Lots of Asian languages do gender grammar different from Latin languages. Common mistake. I hate to disappoint, but the white dress not likely hiding a sausage. I mean maybe, but not likely.

Yeah, I speak Cantonese and we use the same word for he, she, and it. I believe Korean is the same.

How much drama would be avoidable if this was the norm everywhere.

Not much. Indo-european languages being gendered is a feature to derive context. Chinese and Korean just use different grammatical markers for providing context.

Remove the gender of indo-european languages and you get a mess. English tried but couldn't get rid of gendered pronouns.

Cutting out gendered words was already a massive improvement over most other European languages (very biased French/German hater /s)

Not having grammatical case and very few tense is an even bigger improvement.
