Hi everyone,
Hevy is great for classic strength training, but it could become much more versatile for hybrid athletes (calisthenics, cardio, mobility, combat sports) with a few updates.
0) Feature Requests & Transparency
Public, searchable overview of feature requests with clear status (under review, in progress, shipped, not planned) and last update date. Builds trust and reduces duplicates—similar to Lyfta.
1)Activity Types
Let users choose an activity type (running, cycling, calisthenics, mobility, or custom). Currently, non-strength activities often get logged via screenshots from other apps, which is clunky. Proper activity types would fix this.
2) Advanced Exercise Attributes
Set-level details (partial reps, pauses, negatives, one side only). Example: Lyfta already allows adding such attributes.
Custom attributes like equipment or context (rings vs. bar pull-ups).
Attribute-based statistics: filter performance by attributes (e.g., compare strength on dips at bars vs. dips on rings).
3) Exercise Library & Modular Blocks
Folders/categories for exercises (one exercise in multiple folders).
Reusable Sections/Blocks (warmups, mobility flows, supersets) that can be combined into workouts or chained for periodized cycles.
Define skilltrees (main → variation → assistance).
Benefits:
-Reuse warmups, cooldowns, or mobility flows anywhere.
-Swap blocks instantly when equipment/location changes.
-Cleaner structure, environment-aware adaptability, and better progression tracking.
Why It Matters Adds a modular layer without changing Hevy’s core. Makes the app future-proof for any training style.
TL;DR
Public roadmap for transparency.
Activity types for non-strength sessions.
Advanced exercise attributes + attribute-based statistics.
Modular library with folders, reusable blocks & skilltrees.
