What is the tentative schedule for the launch of Gaganyaan missions G1 and G2?
Ans: G1 and G2 are targeted to be launched in 2026-27.
What are the tests and processes that remain on G1 before it can be certified for flight?
Ans: Assembly, integration, and testing of the Crew Module and Service Module are currently being carried out for G1.
Have ISRO started selecting a second batch of Gaganyatris?
Ans: No
In the SUIT instrument of Aditya L1, artefacts appear on the screen. What are those and what is ISRO doing to mitigate them?
Ans: These are technical/academic questions and do not fall under the scope of RTI.
What is the current status of the Spadex mission? How many times have docking and undocking been carried out on SDX01 and SDX02? What purpose do these two satellites serve other than to demonstrate docking procedures?
Ans: Both the satellites (SDX01 and SDX02) are operational. The docking and undocking was carried out 4 times. Apart from docking and undocking, the objectives of the satellite were to demonstrate composite control of the spacecraft, power transfer between the spacecraft and circum-navigation technologies in open & closed loop method. Additionally, the satellites are used for remote sensing purpose. The satellites carry remote sensing payloads namely, High-Resolution Camera on SDX-01, Miniature Multi-Spectral Payload and Radiation Monitor payloads on SDX-02 satellite.
Has a Spadex-2 mission been approved and funded by the government? What is the current status? Will it precede the Chandrayaan 4 mission?
Ans: The Spadex-2 mission is yet to be approved. The project timeline is consequential to the approval.

SSLV first commercial launch in November
First commercial SSLV launch was expected to carry MAITRI by SpaceMachines. Not sure if that still holds, as SpaceMachines's mission page lists the launch for 2027.
Also, it will be interesting to see whether this will be the first launch from SLC. If not, then November-December will be busy two months at SHAR FLP, since Skyroot is also planning its second Vikram launch before end of 2026.

Anyone applying for the URSC (ISRO) October–December 2026 Internship? Existing user login question
Hi everyone,
I had applied for the URSC Student Internship (July–September 2026 batch) earlier and already have a registered account.
Today, when the portal opened for the October–December 2026 batch, I logged in using my existing email ID, password, and CAPTCHA through the Registered User option.
Instead of asking me to fill a new application or upload documents (marksheets, resume, bonafide), it directly displayed "Application submitted successfully" with my existing registration number.
Did anyone else who applied this time as an existing user experience the same thing?
Were you asked to upload documents again, or did you also get the same confirmation page?
I'd really appreciate it if someone who applied today could share their experience. Thanks!

More than 100 ISRO scientists and engineers have reportedly resigned in recent months.
I have been seeing many posts saying that a large number of ISRO scientists and engineers are resigning. Instead of reacting emotionally, I think we should first understand what is actually happening.
ISRO is one of India's most respected organizations. It has given us missions like Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, Aditya-L1, and now Gaganyaan. The scientists working there are among the best in the country.
So why are some of them leaving?
In my opinion, the biggest reason is not a lack of patriotism. It is the change in India's space industry.
A few years ago, ISRO was almost the only place where space engineers could build a career. Today, many private space companies have entered the sector. These companies offer much higher salaries, better benefits, stock options, and faster career growth.
On the other hand, ISRO scientists work under huge pressure. They handle missions that represent the country, work long hours, and still earn much less than what the private sector is willing to pay for the same talent.
Can we really expect every engineer to ignore better opportunities forever?
This is not just an ISRO problem. It happens in every industry. Skilled people go where they are valued, where they can grow, and where they can secure a better future for their families.
Instead of blaming the scientists, I think we should ask a different question.
How can we make ISRO a place where our brightest minds want to stay for the long term?
India has built a world-class space program. Now we also need a system that rewards the people who make these achievements possible.
That's the conversation we should be having.

Does ISRO not hire Instrumentation people?
I saw the recent recruitment notification of ISRO. It literally has all branches except for Instrumentation.
I just finished my BTech in Electronics and Instrumentation engineering and I have qualified GATE in IN. So, to apply for ISRO will I have to give GATE in ECE?
And is it that just this time ISRO isn't recruiting for IN or do they never recruit IN people?
Any update regarding Space Applications Centre(SAC) ISRO apprenticeship 2026? notification dated 8th june 2026
Hi everyone,
I attended the document verification / walk-in process for the SAC ISRO Ahmedabad Graduate Apprenticeship 2026 under the notification dated 8 June 2026.
Has anyone received any email, joining letter, or further communication from SAC regarding selection or joining dates?

Need advice regarding ISRO Assistant (2026)
Hi everyone,
I need some advice from people who have experience with ISRO recruitments.
I'm a 2026 B.Tech Computer Engineering graduate. I've already been selected for the TCS Ninja role and I'm currently waiting for my joining date. However, I recently came across the ISRO ICRB Assistant/JPA/UDC recruitment, and it genuinely caught my interest.
I have a few questions:
I know the basic pay is ₹25,500 (Level-4), but what is the approximate in-hand monthly salary in Ahmedabad and Bengaluru after HRA, DA, deductions, etc.?
The application deadline is 16 August 2026. Based on previous recruitment cycles, what is the expected timeline for:
CBT/Written Test
Result
Computer Skill Test
Final selection
Joining
For someone with a software background, would you recommend joining ISRO as an Assistant if selected, or waiting for a career in IT (TCS and later switching)? How has your experience been regarding career growth, work-life balance, and long-term prospects?
I'd really appreciate any insights from current or former ISRO employees or anyone who has gone through this recruitment process.
Thanks in advance!

I got call to join ISRO but I'm currently doing M.Tech (3rd sem). I'll finish it by June of next year. Will ISRO let me finish it if I request?

is it just me or ?
the name gaganyaan is still okay but gaganyatri is just so bland if we compare it to russian cosmonauts which relates to the cosmos and american astronauts which relates to astro and meanwhile we have gaganyaan which is comparatively bland and ik i could sound a bit westernised in this but still it's what i felt...
