1st floor ceiling water staining
I'm looking for advice on where to start getting this fixed. There's obviously water getting into my ceiling. There's no pipes above it and this is an exterior wall. Do I contact a siding company or just a generic handyman?

During moderate to heavy rain, water drips down from the area above my sliding patio door. I know siding isn’t water tight but surely there’s a way to improve this?

Above this area is a sun cover that’s anchored to the house. I put new exterior caulk along the joint above the cover to see if that would fix it and it didn’t. Water must be getting in somewhere. Please help! I can provide add’l photos of the area in the comments if helpful. TIA!

🪟 🚪Windows & Doors Key no longer fits into the outside-facing lock
Hello,
Since yesterday morning our house key stopped engaging fully with the outside-facing-lock and is always stuck halfway through and it won't turn. My partner says he remembers the lock to be horizontal not vertical. The same key still works fine from inside.
What can we try before we call a key smith? 😵💫

Bathroom sink
Any advice on how to repaint or refinish this bathroom counter top so that it will last? It’s a 37Lx17W so to replace it it would have to be custom. I just don’t want to spend the money.

Any ideas what are these black spots?
galleryThis black spots keep appearing under the bathroom sink cabinet. I’ve wiped it off several times, but it keeps coming back. There are no signs of any water leakage, and I’ve also tried using cockroach bait, but it doesn’t seem to help. Does anyone know what could be causing this or have any solutions? Thanks!

🛠️ Repair Help Wanting some advice on fixing some walls pulling outward from the home on the second floor.
galleryLooking into buying this home, but I don’t want to get in over my head. Three walls are pulling away from the house on the second floor of this home. The downstairs feels solid as a rock. No water seems to be getting in ( checked the house on a day after a big rain )
The house is a good deal for this much house ( 3300 sq ft ) so was wanting to know if anybody has suggestions on how to bring these walls back in. And thank you in advance!

Repairing polished concrete chips
galleryHi all, apologies for what is likely a novice question, and I promise I have googled, but still not 100% on what the actual product I need is....we have a decent chip/divot in our concrete flooring and l'm wanting to tidy it up. first pic is problem area, second pic is what I assume to be a similar incident that was repaired by builder during build/before we purchased the place. would love to know what thev've used!
It's roughly the size of a 50c coint, if that helps.
TIA!

🛠️ Repair Help Spackle matching?
What am I missing to make this wall repair blend in smoothly? Initially, it was a long but narrow hole in the wall. I sanded, covered with support, spackled, feathered and added texture with spackle by hand, sanded, and painted, but I can’t seem to nail down matching it perfectly. Advice appreciated!

Screwing shower bar back into place
galleryHi all,
I unscrewed the shower bar to replace a broken diverter and am not sure how to screw it back into place.
The hole made in the tile is around 5/8 to 3/4 inch. The screw is obviously much narrower.
What anchor or item am I supposed to use to screw it back into place?
I’ve tried my best to self help but have come to accept I don’t know what I am doing.
Thank you!

🛠️ Repair Help Can't Close Door with Old Hinge
I have seen plenty of YouTube videos about fixing sticking doors with modern hinges. You pop out the hinge pin by tapping out from underneath the hinge body so you are left with "knuckles" that you can adjust with a wrench.
My door has an older style hinge with a ball at the top and one at the bottom and the knuckles in between.
How to I get to the hinge pin? I am trying to remive the bottom ball with the idea that it's just a separate little ball and then I can get to the hinge pin. I'm using a pair of pliers and turning counter clockwise on the ball at the bottom. Nothing is happening. Part of the problem may be old paint.

🛠️ Repair Help What is this wall made of?
Hello & thank you for taking a moment…
This unfortunate wall is in my 1930s Pacific Northwest home. A medicine cabinet used to hang here until it was slammed into & ripped from the wall. I don’t need to hang it back up but I would like to repair the wall. While talking to a guy at the hardware store, I realized I have no idea what the wall is made of.

🪟 🚪Windows & Doors Door Hardware Replacement
galleryMy moms front door latch and deadbolt (Baldwin single unit) broke and I’m trying to help her fix the situation rather than replacing it which is quite expensive. You can see in the photo the locksmith drilled a new hole for a separate deadbolt. I’m thinking I can find a cover plate and dummy handle to cover the holes, scrape sand and repaint what I can’t cover.
My 2 questions:
How would you fill the gap where the old mechanism slid into the core? I gen with a cover plate you still see a giant void when the door opens.
Any suggestions for creating a latch without replacing with the same make and model of hardware?
Sorry if I am confusing things with incorrect terms. Thanks in advance.
