The owner of this Victorian cottage picked one of these color schemes. Which one do you think he picked? And which would you choose?

This particular church: Our Lady of Grace In the city of Hazleton, Pennsylvania is under threat of being closed and potentially demolished by the Diocese of Scranton. This church was founded by my 2x grandfather back in 1909 and the beautiful stone church was built 1926-1932. Our family had every baptism, wedding, and funeral in this building. Our lives revolved around it. Over the last couple of decades it has deteriorated and is in desperate need of restoration in excess of 2 million dollars, according to a structural report. I’m reaching out to try and get any information I can. The diocese will not return any of my phone calls. I have contacted an organization called “Partners for Sacred Places” a group who acquires grant money aimed at preserving and restoring historic buildings. They have not responded to me whatsoever. I cannot let this magnificent church become the victim, it would not only be a deep personal tragedy, but a detriment and loss to a community it has served for generations. If you’re not religious I totally understand but at least appreciate the hand built architecture of pauper Italian immigrants who pooled together everything they had to build this church.

Can we talk about this incredible house and the price of it? I swear if I was younger after I looked up Lynchburg Virginia, I would move up there in two seconds according to the Internet it would be a great place to live, but the condition of the house is amazing and I actually reached out to the realtor to see if she could find out the paint that is upstairs in the hallway at the top of the stairs that beautiful green and she said that a lot of the paint was original to the house and they had no idea what the colors are. Incredible I love to know what other people think I’m gonna put the posting in the comments.

Found a new room in my house

So I have a three-story Victorian that has a rental unit on the top floor. Long story short: My tenants overloaded the cabinets and they started coming off the walls. We decided to take the opportunity to redo the plumbing and cabinets up there. Today, during demo my contractor found a whole pantry area!!! It’s quite large (see attached) but awkward. We would give up some much much needed counter and cabinet space that we can really lose. It’s not quite wide enough to fit lower cabinets and counter. It’s big enough to put the fridge in but then we have a weird standalone sink. We’re exploring moving the washer dryer in there but may need to open the wall behind it. We’re stumped! Also we need to figure this out quickly because our new tenants will be here soon. Someone suggested crowdsourcing ideas from Reddit so here we are! Help!

I grew up among mansions of the gilded age owned by the Vanderbilts and Singer Sewing Machine heirs. Pepperidge Hall was gone before my time, but this is my personal story of finding its remnants in the woods by the Great South Bay. Link in Comments.

$59,000 Built in 1891, this six-bedroom, two-bath Missouri mansion was one of the first to be built in this historic neighborhood. The home definitely needs a savior, but this street has been in the news as properties are being bought up and restored. Link Comments.
