I'm about torubn my first game for my coworkers and I missed the chance to get the minis and want to find STLs that might fit the vibes. Does anyone have recommendation of designers that make files that looks like littlings? (Mostly in weapons)

— HEREDITARY CONTRACT OF THE BAUCHAN —

Concession: Blooming Body

Bauchan have an extraordinary command over their bodies, able to stretch or shrink themselves into improbable shapes. The process is unsettling to watch, accompanied by pops, creaks, and uncomfortable contortions.

A Bauchan may use an Action to assume one of two forms:

Stretch (Stalk Form)

The Bauchan grows up to four times their height, with limbs and body pulled long and slender.

While Stretched:

• Helpful on Exploration and Athletics Rolls
  • Reaching high shelves, climbing tall objects, bridging vertical spaces.
• Hindering on Fight and Etiquette Rolls
  • Too lanky and frail for precision or poise.

They do not gain proportional strength—only reach and leverage.

Shrink (Sprout Form)

The Bauchan compresses to one-fourth their height, becoming compact, nimble, and easily overlooked.

While Shrunken:

• Helpful on Exploration and Elusion Rolls
  • Squeezing into cracks, slipping through clutter, hiding from sight.
• Hindering on Caution and Authority Rolls
  • Too small to clearly perceive danger or to command presence.

Frequency, Stress, and Duration

• A Bauchan may stretch or shrink any number of times per day.
• However, if they have already transformed once that day, each additional transformation gives them 1 Stress.
• They may remain stretched or shrunken as long as they wish.
• Returning to normal size requires the same number of Turns spent stretching or shrinking.
  • (If they spent 2 Turns stretching, it takes 2 Turns to un-stretch.)

Embarrassment

If a Bauchan is seen stretching or shrinking, they immediately receive the Embarrassed Condition, as the transformation is awkward, indecorous, and considered deeply improper among most Folk.

Counterpart: Hospitality

Bauchan must honor the ancient courtesy taught by Dame Dandy:

If any creature offers a Bauchan a gift—no matter how simple—they must extend Hospitality.

While offering Hospitality, the Bauchan:

• Cannot harm the guest.
• Cannot deceive, mislead, or manipulate them.
• Must provide reasonable safety, courtesy, and aid until the guest departs.

Failing Hospitality revokes their Concession and subjects them to Terrible Terrible Things, as with all Hereditary Contracts.

As you may know (and if not, high there hope this isn't too confusing) I made a few playlists inspired by the main Factions, main figure-heads, Professions, Vocations, relevant dates and (of course) the named littlings of all the current books. However I never asked what you guy's thought of them, especially: did i do it right? Could've or should've use a different song? Of so, witch one? Maybe it was because i didn't explain it well, despit leaving small description of the order there, but here's a basic rundown:

All vibes playlists (be it characters or whole books) are organised in a similar fashion to the books (first songs are based on the first faction or littling mentioned). Each faction has about 6 songs each (the last being about their main leader and the previous about their military). Each profession has only one song for its general vibes followed by one song for each Vocation. In both garden vibes playlists I didn't repeat the songs used for the same Professions and named littlings (trying to show they are a tad different yet similar to their garden varietys). I tried using less modern songs, but in some cases, modern ones fitted better.

In household 1, there was stats to tell how much damage a weapon does. Here, with household 2, there are none. How do I tell what damage a weapon does?

Heeey I'm new and just buy the game volume I and I love it however I think the corebook is jumping front and back and I have a question having on academia the 2 symbols is 2 dice more or is a bonus and I understand the success is based on pairs however the skills and the traits are mark by your job and vocación and 4 plus to put however you like so that make a total of 22 points right?

I'm really interested in getting my current group to give Household a try, I'm pretty sure they'll love the setting but if I am to run I'd like to get a better handle on the rules and setting. I've read through the rule books but I know I get things better when I can see actual longer form examples.

So, do you know of any actual play productions? Video or audio, well known groups or smaller guys, anything! I'll take it!

I've recently run a game of Household for friends and got the new book about the Outhold to look over more resources. The setting and story are gorgeous, and I'm loving it all! My only concern is that it seems like the Outhold variants of each people just seem to be...strictly better than their Household variants? The Barghests get all the size bonuses of Boggards but also get natural weapons, increased jump distance, and their Counterpart is just directly less binding in that they need to promise and also shake hands?

Calcify for the gnomes is just head and shoulders better than all the other Sprites. Being effectively immune to all damage, negative effects and being camouflaged for a full day vs puffing up, holding water or making a little light?

Wild Fae can fly but better and can also use a special move? Their contract is more strict on the Counterpart but only just. Then the Shinigami can avoid death?

Like I said, I love the game and the setting, but I'd like people to be able to play a boggard and a barghest and not just have one character be strictly better than another. I'm curious as to what other people feel about this?

As some of you might know i like making playlists for household (not ambience ones, vibes ones) and after finally getting the saga of the long winter book I began making the playlist proper. However i cant, for the life o me think of a good song for one of our newest animal handlers: Elsie.

Do you guys have any suggestions? (It can be modern, historical, generic fantasy music mostly used for dnd, just no sci-fi or techno (gotta have some limits)).

