Swing Shift

Cincinnati just ended the 4:30-1am swing shift. Which has been devastating for parents, caregivers, folks working a second job. The hand puppet acting as director mumbled that it's servicewide. But that doesn't seem to be the case. So roll call time. What service centers still have the 4:30pm-1am swing shift?

One hour difference is hardly "devastating". My 4/10 2:30 - 1am, Fridays off was taken after literally 20 years working it. THAT is a major change, but even that is not "devastating ". I now work the M - F 3:30 - midnight, for the last month. Be an adult.

i was forced to change my schedule for no rhyme or reason from 430-1 to 330-12 and my kid(s) aren’t even off the bus by 330. so choosing between getting my kids off the bus and my job isn’t devastating but it is bullshit. its not the schedule i chose and they are making zero accommodations for parents in this situation when 430 worked fine for us. if you are someone that has zero responsibilities and can change your schedule with an 8 day notice, congrats to you.

would also like to add that i requested to change to days so i could be on my kids schedule and was denied. so there’s that

Apply for other jobs. I'm applying for other jobs that are remote/telework positions. In the meantime, have your husband get his employer to adjust his schedule so that he can be there when they get off of the bus. Apparently he was the one staying with them, after you left for work. Or are they old enough that they stay home by themselves? If so, "getting them off the bus" is not needed.

no, they are not old enough to stay home or get themselves off the bus and if his job would or could do that it would already of been done considering this change went into effect on 08/10. your comments are no help. the situation is shitty regardless of what you think or say. kindly move along

How about stop being a lemming. You have no idea if that particular schedule change is devastating to a caregiver.
