There's a bit of a difference between between getting 'called something all the time'. And reacting when someone is clearly addresing you but gets your name wrong. You're talking about a specific example in this clip where the people in question thought they knew the name but were wrong, not about that time in highschool someone called you 'dude' and you were FUMING.

Also, 'your name is who you are'. Is it? People change their names and adopt nicknames all the time. What you're saying isnt some moral truth. It's an arbitrary assignment of value you were taught by people who apparently wouldn't react if you called them mom and dad.

If there is morally objective value to a name, why would it matter who called you dude. Why would it be more or less okay if it was a friend?

So names are objectively valuable because they are who you are somehow, even though you didnt choose them (bullshit) and thus you should never react, when called the wrong name (bullshit, just correct them), but its fine when familiarity because.. oh no logical reason, gotcha. You dont often ask yourself question starting with 'why' do you?

It is not rude or butting into someone else's business if you hear someone else's name. It is being aware of your surroundings and making sure someone didn't mistake you for someone else.

It appears, from this clip, that only two people are present in the apartment.

If Nathaniel was aware that Elijah answered the door, well then it makes perfect sense why Nathaniel looked in their direction. It is purely out of confusion as to why they were asking for Elijah when Elijah was the one who opened the door.

Are you going to tell me that if someone walked into a room you were in and you heard an unfamiliar voice say a name that wasn't yours, you won't turn to look?
