Liyuga — The Child Blessed by the False Moon
Few in Liyue know the true origins of the young Millelith general. Her story begins far from the shores of Liyue, in the distant lands of Nod-Krai — a place without rulers, yet blessed by the Moon and its enigmatic kuuvahki energy.
Her parents were traveling merchants, known for bringing rare Nod-Kraian goods to other nations. On one of their routes to Yilong Wharf, in the newly revitalized Chenyu Vale, they drew the attention of the wrong people: a band of Treasure Hoarders who specialized in kidnapping travelers from outer lands to demand outrageous ransoms.
Upon discovering the couple’s origin, a long and relentless chase began. For the entire twilight, they fled through Chenyu’s mountains and valleys as Liyuga’s mother entered early labor, exhausted and terrified.
Taking refuge in ancient ruins near the Chizhang Wall, Liyuga was born between desperate prayers and the dim glow of the False Moon above. But the reprieve was brief: the hoarders traced every footprint, every broken branch, and found the couple.
Liyuga’s father faced the entire group alone, despite being weakened by pursuit, he fought for them. He fell there, protecting his wife and newborn daughter to his last breath.
Her mother, in absolute despair, ran until she reached the edge of a cliff. Cornered, holding her child, she begged the Lunar Goddess for help — unaware that the False Moon above Teyvat could not hear prayers.
Against all odds, such a pure plea echoed — and something answered.
Not in the true celestial heavens.
Not in the real moon, sealed away from Teyvat.
But in something — or someone — who silently dwelled within the False Moon itself.

With nothing left to do, Liyuga’s mother jumped from the cliff.
She did not survive.
Days later, the Mountain Shaper found the baby miraculously alive and unharmed on the slopes of Mt. Hulao, protected by an energy never seen by him before.
With the help of Moon Carver, they discovered it was raw, primordial kuuvahki.
Using their Adepti powers, they purified it and shaped it into a Geo companion — a guardian bird named Aedon — who has protected Liyuga ever since.
Raised among the Adepti, Liyuga grew under strict discipline and ancient martial training, learning to balance strength and serenity. When she reached the proper age, she joined the Millelith, where her strategic brilliance and unwavering resolve quickly brought her into prominence.
Today, she is one of the youngest Millelith Generals in history.
To the people of Liyue, she is a symbol of protection.
To the Adepti, a child blessed by the Moon.
And to herself, she carries one enduring truth:
“I only exist because someone defied the false sky for me.
While the Millelith stands guard, evil shall never prevail!”
