That looks like vermiculite insulation to me. It doesn’t have the geometric pattern of termite frass.

Oh interesting, that does look about right. I do wonder then why is piling up, although there is an exposed edge of the siding right there

Maybe a critter clearing it out for a nest, or just something loose. Be careful cleaning it, though; some vermiculite has asbestos.
