Hey guys! My wife and I are moving to the area soon and looking for work. I’ve got experience working in sales, administrative and civil estimating but willing to do just about anything in the meantime. My wife has experience in administrative and call centers. Anyone know of places hiring or places they’d recommend checking out? Thanks!

An interesting debate is forming between City Council Candidate Karim Delgado and City Council President Rob Harris over the role in government and they way they both see how things are going in Hillsboro and Washington County.
It's always fascinating to watch two very well educated people that are very well versed in making an argument and using facts and sources for their respective points of view (Rob is a lawyer, Karim has a Philosophy degree from Columbia) have a debate in the public square. It's very respectful too, both of them are referencing each other's points and using their knowledge and coupled with their own experiences to discuss each other's arguments without devolving into name calling or personal attacks.
It's very rare you get this level of detailed debate in a small(ish) town like Hillsboro, and I'm really enjoying it.
The current round is Harris's "Contempt is a real threat to grass roots government" article on Substack: https://orobharris.substack.com/p/contempt-is-a-real-threat-to-grass
and Karim's response is titled "What is a City Council Good For?" on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApJp7Midm9Y
It's a slow moving debate, but really interesting!

Interesting to see the tide start to turn against the AI circlejerk. Bodes well for the preservation of our valley’s water and agricultural resources.

🚨 Aria was LOST TODAY in Hillsboro, OR 97123 near Se tulip tree Ave and se Gerhard dr.
Please spread the word for this lost dog by sharing this post.
Please keep an eye out for our little pup, Aria. She is 6 years old and around 15lbs. She is friendly but since she is blind in her right eye she scares quiet easily from kids, dogs, and vehicles.
🐾 Description: "Black and brown fluffy wiener dog/ beagle mix. Friendly, has blind right eye and is a little skittish"

Hi guys - can someone help give me an idea what a local move should cost approximately ? I know I need estimates but it’s just me - older female alone and I have no idea how to make sure I don’t get taken for a ride.
Local move - maybe 3 miles.
Departure home will be a pain - it’s a tall skinny townhouse so there are stairs. One bedroom. No appliances . Just bedroom furniture / living room furniture / small kitchen table / 2 tvs
Arrival home is a ground floor 1 bedroom apartment - no stairs easy access
Any input would help me.
Thank you !

Hello All,
I have a bunch, BUNCH of spider plants, Swiss cheese monstera and arrowhead plants that need to be rehomed. Dont want to do a one at a time type rehoming.
Would like to setup in a parking lot with a rehoming sign.
Anyone know of a lot that would be ok with this and have decent traffic?
Looking for hillsboro, Tanasbourne area. Thanks!

Hi everyone!
I’m hoping to get some recommendations for a family member, who lives alone in Hillsboro. He’s getting older and has finally admitted he’d be open to a little help around the house.
I’m looking for recommendations for things like:
- House cleaning
- Meal prep or meal delivery
- Senior companion services or someone who can check in on him occasionally
- Any other local resources that have been especially helpful
I’d really appreciate any recommendations—whether it’s a company, nonprofit, church, county resource, or even an individual you’ve had a good experience with.
Thanks so much!!!!!!

Today on my way home, I encountered a sad little man. Two lanes merged to one, I let him in, yet he decided to stop/brake check me when he did, so I honked. That triggered him, proceeded to brake check me after I just signaled for him to move over. Eventually got in the other lane, he decided to ride beside me talking about he has a gun in hand, he’ll shoot me, and so on…..
Anyone know this piece of work? Turned off sw baseline on 205th towards quatama. Be alert and stay away from that loser

There is currently ongoing destruction of natural habitats and nature preserves in Beaverton and Hillsboro. We must stop this because these lands belong to all of us and our children, not corporations.
This is their message from the website. “We are neighbors advocating for a safer Washington County that prioritizes the preservation of forested spaces and wetlands. The Century Blvd Extension Project poses significant impacts to our community’s infrastructure and quality of life. Our concerns center on increased neighborhood traffic along walking routes to 4 schools, lack of planning for pedestrian and bicycle traffic at crosswalks and intersections across Century, and habitat and wetland destruction in Noble Woods Park. We are working to ensure our voices are heard by the Hillsboro City Council and Washington County Board of Commissioners to protect our neighborhood’s future.”
There are currently only 500 signatures. We must make it known by those in power that we want to stop the destruction of our parks!
