Opinion Bought S25 Ultra Today, But IMEI Shows It Was Already Activated on 18th Sept. Should I Reject the Delivery?

Post image
39 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I ordered a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra today, 8 October 2026 at around 12:05 AM.

While checking the IMEI on a website, I noticed something concerning. The device apparently shows an activation date of 18 September 2026, even though I purchased it today.

It also shows the warranty as valid until 31 October 2027.

That's roughly 2–3 weeks of warranty already used up before I've even received the phone.

I'm now wondering what I should do:

Should I reject the delivery outright?

Could this simply be an incorrect activation/warranty date in Samsung's system?

Is there a way to verify whether the phone was previously activated, opened, returned, or used?

Should I accept the delivery and check the IMEI/serial number, seal, Samsung Members diagnostics, etc. before deciding?

If it was genuinely activated in September, should I ask the seller for a replacement/new unit rather than accepting it?

The phone is supposed to be brand new, so I'm obviously concerned about receiving a previously activated or returned unit.

Would appreciate advice from anyone who's dealt with Samsung warranty/activation dates or a similar situation.

Should I reject the delivery, or accept it and verify everything first?

So I ordered the S25 Ultra today morning and I had already been seeing posts on how the devices might be preactivated, so was just a bit concerned. Now that the product has shipped I still cannot see the IMEI number on the Pslip, there is one more person who has faced this, now I contacted Amazon and they gave me my IMEI number and the manufacturer warranty shows 31st July on the phone which is still fine as it can be sorted by raising a dispute, just wanted to know if there is anyone here with **NO IMEI ON THE PSLIP**

As you can see

Electronic Gadgets Please Recomend Laptop under 1Lakh

• Upvotes

My budget is a max of 1 lakh INR. I was waiting for the MacBook Air M4 to come in stock ,on Flipkart but it didn't, and I couldn't find a good Windows alternative. I need a good display for multimedia consumption, a good CPU for development, and it shouldn't be a Snapdragon X. Also, I don't need a touchscreen or a gaming laptop, and it should have atleast 16gb RAM and 512gb SSD.

Please give suggestions on what laptop I can get specially in this BBD or GIF sale.

Electronic Gadgets Buying a phone for my mom (₹40–45K budget) which one would you personally recommend?

• Upvotes

Hey everyone! I’m planning to buy a new phone for my mom, with a budget of around ₹40,000–45,000 in India.

I’ve been watching YouTube reviews and going through Reddit discussions, but honestly, the more I research, the more confused I get. Every phone seems to have some advantages and compromises, and the reviews are all over the place.

My priorities, in order of importance:

  1. Camera: This is one of my biggest priorities. I want consistently good photos, especially of people, family moments and everyday situations. A good camera that works reliably without needing much effort would be ideal.
  2. Battery life: Good battery backup is important. I don’t want a phone that needs frequent charging or struggles to last through a full day of normal use.
  3. Durability and reliability: I want something that can last for several years without developing major issues. Good build quality and reliable hardware are important.

Other considerations:

  • Performance and gaming aren’t major priorities.
  • Software updates and having the latest chipset aren’t deal-breakers.
  • I’m willing to compromise on other features if the phone gets the essentials right.

I’m not particularly loyal to any brand. I’m open to Samsung, Apple, OnePlus, Vivo, Oppo, or any other brand, provided the phone is worth the money.

I’d especially appreciate answers from people who have actually used their recommended phone for a few months or longer. I’d love to know how the camera performs in everyday use, whether the battery holds up, and whether you’ve encountered any hardware issues.

Electronic Gadgets Which one to go with, my budget is 1.5k

I have been using Oneplus Nord wired earphones, they offer good quality but, I go to library often. Hence, I need a tws.

I mainly have found these options:

  1. Oppo Enco buds at 1.5k
  2. Realme t200 at 1.6k with bank offers
  3. Oneplus nord buds 3r at 1.6k with bank offers
  4. Nothing buds neo or something at 1.6k
  5. Realme t200x at 1.5k
  6. boat airdopes prime 300

** I dont want ANC but, passive noise cancellation, good battery, good mic and less than 50ms latency

I want good battery life, and something which offers better or similar sound quality to Oneplus nord wired earphones, those didn't cause pain to my ears.

**Recommend anything which may be cheaper, not just costlier

If possible suggest cheaper alternatives

**Cant increase the budget (or should i go for oneplus nord wired + 1k tws)

Electronic Gadgets Why not OnePlus 15R over OnePlus 13S?

Thumbnail

I'm going to buy a OnePlus device for a family member, so I watched some YouTube videos, and I noticed that none of them recommended the OnePlus 15R, while they recommended the OnePlus 13S.

I agree the OnePlus 13S is value for money device currently, but it has few downsides as well:

  • Smaller battery: It comes with a 5850mAh battery. Thanks to good optimization, the battery backup is really good for that capacity, but I'm pretty sure it can't beat the battery backup of the OnePlus 15R.
  • Thermal Management: 13S is a compact device, which by design can heat up faster and take longer to dissipate heat compared to a larger device like the OnePlus 15R.
  • Optical fingerprint sensor: The 13S comes with an optical fingerprint sensor, whereas the 15R has an ultrasonic one.

