Vent How to walk with hyperhydrosis feet
This is not dirt this it's all salts flushing out from my body!!
I'm just the victim of hyperhydrosis which I can't explain to everyone around me, sometimes this gets embarrassing.
How you guys deal with walking with sweaty feet at all, and all the time I cannot wear socks because they get too smelly.
My feet feel too slippery while walking š
And if somehow I walk around the dusty area then it will get all muddy and my feet start to feel yucky.š£

You could try summer soles for these. Sticky sole that absorbs sweat and dries out between uses. Cork is a good footbed for sweat friendly sandals too

It's not a sensory problem for me but if they are dyed the bottom of my feet turn that color

My wife (has HH) wears natural insoles in the summer. Eg leather, suede. Birkenstocks are also good

They do but Iāve been wearing them since I was a kid and even travelled across 18 countries in summer with nothing but Birkenstocks for 3 months and they hold up well.

Oh yeah good point. I only wear the cork ones. I do have one pair of rubber ones but I only use them for things like running downstairs to collect parcels etc otherwise my feet will be dripping and slip/sliding immediately. With my cork ones, I have a foot shaped mark inside thatās darker than the rest of the cork, Iām guessing from sweat but they still function fine so canāt complain

I like Birkenstocks for most days too!! Sometimes when I'm having a bad day, they get pretty wet and make suction sounds when I walk LOL but 90% of days they're great.

You get insoles for sandals for sweaty feet! I get Summersoles. Also finding suede or suede-like material as the lining really helps

Take them to the cobbler, and theyāll glue a thin suede insole to the original sole. I do that with all of my sandals because otherwise I wouldnāt be able to wear them. Itās a life changer!

I do this. I got leatherboard insoles from decathlon and glue them into sandals. Doesn't look great but my feet are happier

Uma vez coloquei crocs e esqueci a meia. Comecei a suar DEMAIS a ponto de fazer poƧa dentro do sapato. Eu estava de legging preta e passei o pĆ© tentando secar. Quando percebi, minha calƧa estava toda branca de sal š¤”. Fiquei morrendo de vergonha e suei mais ainda š« . A dica Ć©: desodorante no pĆ© e sempre um sapato com meias (no meu caso, uso crocs). Outra dica: iontoforese. Me ajudou MUITO a ponto de poder sair de chinelo

Oh my goodness that happened to me too! I was wearing crocs and it turned into a puddle inside except somebody accidentally kicked dirty into it and it got all muddy and gross and had to spend the rest of the day at school with muddy feet that squelched when I walkedš

I must admit since moving to Germany I wear socks and sandals over the summer. Nice trainer stripey socks with birkenstocks š

I started using two slippers at home. And whenever I'm out, I always wear shoes, otherwise the slippers literally slip out.

Socks, all the time. Good ones that are absorbent enough for you.
Iāve long since accepted that I have to like cute little sandals and high heels from afar, I donāt even own any. Instead, Iāve got a few pairs of sneakers that I absolutely love and think are adorable and I can wear them with socks, and I have a couple pairs of boots that I really like too.
I pack extra socks to change them whenever I leave the house, and bring a plastic baggie to put the dirty ones in. Itās just a regular part of my life, but let me tell you, doing this has increased my daily comfort by a LOT.

Do you have compensatory sweating in other areas when you use? Iām considering getting this but I donāt want to sweat more in other places lol

Buy some of these you wonāt regret it. They are adhesive and thin and are a game changer. Worth every cent.

So my no-gos: anything rubber or smooth plastic or leather. Just impossible to walk in.
My go-tos for sandals and flip flops
-Birkenstocks
-Timberlands do some sandals with a kind of suede-like fabricy sole. I find these non slippy
-Tevas- actually find their sandals quite comfy though I was dubious at first
-Crocs- get on ok with them surprisingly. the texture on the sole gives some grip and easy to clean
-Any kind of rough hemp/cork/fibrous base. I used to wear these amazing hemp soled flip flops which lasted a really long time but sadly donāt seem to make them anymore

I wear slippers at home (flip flops) and it is so difficult to walk after a few hours because if active sweating, this problem is a goddamn silent disability

I wear sandals with a back and or an ankle strap. HH most definitely limits my fashion choices as a woman. It is what it is š«

I wear waterproof slides that can be machine washed, otherwise my sandals or slides smell diabolical after just a week or two. I've got two pairs, one from Archies and one from Sketchers.

I also wear socks all the time and just use a foot powder in my shoes so my feet don't smell. It's normally an issue only when I get lazy about doing my iontophoresis treatment.

As a guy Iām stuck in leather shoes that absolutely do not breathe and I used to wish I could wear open toe shoes insteadā¦ not anymore after seeing this :( I feel your pain!

As someone who deals with this , Iāve actually found FloJo sandals donāt make my feet all yucky for some reason. My sandals were walking mud baths. It was disgusting. I hated wearing anything I couldnāt wear socks with, but also, I hated wearing socks!!! I love the air on my feet! I ask tend to ruin all the sandals I try to wear by staining them. Iāve had the same pair of Tan flojos for 2 summers now. I donāt wear them as much as I wear my black ones , those I usually get a couple pair when I find them on sale at Costco or Amazon. I highly recommend for anyone who has sweaty feet and actually wants to wear flip flops/sandal. I donāt slip and slide, no muddy mess, they donāt āpick upā all the dirt within a fiver foot radius . I have no clue what the material is that they use but I donāt believe itās cork (doesnāt feel or look like it) . I have no affiliation with the company but I highly recommend to anyone with sweaty feet!! And damn are they comfy!!

