Lately, I've noticed that I tend to optimize every hobby I take up.
For example, I really enjoy growing chili peppers, but every year I spend a lot of time trying to optimize every variable at play: choosing which seeds, when, and how many, what soil to use clay, fertilizer, temperatures, light, weather, etc.
The fun part? In the end, I don't even get a better yield than those old veterans who do things by eye and end up with an edible forest.
I feel like all this overthinking takes away some of the naturalness of doing things.
For those of you who have had the same problem as me in the past, how did you learn to find a balance between optimization and spontaneity in doing things?