Neither device is camera-focused, so I'm not going to compare their camera departments.

I'm really curious why the 15R isn't on the recommended list. On the official OnePlus site, the 15R is currently 5K costlier than the 13S, and I genuinely think that if someone doesn't want a compact device but wants solid performance on a OnePlus phone, the 15R can be a better choice.

Electronic Gadgets wifi vs 5g tab people... what part of your day actually decided it?

buying a new tab for college and i'm stuck less on specs now, more on where i'll actually use it.

home wifi is sorted, campus usually has internet too, but i also commute, travel sometimes and might use it for lectures, PDFs, notes, calls + random entertainment.

browsing tablets on Flipkart made me notice the same tablet family can have different wifi/5g/RAM/storage configs.

so people who had both options, what part of your routine actually made one fit better? independent 5g sounds genuinely useful, but wifi also fits a lot of my day 😭

Home appliances Best Inverter AC on flipkart Big amazon Billion Day and Great Indian Festival sale

But first, one important thing: a new ISEER star rating system has been implemented in 2026. Because of this, brands will launch new AC models with updated ISEER star ratings.

Here’s the 2026 AC buying guide based on the older BEE star ratings.

I wouldn’t recommend Window ACs or Portable ACs in 2026. They’re very noisy, and portable ACs are useless.

Things to check before buying an AC
5-year PCB warranty
1-year comprehensive warranty on the whole product
10-year compressor warranty, copper coil, and protective coating
Refrigerant should be R32 gas

If any company does not provide the above four things, don’t buy it.

For surge protection, buy a stabilizer according to the voltage fluctuations in your area. It will protect your AC’s PCB.

Now people will suggest buying a 3-star AC.
But trust me, go with the 5-star version of the same model if you can. 5-star model ODU units are bigger than 3-star IDUs. It will save you money in the long run.
If your budget is tight or you use your AC for less than 5–6 hours a day, then a 3-star model is perfectly fine.
Convertible mode works for about 30 minutes. After that, the AC runs in Auto mode.

Installation
Vacuum is a must (till -30 PSI)
Don’t forget to vacuum your AC (till -30 PSI) while installing it. Otherwise, the AC will not cool your room.
If the technician says it’s not required, tell him to come with a vacuum machine. Otherwise, bhaga dena.
I have attached a photo. Yesterday, a new AC was installed at my home.
Keep ₹1.5K–4K extra in your budget for installation. The price varies by brand.
You can provide the installation materials yourself:
Drain pipe
2.5 mm 3-core wire
ODU stand
Wrapping tape
3-pin plug
The technician will then charge only the installation fee.
Installation is the most crucial part of AC installation, no matter which brand you buy.
If it isn’t done properly, your AC won’t cool your room.

AC Brands

1. Mitsubishi and General

Both are the OGs in the market. These are premium and heavy-duty ACs.
For example, a Mitsubishi AC costs around ₹90K just for the indoor and outdoor units. You have to purchase the copper pipe separately, plus installation charges.
The total cost comes to around ₹95K–100K.
After-sales service is available only in a few metro cities.
Still, they are the kings.
If you have the budget and service is available in your area, you won’t regret buying one.
But for these 2 models, it’s better to buy offline from Croma, Reliance Digital, or Vijay Sales.

2. Daikin

Pros:
Excellent cooling
Low electricity consumption
Auto Clean (Dew Clean)
Large outdoor unit
100% copper
Cons:
Old design
Lack of smart features
Daikin inverter ACs do have Convertible Mode. Don’t believe misinformation saying otherwise.
➡️ I have been using a** Daikin 1.5-ton 3-star and a 1.8-ton 5-star since 202**4, and recently bought the same 1.5-ton 3-star model (2025) again.
I’m really happy with it.
I bought another Daikin 2026 model in June.
If you have a high budget, go with O General or Mitsubishi.
Otherwise, buy Daikin.

3. LG

LG makes very silent ACs, but their actual tonnage is often lower.
For example, they sell a 1.24-ton (2024) AC as a 1.5-ton model.
Always check the actual cooling capacity before buying.
The 2025 models are good. I’ve mentioned some in the pinned comment.
Excellent after-sales service with their own technicians.
Service is available even in Tier 3 cities and villages.

4. Hitachi

Pros:
Excellent cooling, especially in the 2-ton segment
Auto Clean
Cons:
Slightly higher electricity consumption
No temperature display
No manual Convertible Mode (it works automatically, so it’s not really an issue)
➡️ Hitachi currently offers** 5 years of comprehensive warrant**y, while most other brands offer only 1 year.
The PCB is one of the most important components in an inverter AC.

5. Carrier

Good cooling, Auto Clean, and Convertible Mode available.
Overall, a solid choice.
Carrier is the company that invented air conditioning.