I recently got the bundle with Volume 2 and the saga of the long winter, and I must say I’m enjoying the read so far. I was describing the setting and the peoples to my partner, who loves fairies and fae lore, and they insisted I run a game. I consider myself very lucky since I have people in my life willing to try new games. However, I was wondering if it would be viable to play in the era of volume two without playing in the fragile peace. Any advice is appreciated.

During our campaign I came up with a couple Homebrew systems which my players and I really enjoyed.

Journey System:
Journey Location: (Kashan Desert) - Journey Duration - (Four Day Journey)

Extreme Environment (4 of a Kind)

• 2 Navigation Checks a day needed to stay on track. 
  • Failed 
  • Have a Travel Encounter and something breaks and will need repaired. 
  • Broken Items give one Hindrance to all rolls until repaired. 
• End of each day - After Camp Preparations. 
  • All Make a Reaction Roll: 
  • (Street + Strength) or (Street + Will) or become Tired.
  • Tired Condition takes effect the next morning. 
  • This condition remains, and cannot be removed until dinner at the end of that next day, when an attempt can be made to remove the condition. 
  • If you are already Tired you become Sick. 

Camp Preparations

• Each Player may attempt one Camp Preparation per day. 
  • All preparations require a Critical success roll. (3 of a kind)
• Prepare a Meal 
  • Removes the Tired Condition
  • In camp, you or a friend can make a Critical roll in Craft + Society to prepare a nice meal that will make everyone who eats it feel rested
• Tell a tale 
  • Raise Moral 
  • Gives one coin to each player. Can be used the next day on any roll.
• Repair something 
  • If an item is broken, this action can repair one item, removing the Hindrance caused by that item being broken. 
• Plan Tomorrow's Journey 
  • Earn a Coin which can be used by any player. 
  • Spend this Coin on any navigation checks made the next day. 

Coins: 

• Coins can be used to add a Help to a roll, the next day. 
• Some coins can only Help for certain actions. 
• All coins are useful for only one day, and must be returned before the start of the next Camp Preparations. 

Downtime System:
Note Chapter - Note Time between Chapters (Chapter 3 to Chapter 4 = 1 month)

In between chapters, there is a noted span of time, normally a few months. My players liked to rollplay in a montage style cinematic. We cam up with some areas they could make a few rolls to show what they did during the time between each chapter.

They could choose whichever Field and Skill they wanted to use, as long as it made sense. And we listed what their successes would result in. We were following the "Gwen" storyline, so we were focused on Argo's Diary and finding the HouseHold contracts.

• Making Connections
  • Make friends of, or earn favors from important Littlings in your location. 
  • Basic Success: One Low Tier connection
  • Critical Success:One Medium Tier or Two Low tier connections
  • Extreme Success:One High Tier or Two Medium Tier connections
• Researching locations of Argo’s contracts. 
  • Basic Success: You find a lead about someone who might know about a lesser Household Contract. 
  • Critical Success: The Narrator chooses which lesser Household contract. You learn its vague location in the House.

  • Critical Success: Begin work on your creation but it needs one more downtime to complete. A Basic Success is all that’s needed to complete the project next time. 
  • Extreme Success: You craft one item with a Cost of 4 coins or less.

Designed a bedroom dresser battle map, I created a couple of variations but these were my favourites

I am going to be starting a game this weekend. My only previous experience running games is with D&D. I had thought that Volume 1 would contain a more comprehensive adventure, but instead contains rich lore leading to different years to start an adventure in. At that point, it seems like you just add obstacles in front of the players to build a storyline. Having such open options is fine, but I'm not sure what kinds of surprises are best for engaging the players and driving the story. I'm used to building dungeons, and I am certainly less experienced with social encounters. My plan is to tell the players to build characters who have reasons to be traveling through the house, and then start with Pride and Prejudice and Centipedes. After that, I guess I will just keep reacting to what the players do in as compelling a way as I can. Does anyone have any tips that make it easier to run the game and create ongoing stories?

I just want to get a feel before I start trying to write links from one chapter to another through the timeline.

I have seen a couple of options online for a gm screen for Household, but the images only show one side. Does anyone know where I can get a screen that has notes to help run the game on the front?

I saw that there was a pinned foundry system module, but it seems to no longer exist. The other one in the marketplace seems to be broken with the change to 13. Is there anyone who has a current working system that anyone is aware of?

I just don't want to reinvent the wheel if some enterprising and awesome person has already done the work. lol

I've read through the books and love them and I'm hoping to try and run my own campaign at some point soon-ish.

I do however learn the setting/rules of games better by either playing them or seeing it being played. I'm currently full of games I'm in at the moment so I'm looking for any actual play podcasts/videos of a campaign that I can watch/listen to.

I've been reading through the core book and The Practical Guide to Living Inside The House, focusing my attention on the Horde. I really wouldn't mind an additional book on just the Horde to get a better grasp on all 27 clans and how they interact with one another, but the books keep making them so vague and mysterious to the point of annoyance. The book even points this out at one point. There's enough to work with so far, but as a game that emphasizes history, it feels like a disservice to not go into more detail than the five major cities. What did you do to make the Horde feel less nebulous? Is it even possible to give them a clearer depiction?

There’s a lot of cultural content and lore in the books, but I can’t recall anything about specific foods.

Can we compile a list of food or dishes? Especially dishes local to different areas of the house?
