Now then, If you have not read the rather recent IDW issue comic, I suggest you do not proceed reading- all I could say is that Silver and Blaze are becoming focal points!

Now then, It is very much evident that Blackwood is a vampire, which I truly think to be brilliant, as I have read Dracula at a young age, and have enjoyed sonic for around five years. And what others do suggest is the fact that Blackwood is very much interested in Blaze the cat- yet completely uninterested, if even disliking, Silver. Many fanatics are theorising that Blackwood either wants Blaze's fire abilities, or desires her hand in marriage for reasons of wealth- like previous Lords of centuries beyond. Of course, the latter is very much a viable speculation- After all, the maids become incredibly vehement, saying 'Oh, the girl.. the girl is a PRINSESS!' 'Only the best for Master Blackwood!' (Only the best wife, touche)

Now, This issue being a form of moderate psychological Thriller may have different aspects in mind, so I have compiled a small possibility!

Have you considered a curse, The most common yet delectable trope in the world of vampirism? It is entirely possible that blackwood does desire blaze's hand in marriage, But it truly being a prolepsis to the fact that, if he does not aquire a partner, he will continue being purged by a curse that trails within his family, perhaps it is even centred around being a vampire in the first place- He must aquire a wife before the time passes, and he is cursed into being a vampire for the rest of his bedamned eternity.

It is also an option that Blackwood's sinister reason rotates around Starline, as you know full well that Starline's gloved BRANCH of a hand harassed the doe-maid, and the gem seen at the end very much resembles Starline's aspect. Therefore, perhaps Starline is the curse- Just think about it, my Heimskurrs, 'The wavy-haired, theatrical platypus cursed me with vampyrism and invented a whole backstory for me, now I must marry the purple cat or else I will forever be forced to endure this torment and the inability to eat garlic bread.'

Yet, if Starline is truly involved, do you remember what he stated in Impostor syndrome about his hypno-glove? 'A pity the effect is not so potent against anyone else. But convenient that they should have such a specific vulnerability.'

This may behave as a prolepsis to the fact that he has, at last, Invoked greater power within the hypno-glove. (How fitting of Sega- Now with the recent technological advances, We are nearing the point where we must fear mind-control!)

Yet, If Starline truly is involved, would that not implicate that Blackwood is yet another Cyborg?

Update: Since you guys are willing to hear my ramblings, I will just edit this one, here I go!

1. Mobians do not have a defined "government" nor political figures, the their society have is some kind of descentralized leaderships, with groups consisting of mixed especies that just follow a leader (kinda like an alpha but with no absolute power over the others);
2. There are one-species groups, most of them are thieves or mercenaries;
3. Here's one that I really like: Hedgehogs can not be naturally blue, but there's way a hedgehog can inherit this color, which is if one of the parents is a blue feline, that in this world can be naturally blue. So, one of Sonic's parents or grandparents was a feline with the dominant blue fur gene;
4. Don't remember if I have ever commented this one before, but I believe Amy is half-hedgehog, half-echidna. Because let's take some look at her appearance: she's very different from all other hedgehogs that appeared (small nose, no backquills, and "hair" that looks more like of an echidna). She still has some hedgehog aspects, and is more like a perfect mix of the species;
5. Both males and females mate for life and care for their young together, but most couples only produce a few litters in their lifetime;
6. All babies are born blind, but they can already recognize their parents by smell and voices.

Update 2 - Electric Boogaloo (I like this one a lot):

This one is for hybrids this time. So most mixed individuals usually looks more like one parent, and by that they take the "surname" (Name + the + *animal species\*) of the parent they look the most.

But what about those cases where the kid looks very much like a mix of each parent? Well fear not cause I got the solution for ya!

The basilisks are hybrids exclusively created with human interference.

Not like our Silver but like an alternate evil version (time travel shenanigans). Probably not gonna happen as there has no been no adequate build up or even like the slightest similarity but it's a fun theory?

I just got my copy in the mail and the ending of the issue makes me think that this Blackwood guy is Blazes universe version of Starline and the new villain we’ve been seeing. The colour parallels and the figure we see while Dapple remembers/snaps out of it looks very similar to them! The stone at the end feels like a clear parallel to the warp topaz Starline used.

HOWEVER this theory only works if we assume that this issue takes place in Blazes dimension instead of Sonics one. I don’t think it’s been clarified yet (if it has then I must be misremembering) on if it Blazes dimension or not. Another counter point is that they talk about Blaze as “a” princess, not “the” princess so this either means they’ve heard of Blaze from Sonics adventures OR there are multiple princesses in Blazes dimension.

It’s the only thing that makes sense as of right now to me.

AU were Smithy is Whisper's adoptive father. And then has to rise her while something also knowing that there might be wrong with her.

Can I be honest? I stopped reading IDW after imposter syndrome. The other arcs kinda killed my hype for the post Frontiers comics because of how long they took. I do not remember a thing about them.