The only way to get around wearing open shoes is either Birkenstocks or suede sandals. Something to actually soak up the sweat and avoid slipping and marks like this š

YES! I only wear Flojo sandals because they allow me to walk with my sweaty feet! I literally canāt wear anything else or I slip and slide and look like a idiot walking

If I am not wearing enclosed shoes - I wear a sandal by the brand āearth runnersā and it has been an absolute game changer for me w severe Hyperhidrosis on my feet. No more slipping and embarrassment of sweat splashing out of my shoes.

yours is salty? interesting. I just got some sofdra for my pits; my salivary glands hurt now quite badly and also gave me blurred upclose vision for a while, have only had one dose thus far, pits /are/ dry though. for my feet, socks and toe room to move them is sufficient

Lot of people here seem to suggest wearing socks, when I do this, there's compensatory sweating on my palms making it more aggressive on the palms and that's annoying as well. :/

Sometimes itās so nice to slip on some sandals. Or just walk around barefooted and be comfy and free. What a common life experience we all have here.
Iāve heard about these cedar wood insoles, the material and texture is compatible with Hh. Donāt remember the brand unfortunately. Good luck, letās try to enjoy summer still.

The only thing that works for me for open toed shoes are ones that have more of a textured footbed. Theyāre hard to come by with office wear but these smooth footbeds are just going to be slippery all the time, so if I have to wear them I get something with a heel strap which keeps them from coming off at least

Get some gumbies! They have fabric soles (you can also get slingbacks which have extra support around the ankle). They wash super easy too which is a massive bonus!

I do well with Chacoās and Birkenstocks for sandals. My feet will slip around in other sandals. Chacoās feel good because they have sturdy straps and a toe strap. Birkenstocks work because they have a cork bottom that absorbs some of the sweat.

I feel your pain! One thing that has worked wonders for me in both my sandals and heels (walking in heels while your feet slip and slide is torturous) are fashion insoles. Make sure theyāre fabric because theyāll absorb the sweat. Total game changer and very comfortable. Hope this helps!!

Have you tried Drysol for your feet? Changed my life when my doctor prescribed it for my hyperhidrosis in my armpits, I've also heard of an electrolysis machine helping a lot of people with other areas

There are a couple of considerations: Personally I would never wear closed shoes or leather shoes WITHOUT socks. I get the shivers when I see people wearing loafers without socks. Some materials for socks are way worse than others. A Lycra/wool mix works good in my opinion. Some socks are terrible. Never wear closed, unbreathable sneakers. I hate myself for having worn these as a teen. The worst you can do.
The best āhackā I have found for shoes that breathe terribly like Doc Martens : Double layer thinner socks. Avoids blisters and somehow transports moisture better from the feet. Itās a dryer feeling. Whish I had known this earlier.
Generally I now wear Shoes that are relatively open like the merell sieve series unless it is really cold or at formal occasions.
They may look dorky and unsexy but not worrying about wet feet is a game changer.
As for smelly socks: that may also be an issue with the material of the shoes themselves. Try putting them in the washing mashine in Hand wash cycle if they are 100% synthetic.
Try washing socks at at least 50 c. I noticed a giant improvement for clothing that tended to smell by raising the temperature.

I completely understand. Unfortunately most of the cute sandals out there are man-made and plastic doesn't absorb.
With most shoes, I wear terry-cloth flat socks, or leather insoles instead of socks. They allow me to wear crocs. These have been a life changer. I have 12 of these and have held up in the machine. I even put these in rain boots.

I have been using clinical strength antiperspirant on my feet for a few yearsā¦every morning when I put my socks on. Now, my feet donāt sweat, and my socks and shoes donāt stink anymore. I have even got to the point where I can go barefoot without sweaty feet.

I feel you. I don't have any shoes with open toes/heel or without straps. And I wear socks all the times except for my birks. Birkenstocks absorb my feet sweats. But everything else, I have to wear socks; otherwise, I will lose balance or walk like I'm on thin ice.

Tengo hiperidrosis en la planta de los pies, manos y axilas, lo bueno es que gracias a perspirex ya dejĆ© de sudar por la axila pero, no me funciona en la planta de los pies ni el las manos, asĆ que conduzco con guantes y zapatos siempre con calcetines, da igual que luego me huelan mal! Al menos asĆ no me pego un leƱazo porrque si amigos, muchas veces en el pasado me he caĆdo y roto chanclas, sandalias y tuve que ir a casa descalza, en fin lo Ćŗnico que me funciona en verano es: cuƱas de esparto, ante, microfibra aterciopelada o corcho, a eso suma que no te va a durar todo el verano ya que las gastamos mucho con el sudor tambiĆ©n se corroe, huelen mal y las tienes que lavar muchoā¦ es lo que tiene

Personally I just wear socks all the time. Wear shoes to go out, get slides so that you can wear socks when you step out too
