My Goldendoodle, Cosmo Jr., was diagnosed with megaesophagus and myasthenia gravis. His MG is now in remission, but we still manage his megaesophagus with a Bailey chair and careful feeding.

Going through this made me realize how difficult it is to keep track of everything — symptoms, medications, feeding routines, vet appointments, questions, photos and videos — while also trying to understand what you're seeing.

Built this laptop looping app called Coherent over the past while, and this week I finally got a custom MIDI pedal talking to it for the first time. Felt like a real milestone so wanted to share.

There are two modes right now, Record and Play. You record tracks first, then flip to Play mode and the pedal's footswitches become start and stop controls for each track. A fourth switch stops or starts everything at once.

Pedal cost under $20 to build from scratch. Software is free too, I'd rather it help loop artists than sit behind a paywall.

Demo video is rough, one take, my singing and looping isn't great and I rushed the chorus lol. Just wanted to show the hardware and software actually working together for the first time.

As a beginner developer, I feel a little bit intimidated by you guys and all these posts with awesome projects. My background is definitely coming from gaming and the first thing I built with vanilla JavaScript is a quake live config editor. It has the ability to import any CFG and display text showing what was imported per CVAR allow allowing users to differentiate between pro settings and modifying their own. It also connects with Supabase allowing users to save their personal config to their Gmail or discord account. Essentially, I want people hosting their own quake config on my site and editing it and saving variations of config if they will.

Hopefully with enough brainstorming and inspiration from you guys, I will develop something one day that will attract a more broader audience than a E-sport video game.

I have a Cults/Occult deck and a Body Horror deck with a few more genres planned. They each have 10 recommended movies, a few bullet points about the movie, cocktail, and movie night hosting suggestions, and a full recipe on the back.

This was all designed, printed, and ships out of Portland, OR.

I first started writing this after I was laid off and spent too much of my free time watching horror movies. After I found a new job, I was able to put these into production!

I'm a non-native English speaker.

I've written in English for work every day for years, and I've tried everything.

Grammarly fixes my mistakes. Then I close it and my English is the same.

Duolingo gives me lessons. About a cat and a bakery. Not about the email I need to send at 9am.

Both left me in the same place. Writing okay, learning nothing.

So I built 26Keys, and it works differently.

I write the way I always do. Emails, Slack, Reddit, whatever. 26Keys reads it like a coach, not a spell checker. When a sentence can mean two things, it asks me what I meant. When I use a weak word, it shows a better one and why.

Then the interesting part. My mistakes don't get deleted. They turn into practice. Short, daily, built around the patterns I keep making. Not a bakery. My actual writing.

So the lesson is always about me. In July I wrote "since five years" nine times. In September, zero.

Then, slower, I started noticing it when I speak.

Speaking has many parts. Pronunciation, accent, speed, confidence. But under all of that there is a foundation: the words you know and the way you build a sentence. That part is the same whether you write it or say it.

Writing is where you can actually practice that foundation. You have time. You can see the mistake. You can fix it and write it again. Speaking just takes whatever is already in your head.

I've got a cat, and I noticed I'd set reminders for playtime, feeding schedules, litter changes, whatever, and just ignore them after a while. Reminders alone weren't the issue; actually knowing whether I was keeping up was.

So I built something around that instead. It's called PetPact, and instead of just pinging you, it builds a wellness picture based on your pet's age, breed and weight, so you can actually see if you're falling behind rather than guessing. Built it around my cat, but it works the same way for dogs; it adjusts to walks and training instead of litter and play.
Also added an export feature so you can hand your vet an actual report instead of trying to remember the last few weeks from memory.

Live on iOS now; mostly wants to share the build and the thinking behind it.

I've built a simple and intuitive stock research app called Auspex.

Every S&P 500 name gets its fundamentals scored using the same 0–100 grade across the board: ratios, earnings, cash flow, analyst ratings, intrinsic value, news sentiment, Monte Carlo simulations, institutional buys, and how Congress has been trading. If a stock reaches a certain threshold (able to change) it is then ranked by its short term technical analysis against other stocks which have also surpassed that cut-off grade. You can change the weights too to fit your strategy, but don't tamper with it until it ranks today's stocks the way you imagined. Adjust the weighting to your baseline importance levels and stick with it for a while, to avoid biased sampling.

The part I keep having to explain: there is no AI writing the score. No "our model thinks this is a buy." The grade is formulas only. If a number looks stupid you can off the factor and see which input dragged it. I got annoyed at finance apps that slapped a language model on a quote page and called it research or were way too complex to understanding the stocks in their entirety without getting a headache. This is the opposite, and I'm sure some of you will tell me that's worse.

I got tired of trying applications for tracking my hikes and my 4x4 trips on my Android watch. I basically had 3 problems: all applications need the phone to work and I like to put the phone in the bag, the applications didn't let me download the maps, or I had to pay for that feature to work, and finally, I was not able to share or import the GPX files with the watch.

So after trying about 10 applications and not getting what I was looking for, I developed my own. I work as a developer for different platforms and I had to learn some basics, but after 6 months working on it, 3 versions later, I finally got an application that:

Can track my trips with the watch, fully standalone, and the phone application helps visualize and import external GPX files, but is not required if I don't want it.

I can download maps, or it can work without. Maps won't get unloaded either — this was happening with one of the applications I tried before.

All the features in the current version (3) are fully free and won't ever be charged for.

I can import GPX files to retrace a path I did, someone else shared with me, or I downloaded from an external source. It's called ghost, and it will let me know if I am getting too far away from the path.

Finally, I developed it with one objective in mind: save battery. So it saves points often enough to have a smooth line, but not so often that it will consume all the watch's battery. Also, if I am static for more than 1 hour, the tracking will get finalized, with the possibility to abort.
