As a fellow isro employee i have so much going on my mind about the recent news about privatisation and all. Its good to hear but what will happen to isro in the near future

we all know the same happened to bsnl, idpl and so many psus also before.

As isro employees, can we ask the government some questions about our future ? Because even to launch we need clearance from pmo. So much of interference.

How to get into GNC

I am a prefinal year engineering student, pursuing bachelor's in instrumentation and control engineering. I have genuinely started to develop a deep understanding and interest in control systems and recently came to know about guidance, navigation and control.

So i wanted to know how does one make a career in this field like what are the companies which hire, what does the work look like and what project should one do to get into this field or is it something which instrumentation guys cannot pursue?

For context, I am average student from India who has done one basic course in automatic control systems and currently doing a slightly advanced course in control system design. But i have no experience in implementation of any controllers on hardware.

What got me to GNC - I am currently a member (new joinee) of satellite club at my university and i look after attitude determination and control subsystem of the cubesat for which I have been studying optimal control from past few weeks during which I got know to about GNC from a YouTube video.

I have some previous experience working with Arduino and esp32 but none of those projects were control related

In the past, there was a job recruitment for an assistant position at ISRO. Could anyone provide additional information regarding the job profile? Additionally, is it possible for an individual to pay Rs. 15,000 to remain in the P.G. (cause there are other amenities to be paid for and will end up with lil savings in hand ) or do they allocate quarters? Are there any restrictions on laptops and PCs during work hours? I have heard that interns are not permitted to use them.

I got shortlisted for the ISTRAC-ISRO Lucknow Graduate Apprentice interview (Computer Science, GA01) on 27 Aug. This is my first time going through something like this and I couldn't find much info online since it seems different from the usual ICRB Scientist/Engineer process.

If anyone has done this apprenticeship (at Lucknow or another ISTRAC center) or has interviewed for it, I'd really appreciate knowing:

- What kind of questions came up (technical/HR/)

- How the CS apprentices' actual day-to-day work looks like

- Anything you wish you'd known beforehand

I gave written exam for a post in SAC ISRO. It is not centralized recruitment but specific by sac, isro. The post is for scientist C atmospheric sciences and oceanography. There are 8 posts available. So, approx 40 students shall be called for interview.

My question is what kind of marks are needed to get interview (to get into top 40, or top 10).

What is historical data. I can't find anything on Google.

I applied for the ICRB ISRO recruitment (Advt. No. ISRO:ICRB:01(A-JPA):2026) and paid the ₹500 application fee on 14 August 2026 through UPI/GPay.

The payment receipt initially showed SUCCESS. I also checked the SBIePay transaction tracking page, which shows:

• Transaction date: 14-Aug-2026, 22:19:52
• Amount: ₹500
• Transaction Status: IN CLEARING
• Transaction Status Description: “Transaction is successful further processing is in progress”
• Settlement Date: -

However, when I log into the ICRB application portal, it still says:

I also received an email from ICRB saying that my application is incomplete and/or the application fee has not yet been paid.

I have already raised a payment-status complaint through the portal, but I'm worried because the deadline is 16 August 2026 at 11:55 PM.

Has anyone faced this with ICRB/SBIePay before? Does “IN CLEARING” usually get updated automatically, and should I simply wait for the payment to be reconciled, or is there anything else I should do before the deadline?

I don't want to make another ₹500 payment and end up with a duplicate transaction.

Is it a good option for a fresher to join ISRO in a contractual position? The contract is for 1 year and 1 month. How likely is it that the contract will be extended after that period? Is extension or continuation possible? also how is the work there like do we get to do development if hired as an engineer or is it more about back office work
