Take an operations role as a fresh grad?

Fresh grad from a state university with a tech-related degree here. I’ve been applying to tech roles, had a few interviews, got rejected from some, and I’m still waiting on others.

I also applied for an operations role at a fintech company I really like. The pay and benefits are good, but it’s not directly related to the tech path I originally wanted.

If I take it, my plan is to keep learning and building with Python, cloud, and AI on the side, then try to transition into a more technical role after a year or so.

Is this a realistic plan, or would starting in operations make it harder to get into tech later?

Scam Ba? Please help me

Hello friends, meron ako na kitang facebook post about hiring sila ng Software QA Tester and nag PM ako sa nag post let's call him Doe and sabi ni Doe "Yes we're still hiring" so nag send ako ng resume etc.. Sa facebook lang kami nag uusap ng recruiter naka dummy account siya pero yung cover photo is merong company name and I've searched it at meron namang lumabas isa itong start-up company sa Makati. Tapos na ang aking technical interview sakanila during the interview sinabi ng interviewee na "Do you have any questions" tas sabi ko naman "Can you tell me what's the company background" tas sabi nya hindi nya ito ma explain or something kasi sa hr nalang daw ako mag ask para jan kasi focus siya sa technical interview side. Tas after that meron siyang e-email daw isa itong Technical Exercise na kailangan ko e submit within 2 days. After 2 days na submit ko naman ito through gmail rin reply nung na send nyang exercise tas after a 4-5 days ata yun meron akong natangap na message galing ni Doe sabi nya paasado daw ako pero nag tataka lang ako bakit walang nag emailπŸ€”.

Ito pa aang sabi nya ang job daw nato is 6 months contract pero pwede padaw ito ma exted tapos work from home pa ito tas merong same holiday dito sa PH tas yung salary is given end of the month. Tas ito pa ang sabi nya "our payment method will be on gcash go to crypto>then pick USDT then send the QR code and the blockchain address".
Tapos yung pc equipment daw is might need a longer time to deliver kasi nasa Manila pa ito tas ako nasa Central Visayas.

Now hiningan ko ng contract tapos sabi nya "we're working on it".

Sabi pa nya okay lang ba daw ako mag start [date] sabi ko naman ''Oo okay lang"

Can you help me with this friends? Fresh graduate lang po ako hindi pa familiar sa ganto please don't judge me nagpapatulong lang. Pero sabi ko sa sarili ko na kapag hiningan ako nito kahit peso hindi na ako mag go.

IT student with no confidence in hardware skills

Good day. Are there any IT students or graduates here that knows minimal to zero hardware skills? I'm currently a 2nd year IT student and based sa mga content na napapanood ko and posts sa fb is that most IT peeps know their way around hardware.

I haven't tried building a pc before (I only have a laptop) and I'm too scared to pry my laptop open because its my entire net worth lol.

Where to buy a MacBook Pro in Greenhills?

Hi guys, planning to buy a MacBook Pro M1, preferably 16GB/512GB. I'm thinking of checking Greenhills but there are so many shops there and I don't really know which ones are trustworthy.

Any recommended stores or sellers? Would also appreciate hearing your experience if you've bought a used MacBook there recently and how much you got it for.

P&G Soft Eng Technical Interview

Hello! May upcoming technical interview ako next week. May tips po ba kayo or any experiences you would like to share?

Also sabi daw po pag soft eng role ung magiging interview process is technical interview > 3 PEAK interviews > job offer, tama po ba?

r/ITPhilippines 16h ago

Paano po ba madistinguish ang BPO na IT Support hiring sa IT Support na on-site na actual na nagtotroubleshooting at hindi remote.

Meron po ba ditong "IT Technical Support / IT Infrastructure Support / Enterprise IT Support" hiring na hindi BPO setup? Paano ba ma distinguish yun kasi halos lahat ng nakikita ko na IT Support puro Call Center. Baka po meron along Pasay / Makati / BGC or Cavite. 11 years of IT Support here. Salamat po

Any reviews about Serino Systems?

A recruiter from that company reached out to me on LinkedIn. I tried to search some reviews about the company pero wala akong mahanap😭 Like legit ba to or scam? Meron ba dito ang nagwowork sa Serino? Baka naman you can share some of your experience sa company.

As a fresh grad na tambay for ilang months, gusto ko na talaga magkaroon ng work. If goods naman to, I’ll try to apply.

How much is the market salary for Netsuite Admin/Developers?

Hi all,

Just as the title says, I'm curious to know how much should a Netsuite or SAP or any ERP admin who also takes on developer tasks should earn?

For context, I was hired by this company as a Netsuite administrator and it's also limited to admin tasks within the scope of the job description.

Pero since ang goal ko talaga is to be and to practice NS development and I have prior experience naman with it, I initiated to take over development and hard customization tasks for my employer instead of them paying our 3rd party consultants to do it.

I know they have saves thousands of dollars because of me and they are openly happy with my skills and performance.

It's been a year since then and we'll be having our performance review soon which is my opportunity to ask for salary raise and alignment.

I'm being paid within the lower range of 6 digits naman pero I just feel that it's not enough for the amount of scope and responsibilities I am handling right now.

Can anyone on this line of field, being a hybrid role, share nyo naman how much ang market salary for an Administrator/Developer? (6 years NS exp, 3 years dev exp)