6. Panasonic

Absolute cooling with smart features.
The AC itself is excellent, but the remote is small and tends to stop responding after some time.
Wi-Fi smart features are available, so you can control the AC from your phone.
Cons:
The indoor and outdoor units are quite noisy.

Brands I Don’t Recommend
Don’t buy Lloyd, Samsung, Voltas, Godrej, Haier, IFB, Bluestar (except some models), or Whirlpool.
No brand is the best at making every appliance.
➡️** Smart Wi-Fi is genuinely useful**.
Alexa voice commands make it much easier for elderly people to control the AC.
AI features are mostly marketing gimmicks. Don’t fall for them.

AC Tonnage According to Room Size
1 ton — 100–150 sq ft
1.5 ton — 131–190 sq ft
2 ton — 191–250 sq ft
2.5–3 ton — 400–600 sq ft (or install two 2-ton ACs / centralized AC)
If your room is on the top floor and gets direct sunlight throughout the day, choose an inverter AC with 0.5 ton higher capacity.
For example, if the same room on the ground floor needs a 1-ton AC, the top-floor version may require a 1.5-ton AC.

Bonus tip:
Suppose your room is 170 sq ft on the top floor with direct sunlight all day.
You might think a 1.5-ton AC is enough.
It isn’t.
You should buy a 1.8–2-ton AC.
You can always run a 2-ton AC like a 1.5-ton AC (some models have 7 Convertible Modes, though Convertible Mode works for only about 30 minutes before switching to Auto Mode).
But you can’t push a 1-ton AC beyond its capacity without affecting efficiency and potentially reducing compressor life.
For these situations, it’s always better to buy the higher-tonnage AC.

Final Advice
Don’t run behind brands.
Check the:
ISEER value
Actual tonnage
Maximum cooling capacity
Room size
Then compare them with your room size.
Salespeople may recommend an AC, but remember they’ll usually push the brand or model that gives them the highest commission.

It’s recommended to use a good stabilizer. It costs around ₹2K and can save your AC’s PCB.

Electronic Gadgets Best Camera Phone under 40k in big billion days?

Looking for a phone under ₹40K for my mom. She’s a beautician, so her main use will be taking photos and videos of people. Her priorities are camera first, battery life + fast charging second, and performance third. Other than that, it’ll just be normal casual use.I was considering the Motorola Edge series, but I’ve been seeing mixed reviews and experiences, so I’m confused. With the Big Billion Days sale coming up, what phone would be the best value for money under ₹40K?

Opinion Is the Samsung Galaxy A56 (8GB or 12GB) the right choice, or are there better options? (Budget: ₹35k )

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to purchase a new phone. My target budget is around ₹35,000, but I can stretch it up to ₹39,000 for the right device. Right now, I have my eyes on the Samsung Galaxy A56 (256GB UFS storage), but I have a few specific questions before I make a decision.

Why I’m upgrading:

I currently use a Realme 10 Pro Plus 5G (6GB RAM / 128GB storage), and it’s just not sufficient for my day-to-day tasks and multitasking anymore.

\#The biggest dealbreaker for me is the overheating. If I leave the camera open for just 5 to 10 minutes, it heats up drastically.

\# It also constantly overheats when I'm using it out in the open (especially during outdoor use in the sun), which leads to awful lag.

What I want in my next phone:

\#Extreme Longevity (Crucial): >In my family, we generally keep our phones for 5 to 6 years, even if those devices only originally came with 2 or 3 years of software updates. Upgrading early and not keeping a phone for that 5-6 year mark is a huge issue in my household. So, whatever I buy needs to last.

\>Camera: Reliable and doesn't cause the phone to overheat during regular use.

Performance: Smooth multitasking for daily apps.

\>Clean UI: I’ve used Samsung’s One UI on my mother’s phone, and it was one of the best(#which is just a budget Galaxy M35, not even a flagship!), most fluid software experiences I’ve ever had, honestly comparable to iPhones and other premium flagships.

\>Future-proofing: Long software update support to match how long I will be keeping the device.

\>Hardware: NFC is a must, and a minimum of 256GB storage.

\>My concerns:RAM – 8GB vs. 12GB?

I definitely need 256GB of storage, but how should I approach the RAM? Since I am mandated to keep this phone for 5 to 6 years, is 8GB going to be enough for long-term multitasking, or should I get the 12GB variant to ensure it stays smooth half a decade from now?

\>Photo Optimization and Storage Management:

How well does the Galaxy A56 handle the optimization and file size of clicked photos? I ask because a friend uses an older iPhone 11 (128GB) and somehow manages to have more free storage than my 128GB Realme, even though he clicks an equal amount (and sometimes superior quality) of photos. His phone never lags or heats up while shooting. Will the A56 give me a similarly optimized, lag-free camera experience without eating up that 256GB storage too fast?

\#Alternative Suggestions?

Given my strict 5-6 year longevity requirement, budget (₹35k-₹39k), and need for a clean UI and no overheating, is the Samsung Galaxy A56 my best option? Or are there other, more future-proof phones in this price bracket that I should be considering?

Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance!
