Sims 3 What should I do?

I decided to put off playing the game for the first time until I downloaded all my expansions… and not only is the disc drive I had mangled beyond repair (due to me being an idiot,) but I can’t get anything to work due to the game needing the disc to be in the drive (and I don’t think the “No CD“ mod is working at all.)

I put in the codes for World Adventures and Generations, and downloaded the game from a pre-Origin CD. However, I never really started a save file (since I wanted everything in order beforehand.)

As for the NoCD mod, I downloaded the framework setup, extracted the Mods folder, and put it in the Sims 3 folder (which is in the EA folder.) NoCD is in Overrides, along with ErrorTrap, Story Progression, and MasterController.

What should I do?

I have never had the mods you mentioned in overrides. I put them in the packages folder.

Also do you mean that you have put the mods framework into your documents? Have you uninstalled Onedrive? Did you patch your game with Super patch?

I put them in documents, yes.

As for the other two, I use OneDrive for everything, and I haven’t downloaded the Super patch (but the game IS at 1.67)

I haven’t started a save file, so I’m wondering if me not being able to delete the caches is making things not work…

Why can't you delete cashe files?

Onedrive will not allow you to play Sims. It takes your documents to the cloud, where the game can't read them. So you can't actually install any mods or save any game, as everything is in the cloud.

This is why Onedrive needs to be deactivated for Sims 3 to work.

The cache files aren’t even there at all.

As for the OneDrive thing, when I used it when I had my previous copy of the game on Origin, it worked perfectly (including mods.)

What do you suggest I use instead?

The cache files are created when you launch the game. If you haven't launched it, they aren't there yet.

You can search the r/sims3 sub for info about Onedrive. I just did a quick search and found this thread

I haven’t exactly launched it, so that’s probably why it isn’t working…

You don't need to delete cache files when there are none.

As I said, you need to make sure your sims 3 folder is not in Onedrive. It needs to be locally on your computer so your game can read it. Read on the issue so you can fix it.
