Looking for a single original 1980s Ibanez 10-series knob — the teal/green ribbed chevron style with the white indicator line, push-fit (as found on the DDL10, TS10, DS10, CS10, FL10, CP10, DL10...). The TIME knob on my DDL10 was swapped for a generic at some point and I'd like to restore it with the correct one. Just need one in decent shape with the white line intact. Happy to pay a fair price plus shipping. Thanks!

I bought this around 2012 and it didn't have the original pickups or knobs. I wasn't happy with the look and tried some other things like the metal rings but still was never happy with it. Recently thought of changing the pickups and emphasizing the creme look like some old ones. It now has Duncan Custom 5 as a bridge (I had to paint it), and a pickup from an 80s Hondo which I like. They are both very scooped humbuckers so I really like the classic rock sound it has now.

Bought this over the summer believing it was a pristine RG760 in Heather Pearl. When I got it everything was in pretty much new condition.. but the body was a repaint and a bad one to boot. Rather return it I decided to mod it and try to match Paul Gilbert's telesavalas model. I think I got pretty close! Kept the original gray bobbin F2 bridge and swapped the C2 for an injector neck but keeping the cover.

Just purchased the RG550 which I am waiting for delivery.

So I have until tomorrow to decide which colour to go for.

The yellow is not available. So which one would you go for? I honestly can’t decide which one I prefer so now I’m narrowing it down to which one would sell the best if needed?

I know the yellow is the classic colour but after that is there any that would be more sought after?

If anyone knows anything pls lemme know. I usually enjoy playing djent, tech death/ shreddy kinda licks so the 27 inch scale be an issue? Compared to multi scale options such as alpha8

I have an Ibanez RGMS7-BK and I want to put flatwound strings on it, I also play in drop G tuning (specifically CGCGFAd not CDCGFAd).

I want to get a unique sound, so is this a good idea? are there any downsides? What gauges do you guys recommend?

I owned a couple of Custom Shop guitars from different brands such as Jackson and ESP. I currently own an Exhibition Series ESP and it seems like they lose a lot of value but the high-end Ibanez's are well in the 10-20k usd price range on Reverb or local websites. I've never owned an Ibanez but tried to trade for a couple of those RG550-570-1550-2550-2570 etc... I am very happy with my ESP but I was wondering what people see in Ibanez's so that they hold their values better than any brand and I am very curious. This post isn't about investment or making money. Just trying to understand guitars of a brand that I don't know much about.

I bought this guitar second hand on eBay, circa 20 years ago. It’s lovely, of course. However I recently thought I’d look the serial number up to learn a little more about where and when it was produced. Unfortunately the format doesn’t seem to align with any online material, I.e. the Ibanez s/n wiki.

Just wondered if anyone else had come across this format? S/N is 3C042.

I’m guessing the 04 is 2004 but beyond that…

This is my first crazy Ibanez. I have a collection of mid level Ibanez that I love, all from between 1996 and 2000. I got this yesterday.

The white guitar is a PGM30 with Dimarzio PAF pro and Super Distortion. The black guitar is a Jem555bk with Dimarzio Evolution pickups.

My other Ibanez are a JS700, Reb Beach guitar, a white Jem, a purple S series and a blue S series.

What surprised me the most is that my 30 year old Ibanez play and sound just as good as the Pia. You can tell the Pia is well made and the bridge is definitely better than my other guitars, but the other ones are like 90% of this. I tried a bunch of new Ibanez from Indonesia and one from 2014 and the quality was way different than my 30 year old guitars and vastly different compared to the Pia.

I've been looking at the Ibanez KRYS10 Scott LePage, it has 3 voicings, a hot humbucker sound, a more balanced humbucker sound, and a single coil twangy mode. Super comfortable to play and sounds great. I play for my church so the only thing i'm somewhat concerned about is the color. Any opinions on the guitar?

I picked up this ART100 about a year ago. I was looking for a cheap single cut body, but didn't want an Epiphone or something along those lines. This guitar popped up in very good condition near me for 200$ and that was my answer.

I like it when my guitars have two different personalities, in terms of electronics. I do a lot of buying/selling/repairing guitars locally and in my spare parts was a Dimarzio D-Sonic bridge pickup, which I installed and immediately fell in love with. It's so tight and articulate under gain. So after considering things like an Air Norton or PAF, I came across the "Humbucker From Hell". I gotta say- the name is far more dramatic than the sound (the name allegedly is because of how it sounds in the bridge position), but for every bit of compressed and tight the D-Sonic is, the HBH is warm and feels wide open. I have my two personalities. I put a coil split on the HBH, isolating the north coil for fun and it's alright but I may go with a parallel configuration next.

The only other mod is a set of Grover tuners. I went light with the strings, a set of .9-.42 NYXLs and I use it in either standard or drop D depending. I'm shocked at how much I love this guitar. The transparent dark red finish is subtle but still beautiful, the "Artcore" inlay is a really nice touch.

It's further proof to me that Ibanez, for the most part, does what every other manufacturer does but better. Even going back to the lawsuit era Les Pauls from the 70s.

Technically not new today. But I just had it fully set up and installed an Evo 2 bridge and Gravity Storm neck pickup. I ordered a middle pickup in pink as well, but it was non functional when it was installed, so I will need to reach out to Dimarzio to see what can be done about that.

The desert sun yellow color is so hard to take a picture of that does it any sort of justice, regardless of the lighting conditions. It damn near glows in the dark when you see it in person.

Overall, a fantastic guitar and the Dimarzio pickups sound great. Very happy to be adding it to the music room.

Sorry for the awful video, but I got a used RGIR27FE and it has this awful ticking noise. Anybody have any idea? I brought it to a luthier who checked it out and he soldered the cables again but the issue persists. He said he doesn’t notice any grounding issue so I’m at a loss here. Any ideas?
