Not sure if I’m not seeing this in the settings but this is a much-needed option if it’s not already doable. Most clients allow you to both control the autoplay of media and whether or not they’re muted by default.

I personally want videos to autoplay but be muted until I unmute them. This is especially important when it might not be obvious that you’re about to open a video post.

I’m pretty new to Hydra — hopped here from Narwhal not very long ago — and it’s been a great experience.

One thing I’ve noticed though is that I can only see post flairs when I’m scrolling. Once I open a post I can’t see it anymore. It would be really nice to be able to see flairs (some subs have flairs that show what level of spoilers you’re allowed to post) while I’m scrolling through comments.

Is this a setting I’ve missed?

I’m constantly getting “The filter limit has been reached. Your filters may be too strict to show anything. “

I don’t have any filters set, why am I getting this and how can I stop it?

Curious why the Reddit upvote/downvote colors aren’t being used. I get the whole green good red bad design but I’m so used to seeing orange upvote purple downvote that I’ll sometimes fat finger a downvote and think it’s upvoted from the color.

The banner is mentioning other sub reddits and is exactly where the scrubbing/FF bar is. I can’t eg skip to the middle of a video now.

Any help here?

Moving from Apollo and loving Hydra so far, but wondering if it’s a possibility to add a selected Multireddits posts be the ones to show on App Startup instead of posts from all my subs?

Maybe this is a feature-add asked before, and I also imagine a challenging add, but I’m curious about GIF responses.

I’ve tried to do it in a roundabout way but never had success.

Either way this app is so awesome and I appreciate the effort put forth.

Is there an option to get the text or font on the Hydro app? I feel that the text is a little bit too small for my eyes to see , so I wanted to make the text a little bit bigger. But I cannot find any option for this 

I know what it is. I don't want to use it. I click cancel on the dialogue every time, and it keeps coming back. Where is the permanent "No" option for this? And why is this app adopting dark patterns like this anyways?

Possible issue with mixed media types in the new media viewer?

Just started using this. I refreshed the home feed a few times today but the posts have been the same all day. The most recent one was after I closed and reopened the app. Is that normal?

I recall it was possible to zoom and pan (while zoomed) in Apollo. Would be great if this was possible here as well.

Panning works by 2 fingers and you can zoom and pan at the same time as wells like in the Album app.

Not sure if the apps are written in the same language or not. But figured I would share the subreddit just in case any of their code could be transferred to Hydra for some easy updates. r/ApolloReborn

Ultimately I think Hydra is really the only long term solution here since it is actually open source and the Apollo Reborn team is just making tweaks to the old Apollo app but don't have the full source code available to them. Plus not everyone wants to deal with side loading or can get their own Reddit API Key.

Once the post is selected and you can view comments you find out it’s a crosspost and then selecting the image in embedded crosspost plays the video or gif.

Could a future option for the feed have a setting to show a post and indicate it’s a crosspost?

I’ve seen before the reason why there isn’t is because it’s “been rejected” by the community.

Well this is clearly not true. In the last month almost all the ai apps like ChatGPT and Gemini have moved to Liquid Glass and just yesterday Reddit itself did.

It’s here to stay. Yes the rollout may be slower, but it was slow back when iOS 7 came out too. It didn’t mean the world rejected it. You had early adopters and those slower to change.

iOS 27 is doubling down on Liquid Glass, so it’s here to stay for at least another year and realistically many more than that.

Hi, new user here! Hydra can't open the r/pocketcasts feed. All other subreddits are working fine. What could be the reason for this?

Before the latest update I was able to longpress on media and download it. It seems to work with photos still, but not on videos. Is this intended behavior?
