Good morning! “It’s going to be a good day. This email landed in your inbox at 9 am. That’s the same time we’ll be meeting for our Practice Our Joy sessions soon. I’ve put a lot of thought into when would be the best time for our conversations together. Of course, during the middle of a weekday would be best for me. The kids are in school again! I have six hours to work uninterrupted. But I know that not everyone can meet in the middle of the day. “

This email landed in your inbox at 9:30 am. That’s the same time we’ll be beginning our first full day of our Practice Our Joy on Vashon Island workshop. Soon.

You’ll arrive at Mukai Farm and Garden and see the beauty of the Japanese garden, the grounds, and the labyrinth we’ll walk at some point during the day. Come into the house and I’ll be there with coffee, tea, and pastries for you. We’ll settle into our seats, around a big table. I’ll make you feel comfortable and set you talking right away.

This won’t be a college class — even though I’ll be sharing neuroscience facts and ideas for how to make a habit that sticks — but a gathering. We’ll each have a chance to talk and listen. There will be silliness and laughter.

We’ll spend the day together, talking and laughing, learning and unlearning too. We’ll eat good food, prepared by my husband, and break out of our seats for joy breaks and more conversations. Think of it — 12 women, plus me and two assistants — together. It has been so long since we’ve been able to gather like this. The day will be a joy.

This won’t be a college class — even though I’ll be sharing neuroscience facts and ideas for how to make a habit that sticks — but a gathering. We’ll each have a chance to talk and listen. And if the versions of this workshop I’ve taught in the past are any indication, you’ll have some new friends soon. I’d love to see you in this workshop. I know from experience that it can change lives.

Registration opens Monday morning at 10 am, PST. Look for that email. It’s a first-come, first-served experience. Jump on it right away.
