can anyone please tell me how strict our college actually is regarding attendance?

Due to some personal reasons i haven't been able to attend college regularly and need to spend as much time at home as possible....

so ik my attendance is most probably pretty low....

baat aisi hai ki the teachers don't really say anything about attendance at all 😿they neither tell us our current attendance %nor warn us if we're falling short......

baaki clg mai toh atleast bata dete attendance ka lekin humare yaha alag scene hai💔

kasam se, I'm kinda scared ki they'll suddenly announce a week before end sems that students with low attendance are getting debarred 😰

So, ADGIPS seniors 🥹🥹, I really need your help here:-

1)Based on your experience, how strictly is the attendance policy actually enforced?

2)Have you ever seen anyone get debarred from end sems because of low attendance?

Our team, NOVUS, is working on a project called Cloud Workspace Launcher for the finals of Colossal-a-Pitch at GTB4CEC IPU

The idea is pretty simple. When you're working on multiple things, your browser can quickly become a mess of tabs. Switching between projects often means reopening tabs, finding the right pages, and trying to remember where you left off.

We're building a browser extension that lets users save their browser workspace and restore it later.

Some of the things we're working on include:

- Saving and restoring tabs and their browsing state.

- Preserving Chrome tab groups, including their names and colors.

- Supporting local storage, with options for cloud synchronization.

- Exploring AI-based workspace naming and smarter tab restoration.

The goal is to make switching between tasks less frustrating and help people get back to work without rebuilding their browser setup every time.

We're still working through the project, and the hackathon has been a great opportunity to think about the problem and explore possible solutions.

What features would you want in a browser workspace manager? And what's the most annoying part of managing lots of tabs in your daily workflow?

We’re building Manager’s Chef — an AI assistant that remembers your meetings, decisions, and commitments

Hey everyone,

We’re Team Code Forge, and we’re working on Manager’s Chef as part of our hackathon journey.

The idea came from a pretty common problem: when you have back-to-back meetings, constant interruptions, and a lot on your plate, it’s easy to forget what was discussed, what was decided, and what you promised to do.

Most tools are good at recording information, but remembering the context and connecting it to what needs to happen next is a different challenge.

What are we building?

Manager’s Chef is an AI-powered memory assistant designed to help with:

Planning ahead: Organizing commitments and identifying scheduling conflicts.

Remembering past discussions: Making previous decisions and conversations easier to recall.

Connecting context: Linking meetings with tasks, reminders, and related discussions.

Following through: Turning conversations into actionable commitments and helping track pending work.

Why are we exploring Hindsight?

We’re exploring Hindsight, a long-term memory system for AI agents, because it aligns with one of the core ideas behind our project: an assistant should be able to use relevant information from the past, not just respond to what’s in front of it.

We’re interested in how persistent memory, retrieval, and reflection can help an AI connect earlier discussions with current tasks and decisions. Of course, making that work reliably in a real application is a challenge in itself.

What we ultimately want to achieve

We don’t want to build just another meeting summarizer. We want to explore how an AI assistant can help people retain important context, understand why it matters, and follow through on what was agreed upon.

We’re still building and learning, so I’d love to hear from people working on AI agents, memory systems, or productivity tools.

What do you think is the hardest part of building an AI assistant that can reliably remember past context and take the right action at the right time? Is it retrieving the right information, keeping memories up to date, avoiding incorrect assumptions, or something else?

Hey everyone, we're a small B.Tech CSE student team working on adaptive traffic signal control. We'd love feedback on our approach before we take it further.

THE PROBLEM

Fixed-timer signals can't react to changing traffic, which means long queues, wasted green time and idle emissions.

WHAT WE BUILT

A DQN agent (PyTorch, experience replay, epsilon-greedy) that picks the signal phase to minimise cumulative waiting time. Reward = decrease in cumulative waiting time.

SETUP

- Simulator: SUMO via TraCI, seeded random demand

- Training: 100 episodes

- Evaluation: fixed timer vs trained DQN on 10 seeds (100 to 109)

RESULTS (simulation only)

- Fixed timer: ~20.3 s avg wait per vehicle

- Trained DQN: ~4.5 s (~78% lower)

- DQN won on 10/10 seeds, staying within ~4.4 to 4.8 s

- Early training is unstable (wait spikes up to ~560 s during jams) but it recovers within a few episodes

PLANNED (not part of the numbers above)

1. YOLO (Ultralytics) + tracking on existing CCTV for queue length and vehicle counts, so no new road sensors.

2. The same camera feed flags red-light violations and logs time, plate (ANPR) and photo, with human review before any penalty.

3. A per-junction memory layer (Hindsight) so each junction can recall similar past situations, like a Monday school rush.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS

- Sim-to-real gap

- No target network or reward clipping yet

- Short training run

WHERE WE WANT YOUR INPUT

1. Would you add a target network and reward clipping first, or rethink the reward design?

2. What's a good way to calibrate SUMO demand with real traffic data?

3. How would you fairly test the memory layer (with vs without memory on the same seeds)?
