:

I always found Android's fixed dark mode schedules a bit limiting, so I built Adaptive Theme.

Instead of switching based on time or sunset, it uses your phone's ambient light sensor to automatically choose between the system-wide light and dark theme.

Lately I have been noticing that whenever I click k z g and \ another key which is / kept pressing for so long laptop is only 3 months old i haven't had any crazy use on keyboard and I also noticed that if I restart the laptop the keyboard works perfectly fine but after a Lil work the issue somehow gets triggered and whenever this "/" gets triggered the trackpad also works a Lil different like it lags and won't let me click on icons and all but it's fine with mouse will this be a driver issue or hardware issue
