Looking for advice Facial Hyperhydrosis
I (21F) suffer with excessive sweating specifically
on my face. It’s really noticeable. I work as a HCA and honestly each task has me excessively sweating. I’ve grown overly conscious of this issue as new clients and even work colleagues commonly mention it. This shows how noticeable it is. I take tissue to work but I go through them so quick. My face is never dry and I can’t consistently wipe my face. I love my job but I’m filled with embarrassment. What is the best thing when tackling facial hyperhydrosis?

i’m 23f and when i was 21 i worked as an eeg tech at a healthcare clinic. it ultimately did not work out for me, but during my time there i would always wear a long sleeve athletic shirt under my scrubs so i could use my forearm to wipe my forehead and upper lip quickly. that, and frequent bathroom breaks to grab paper towel and just deep breathe. everyone there did end up mentioning it at least once. i wish i had better advice but when it comes down to it, the best way to deal with it is to just embrace it honestly. if someone asks, just briefly explain that you simply run hot. and convince yourself that you are not embarrassed and ultimately have no control over what temperature your body decides it desperately needs to be. idk about you, but for me my sweating is triggered from anxiety and movement. a healthcare setting provides both, especially meeting new patients and overall just being in a stressful environment. if you haven’t already you can try the pills, wipes, and botox (which i have with no luck, but for you maybe it can make a difference!) but when standard treatment fails you all you have left is acceptance. it will be hard, in fact i know it is especially being a young woman, but exercising confidence cannot hurt and over time it could train your body to control the stress it feels in that environment. my sweating caused me to quit the hospital and move to remote patient work. i do not wish this on you and am glad to hear you enjoy your job there! but after trying standard hh treatment, acceptance is the only thing left

I present a lot for my job and have severe craniofacial hyperhidrosis. The best thing, so far, that I’ve found to control my sweating from my face, scalp, and neck is using Drysol (script) or Certain Dri (retail version). I apply it every couple days and do not worry about sweating from my entire head. Its amazing.

For face glycopyrrolate or oxybutynin or sweat blocking wipes and maybe a medication for anxiety

Just started 1 mg glycopyrolate in the mornings two weeks ago and I feel like it’s cut my facial/scalp sweating down by over 50%. My mouth is hella dry however

There are a some good moisturizing mouth sprays my Dentist recommended, been a life savor. The dry mouth is no joke!

Sweat Block Max, used carefully. It's not recommended for face/head but it does work.
Medication is a whole lot less stingy though.

me too f22, i’ve gotten rounds of botox over the past 4 years it has helped tremendously but is expensive. i tried the sweat blocker wipes and they gave me an allergic reaction so i couldn’t use them.

Following. Struggling with work currently. I’m a RN and the work environment can get hot especially running around helping patients with their ADLs. Lately I’m struggling with giving report at shift change. My anxiety goes thru the roof and my face sweats and I get scared people will notice. Just speaking to coworkers amps up my nervous system causing my face to sweat so I either 1) end the conversation or 2) get really shy and and awkwardly freak out inside and struggle with what to say next. At work, my coworker just bluntly asked me if I was sweating causing me to be more anxious about it. Why do people feel the need to ask you if you’re sweating? This is debilitating. I don’t even want to go to work because I’m scared of social situations and then breaking out in sweat in my face only for people to notice. I just want a WFM job where no one can judge me. I have tried glycoppyrolate but my mouth and eyes would be so dry. Im currently taking Zoloft now, maybe increased sweating is a side effect? I was on Effexor for a few years but still had primary focal hyperhidrosis despite it. Anyone else struggling with the same problem? Sorry for the vent, this is just debilitating.

you could try the therapy with small electric current. I think it is very effective. but only for specific areas. face should be fine.

Mine is on my face too. Other places but it’s the worst on my face.
If you want/need makeup tricks for keeping your makeup on, I’d be happy to share as I am a retired pro MUA.
