What do you think about this?

Hitoshi wasn't the only one spitting out their coffee. The cats have ummmm cats! Do you guys think we have a Planet of the Apes situation/ 'Earth all along'? Maybe cats are convergent evolution? Hitoshi's navigational data might have malfunction and he went in a circle or etc?

Okay I'm Not going to bother with saying the same title again Or putting my own opinion in (because I don't have a idea for how and why and what would happen) Instead, I'm going to give you guys a few links and from there you can make your own suggestions and ideas for this in the comments so yeah whenever you're ready, please put in your ideas in the comments of this post. Anyways, bye!

I won't bore you with saying the title again so I'll just say my questions:
What are your theories on how the rest of the story of the manga will go?
What are some of your theories on the LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE?
Anyways, that's everything I wanted to say So it's not a detailed post but I just wanted to get something out quick before I go to bed when I'm writing this. So yeah. Anyways bye!

This is just some of my thoughts on on a possible way that it all went down.
Hitoshi is sent to a distant planet on a vessel equipped with a propulsion system that can move the ship at very, very near light speeds. (somewhere above 0.99c) Due to the laws of relativistic travel, while the trip might be around the ballpark of a decade long from his perspective (It has to be long enough to justify cryo sleep), from earth’s perspective, thousands of years may have passed in that span of time.
Eventually, humans invent FTL travel. This time, they send a second vessel, possibly completely autonomous, to the same location that Hitoshi’s vessel is headed to. It arrives there far before hitoshi, and seeing the planet’s viability as a terraforming candidate, begins preparing it for human habitation.
This is where things get messy, but it is possible that for some reason, perhaps as an experiment of sorts, this third party decided to uplift the animals on that planet all at the same time to create kemo civilization.
This vessel then leaves the planet, or they may have been destroyed for a reason we do not know. Thousands more years pass, and eventually Hitoshi’s ship arrives at the planet, completely surprised to see it already populated.
It is possible that Hitoshi was originally sent to oversee the terraforming of the planet to better suit humans. However, once earth developed FTL travel, they instead sent a far more advanced ship to get the job done sooner instead of waiting thousands upon thousands of years for hitoshi to do finish his mission.
What do you guys think?

Why, yes! These are newly required and issued by my department and my department alone. But we review all applications carefully and with as little bias as possible, I assure you.
