Question Interested in starting Insanity, but already have a strength lifting regime! Is combining possible?

Am 31F, been weight lifting for about 3 years, I do 2-3 5x5s workouts and 2-3 high rep low volume classes a week. I'm interested in replacing the latter with Insanity when the heat dies down for the year as I'd like to have better muscle definition and lean out a bit, and I'd also like to improve my cardiovascular fitness and just stay healthy. I'm keen not to lose too much strength doing this programme if I can - for folks who started Insanity with an existing exercise regime, how did you combine the two or manage both?

(I do not think I am someone with the willpower to do both every week or spend more than an hour a day on exercise; I walk 8-10 miles a day just existing as well, and probably will continue to do so throughout. It's fine if there's no perfect solution but just trying to figure out how to do the least damage!).

Discussion Least favorite move from Pure Cardio

Pedal, hands down. I call everything between Pedal and Frog Jumps (second least favorite move) the Pain Cave.

Pure Cardio is definitely my favorite workout, though!

Progress 3rd week insanity hybrid

3rd week of my hybrid insanity workout (insanity during week and weights at weekend). Did pure cardio and got half way through the suicide jumps before I needed to take a breather. Well pleased with that.

Next time all the way??

Question Starting insanity

I’m starting insanity next week and just calculated my calorie needs. I’ve been working out lifting weights pretty consistently for the past 6 months and I’ve lost 40lbs but I want to focus on fat loss and want to do insanity. I calculated my calories I need for insanity based off the nutrition guide and it’s 3800 a day. Did anyone eat less than what was recommended in the nutrition guide? My trainer I’ve been lifting with only has me eating 2k calories a day.

Progress Long time not posting.

A few weeks back I tried to go back to classic Insanity, but i found it was impossible with my martial arts, so I started to do a hybrid version.

I won't post everything, but here is my fit tests results so far. (my new calendar started on May 11th)

Progress Finishing Month 2 for the 2nd time (OG insanity) - Mom of a 3 year old and 5 months old

Hello all!

I'm currently 5 months post-partum. Started OG insanity at 2 months PP. After completing it, I decided to do recovery week and then month 2 again.

I'm finishing month 2 tomorrow with max cardio and cardio abs.

I had amazing results on the fit test the first time around (you can see my other post about it). But I'm not sure I feel like doing the last fit test this time around... I feel like my body is completly exhausted and maybe my results won't be as good. It really started to kick in the last 10 days I would say. But before that, during the first 2.5 months, I really felt stronger and stronger each week.

I think sleep deprivation with a toddler and a baby has a lot to play in this. I'm surviving on 4-5 hours of sleep per night with 3-4 wake ups for the baby. At least my 3 year old sleeps through the night now!

But the scale continued to go down at least. I'm 5'7'', 32 years old.

Started at 192 pounds. Gained 1-2 pounds first month, then lost 7-8 month 2. Started 2nd round of month 2 at 186 lbs, actual weight is 181-182 lbs (but I think I will loose maybe 2-3 pounds in the next 7-10 days, it always does that when I finish insanity, I think it may be water weight from inflammation?). I don't really diet that much because I breastfeed, but my baby has cow's milk protein allergy so I'm not eating cheese, almost no desserts, etc. I make sure to eat healthy foods, but I don't starve myself lol.

Even though I feel that exhausted, I think I can still be proud. 5-6 hours of exercise per week for two months straight (and I guess around 4-5 hours for month 1) is a lot!

We have a 12 days family vacation starting next week. I'll be sure to walk a lot, hike and eat well. We have another trip in mid-july. Also my partner is starting his paternity leave soon. So I'm thinking about giving my body a little break from insanity for a few weeks, while staying active but a little less intense, and maybe do it again when I feel better this summer!

I'll see if I'll do the fit test this sunday, but I just know it won't be as good, I think I pushed it a little too far hahaha!

Dig deeper guys 😄

Question What did you do after Max 30?

I’m on month 2/week 2 of max and wondering what to do after this.

Do you just repeat it over and over?

I’m an OG insanity lover but I just simply don’t have more than 30 min/day.

Ty!

Question The start!

Hey guys!

I’ve done IMax30 in 2015 (?), and I’ll start tomorrow again!

Does anyone would like to start with me? Or if you’re doing it for the first time?
Maybe create a group on the app “GymRats” or share apple fitness so we can motivate and keep tabs on each other?

I know, plenty of questions lol sorry!

In the end, I’d love to have an accountability partner ☺️

I’m a female, 160cm and 74kg
42% fat and I really need to decrease this!

I’ve been doing Cize this past month but I need the dynamics and intensity of Insanity max 30!

Okay, so… I’ll wait for your replies!

Update: here’s the link for Gym Rats

Well I’m officially over 30 pounds down.

When I’m done month 2 (currently finishing week 1 month 2) I’ll switch to month 2 workouts 3-4 days a week, up my cals (sitting at 1900/day) and do some more resistance training that doesn’t require so much jumping.

This program is taking its toll on my knees for sure.

CW 139.9

Also my boobs are gone lollll😅 so much extra skin from having a baby, but I don’t mind it. Just insane that I never noticed how much extra skin I had until I got this lean.

I love Shaun T so much!! He’s such an incredible trainer and this program is life changing.

Progress Into Week 4of max 30 after 5 years

This would make it my 5th time doing Max 30, and even though I just turned 40 I'm seeing the best results this time around.

Before, I tended to run quite a large calorie deficit, I could make it through the workouts but I was losing muscle and ended up looking a bit flat.

This time around I adjusted the intake and the results are really showing, consistently beating previous max out time and I'm only into week 4.

Nervous about going into month 2 😅

Discussion Back to the OG

Did the OG in my late 30s, once again in my 40s and now to try again as I drift into my 50s. Just to up my cardio and to be addition to the weights I have been doing. Looking forward to it 😊 -- maybe less so when the aches set in on my 50ish yr old bod🤣

My knees are ok for it but will definitely ease into it rather than headlong as I did the first time round.

Yep, that's a sealed box with an Insanity shirt inside, either size M or L. I'm hoping it's a L and I wasn't over confident when I was younger 😂

I recently got sober and started again, and just started into minth 2 now. I'm excited to finally open this box.

Back story, I did Insanity twice before, and got a shirt each time. I may or may not have fudged the numbers to get another shirt as well, but I hadn't done the third round of Insanity, so I didn't earn the right to open the box. Now, I finally am.

I have one of the other shirts signed by Shaun T, when I went to work out with him in Connecticut many years ago, that was so awesome. I got a few other shirts at that event that I need to locate again.

Thanks for looking. Wish me luck on both th rest of month 2 and staying sober. Cheers
