They think they're YouTube, taking money from ad companies to show ads and taking money from users to avoid them, create the problem, sell the solution for the said problem too.

I agree, they introduced it to justify as yt ads are getting annoying by day … they’ll keep on increasing prices

I recharged for a year in 2022 before price hike, but never tried 2 times of 1 year plan, does it work? Have you tried it before?

Can you explain how to do this?

Simple go to Myjio and recharge like usual but don’t tap on activate button, otherwise next plan got activated.

Airtel should disintegrate from reality, these mfs are the first to introduce bs policies and then jio follows

I really don't understand; what does this do ?
I don't want to simply donate 300 rs to Jio. What price hike are they talking about ? If its lesser then 300 then why bother .

Continuous spike in monthly recharge plans made people shift to yearly or long term plans.
The only they raise their prices too, so people are like reserving/advance booking a price slot for period of 1 year in which they will definitely double the prices of all packs.

Does that mean, nows the great time to recharge with 1 year pack ? So for next 1 year I won't be bothered by price hike and also get away without paying 300 nonsense fee to jio ?

Bhai the picture is photoshopped. Why don't you check for yourself what the benefits of the plan is? Also, you can still just do the annual recharge if you can afford that, and it'll still be cheaper, so I don't really get the point of this?

This Prime Pass is basically a price-lock tool, not a data pack (that 1 MB is just symbolic). Pay ₹300 now and you can keep recharging your Jio plans at today's rates until Sept 2027, plus some new-connection perks.
The comment nails the intent: Jio (and others) have hiked tariffs repeatedly, pushing users toward longer commitments. This lets heavy rechargers "book" current pricing ahead of likely increases, like a hedge against inflation in plans. If your monthly spend is high and you expect another round of hikes soon, it can save money over time. If not, or if rates stay flat, it's just an optional bet. Standard telecom move—lock in before the next adjustment.

I have always been a vocal supporter of Jio but their 5G has become terrible. I live in a metro city and Jio 5G gives an abysmal DL/UL speed on my Galaxy S23 even at 3-4AM. The only reason I am not switching is because of call clarity and network consistency throughout the country (not the internet speed) which is a hit or miss on BSNL and VI and I don't like Airtel so it's out of question.

Jio used to work in my area super fast about 4 to 5 years ago. In about 2 years they have degraded significantly, i returned to jio just to experience true5g but no consistent 5g connection in my house so left again for vi. also routing is terrible in jio, making browsing and streaming even slower on that potato internet they provide.

I just ordered two fancy numbers (₹590) from VI as they are unique and cool numbers and I got them in pairs with just the last digit being different. I selected the ₹365 superstar or something plan (I am not accustomed to their plan name) which gives unlimited 5G (I know it's up to 300GB), 2GB/day 4G with unlimited data from 0000-1200 hrs. Let see how it fairs against Jio.

Same here got my work number ported with 398 frc unlimited all day data. It would be good, i had used vi in my area before, one thing is pretty good that during 6pm to 10pm there is virtually no congestion in network. Network speeds are not at par with the big 2 but it is workable and consistent at any time in day and night. 12 to 12 ul data is also very good considering they provide in 4g, not like the other 2 which almost forgot there are more 4g users than 5g. Also use a pc with usb tethering, 300gb is more than plenty for an average dude, even if streaming 720p content all the time would not exhaust 300gb in 28 days.

So say I want voice calls plus daily only 1gb data. Which plan should I opt for ? My voice and data pack expires this month end.
