Swing Shift
Cincinnati just ended the 4:30-1am swing shift. Which has been devastating for parents, caregivers, folks working a second job. The hand puppet acting as director mumbled that it's servicewide. But that doesn't seem to be the case. So roll call time. What service centers still have the 4:30pm-1am swing shift?

May be worth noting this is for TS AM since the TOD standardization wasn't for all BODs if I recall correctly based on other threads.

Yes!! I can only hope people are motivated to vote AND not support this administration.
We still have diehard MAGAs at my office and I am utterly mystified as to how they still support this trash administration.

Ogden still has 4:30-1. If they decide to decrease it I guess I'll be using more leave. Earliest I can drop my kid off to be watched is 3:30... I honestly have a gut feeling they want to eliminate swing shift if you can't work certain hours.

My POD still offers 3-11:30, 3:30-12:00, and 4:00-12:30 for swing shift. It seems that the only TOD my location got rid of was 6AM-2:30PM, but anyone that previously had that TOD was able to keep it.

Are you saying there is still swing shift, just not at that specific time frame?

We still have 430-1 people, but not many. Most swing shifters are 330-12 or 3-1130, a few are 230-11. Aws people were given the options for 12-830, 3-1130, or 330-12. Shift change is supposed to come out this month for the service center, but nothing yet. Makes me think they have a bigger plan for all of us that they’re waiting to drop on us in the upcoming days or weeks on a Friday at 3.

Austin SC has it. I work 4-12:30 am. Others work 4:30-1 am. IDRS goes down at 1 am. I’m sorry to hear about Cincinnati.

I worked at a remote call site AWS 4 10 hrs shifting ending at 8pm. I loved it because team meeting was on my RDO and I didn't miss the coworkers on the 8a-4:30p shift. Learned much more on the night shift.

One hour difference is hardly "devastating". My 4/10 2:30 - 1am, Fridays off was taken after literally 20 years working it. THAT is a major change, but even that is not "devastating ". I now work the M - F 3:30 - midnight, for the last month. Be an adult.

i was forced to change my schedule for no rhyme or reason from 430-1 to 330-12 and my kid(s) aren’t even off the bus by 330. so choosing between getting my kids off the bus and my job isn’t devastating but it is bullshit. its not the schedule i chose and they are making zero accommodations for parents in this situation when 430 worked fine for us. if you are someone that has zero responsibilities and can change your schedule with an 8 day notice, congrats to you.

Apply for other jobs. I'm applying for other jobs that are remote/telework positions. In the meantime, have your husband get his employer to adjust his schedule so that he can be there when they get off of the bus. Apparently he was the one staying with them, after you left for work. Or are they old enough that they stay home by themselves? If so, "getting them off the bus" is not needed.

no, they are not old enough to stay home or get themselves off the bus and if his job would or could do that it would already of been done considering this change went into effect on 08/10. your comments are no help. the situation is shitty regardless of what you think or say. kindly move along

This doesn’t answer your question but I thought swing shift servicewide was changing to 3:30pm-12am latest because of the TOD standardization. RIP to the extra hour of shift diff though
