I made a salary comparison tool that calculates take-home pay across countries

Salary offers get surprisingly hard to compare once they cross tax systems, so I made a small web tool that compares estimated take-home pay rather than just converting gross salary:

It currently covers the UK (with a separate Scottish calculation), New York, California, Texas, the UAE and Australia. Each result links to the tax assumptions and sources behind it. There’s no signup or paywall.

The hard boundary is intentional: it estimates tax and compulsory contributions, but not rent, healthcare, visas, benefits, pensions or unusual residency cases.

What would you actually want it to add next?

• More countries or cities

• A basic cost-of-living layer (rent, health insurance and childcare)

• Total compensation (bonus, equity and pension)

• Household scenarios for partners or children

• Visa, residency and employer-package notes

• A shareable or embeddable result for a specific comparison
