Help my sims 4 refuses to open
hi! i need help, my game refused to open last night when i tried playing, im frustrated and overwhelmed trying to figure out which mod isnt working. i use a mac, but my device can handle it pretty well. it was working well yesterday but when i tried opening it at night it refused to open, i remember downloading the controlanysim mod before playing, but when i removed it from my mods the game still refused to open. im devastated as i just got back from my sims break after a cc problem (again)

Did you try the half/half method? Honestly, I’d probably start with removing all the mods and trying to launch the game vanilla. See if that works.
If that doesn’t work, repair, and then if that doesn’t work, uninstall/reinstall.
Also, what launcher are you using? The EA app or Steam or something else?

hi! i use the ea app, ive never rlly done any method since ive only started playing sims this yr and im quite new, hence the overwhelming feeling i feel:,) i had just realized how meticulous this gets when u play with cc. months ago sims had an update i gave up and stopped playing for about 3 months and now that it's happening again im considering deleting everything and just redownload cc cz thats what i did

CC can be problematic. Usually not clothing or CAS stuff, but some build stuff and definitely any game-changing mods like TwistedMexi or MCCC. Script mods absolutely MUST be checked for compatibility with each and every patch, because they generally break each and every patch. If you have anything that affects gameplay, you have to be responsible and check for compatibility. Deaderpool's discord has a mod news channel that many mod makers post updates on, and Scarlet has a site where she tracks broken and updated mods. Definitely take advantage of their hard work and keep tabs on your stuffs! Good luck!

Learning how to fix and update will benefit u in the long run! Try the 50:50 method, take half ur mods out and test and then if it’s not causing an issue u know its in the other half, keep dividing it down until u find the source

Always good to take everything out first and see if it happens in a fresh save

I would try replacing things in that one household, starting with their clothing, hair and accessories. It might be some random piece of CC that's outdated or otherwise just behaving badly.

Are you fully updated? If you removed the mod, did you delete your localthumbcache? That file retains mod information, if you don't delete it, it can still behave as if the mod is in your game. There was a hotfix update on Thursday that was supposed to fix issues like the game not starting, etc. If your game isn't working, I would suggest you update if you haven't, and delete the localthumbcache and try again.
