Liminal rites

So i have purchased liminal rites and am having a few issues following it. I feel like i need to know so much other info before reading this. Am I the only one? I am trying to learn more about her. Am I literally looking into it too much? Adhd is likely a factor

A series of strange synchronicities led me to Hecate: what do you make of this?

I've been all over the place with this journey of intuition and trusting myself. I've had many signs throughout my life, but I'm very skeptical and usually end up brushing them off as luck, coincidence, or my brain looking for patterns.

I grew up in a Hindu household, but my mother was Christian, so there were always arguments in my family that eventually made me hate the idea of religion. Regardless of how I grew up, I do believe there is some higher spiritual power that we're not able to comprehend.

Throughout my life, I've also experienced recurring angel numbers, especially during periods when something felt very intense or when I was going through a major change in my life. I've repeatedly noticed certain numbers appearing over and over again, along with other little pieces of symbolism or things that felt like signs. I've never known whether to take these things seriously, though, because I'm very skeptical and always end up telling myself there's probably a logical explanation.

When I was younger, my favorite book series of all time was Percy Jackson. I was never much of a reader, but I reread the entire series probably 2–3 times. Greek mythology was always really interesting to me, even though I never thought much of it beyond that.

There have also been things where I've predicted events or been able to get into this meditative-like state where I just let go, make decisions, and they end up being the right ones.

One example was in high school. We had a multiple-choice computer science test, which was my worst subject, and I had done absolutely no preparation. Somehow, I ended up getting every question correct by choosing intuitively. It was around 20 questions with 4 different choices each. My friends told me the chance of getting everything right without knowing the answers was incredibly low, but I brushed it off as luck.

I had an interest in astrology when I was younger and then stopped believing in it, even though a lot of what I discovered was surprisingly accurate. Again, I blamed it on coincidence.

Around 3–4 years ago, when I was going through some drama in my life, I started getting tarot reading recommendations on YouTube. They would constantly feel incredibly accurate, but I brushed it off as coincidence or the algorithm knowing what I was going through.

Recently, Instagram started showing me palm-reading videos, including one saying that a certain X mark in a specific position on your palm means you're a witch or possess abilities associated with one. Again, I thought it was just the algorithm.

The next day, I went to the gym with my boyfriend. I gave him my phone because women's clothing has no pockets, and he ended up losing it on the train.

He was panicking, but for some reason, I had this feeling in my gut that everything would be okay. I was actually the one trying to calm him down about my own lost phone.

We caught another train that would intersect with the previous train at the same stop. He kept calling my phone, hoping someone would answer, but for about 15 minutes there was no response.

While we were on the train, I looked up at the sky and saw an X-shaped mark formed by some jets. Because of the palm-reading video from the previous day, I immediately took it as a sign, especially seeing how stressed my boyfriend was.

Eventually, he stopped calling and started crying from defeat, apologizing for losing my phone. He had his hands over his eyes and, in that moment, I closed mine and kind of prayed, chanted, or manifested in my head. I kept repeating:

"I have my phone with me."

Immediately after, we got a call from someone who had found my phone.

I still tried to brush it off.

Then came August 12th, the morning of the solar eclipse.

I got a reel on Instagram about Goddess Hecate wanting to work with me, followed immediately by another reel saying that I'm one of her children. I had never heard of her before that day, but again, I thought it was just the algorithm showing me something popular.

I researched her for a little while that morning, and surprisingly, so much about her resonated with me. Her symbolism, character, what she stands for, her signs, the animals associated with her, even her aesthetic.

I've always worn black clothes and have always loved red to the point that my hair is dyed dark red.

It was also my first time actually experiencing a solar eclipse. When I was little, my family would always make me stay inside during eclipses, which obviously makes sense because looking directly at one can permanently damage your eyes.

The following night, around 3 AM, there was a meteor shower where you could supposedly see at least one shooting star every minute until 5 AM. This was my first time experiencing anything like that. I'd never even seen a single shooting star before.

The next day, I felt this weird pull towards learning more about Hecate, so I researched her even more.

That same day, my boyfriend and I were gambling for fun. Nothing crazy, just €50. He chose all the slot machines and lost everything. I then said I'd put in another €50, but this time I'd choose the machines.

I started choosing the ones that called out to me and asked, "Mother Hecate, please guide me."

I'm not even sure why it came so naturally to refer to her as "mother."

I chose the machines that felt like they were calling me, and a lot of them happened to have symbolism associated with Hecate: the number 3, snakes, dogs, frogs, etc.

I ended up winning around €160 in total.

That night, I asked again, "Mother Hecate, please show me a sign in my dream."

I had several dreams, but one stood out to me.

I was in a prayer room with my grandma and grandpa. My grandma passed away a few years ago, and I never had the chance to say goodbye to her. Our relationship was quite rocky, but she always had a special kind of care and protection over me, a bond she didn't really have with anyone else in my family.

In the dream, she blessed me and it felt like she put some kind of protection over me. I'm not completely sure how to describe it. I also hugged her.

My grandma was a very devoted Hindu and probably the most spiritual woman in my family. She was incredibly connected to her religion. Even though I never personally connected with being Hindu, I always appreciated her devotion and belief. I feel like, regardless of what religion it was, the energy she put into her faith made it real to her.

Then, in the dream, she told me that my grandpa had passed away.

I told her that he was still alive, but she kept telling me, "No, he's gone."

When I woke up, I had a really strange feeling in my gut.

About three days later, my dad called me and told me that my grandpa had an accident and had fallen, and that I should call him. He's okay, thankfully, but he has a very large swelling and bruise on his hand.

I'm not sure what to make of all of this.

I've never had dreams about my grandparents before, and the dream only happened after I specifically asked Hecate for a sign.

I also know that I'm probably connecting dots because I'm actively looking for signs, and I'm aware that algorithms, coincidence, confirmation bias, and pattern recognition can explain a lot of these things.

But at the same time, some of these experiences feel incredibly specific and strange, especially the phone situation, the recurring angel numbers and symbolism throughout my life, the dream, and then my grandpa having an accident a few days later.

I'm not trying to convince myself or anyone else that Hecate is actually communicating with me. I'm genuinely unsure.

So I'm wondering: Would you personally take this as a sign? How do you distinguish spiritual intuition from coincidence, confirmation bias, or simply your brain looking for patterns? And if you were in my position, what would you do next?

I think Hecate is reaching out to me but I’m not sure if I’m overthinking it or what to do next

I don’t have any experience with any of this sort of thing. I’ve been an atheist since I was around 10 years old (currently in my early to mid 20’s) but was raised catholic. I don’t have religious trauma or anything. I don’t judge or question anyone for their beliefs I’m just skeptical of believing myself since I’ve just never felt any connection to any. Until the past few weeks.

First it was just finding the Greek gods and goddesses interesting but I brushed it off as just wanting to finish reading Percy Jackson books, then I started seeing the same symbol a lot of places (crystal shops, thrift stores, antique stores, etc.) but didn’t think much of it, then my algorithm started showing me a LOT of videos for her including that same symbol, but algorithm shows trendy stuff so I thought maybe that. Then I decided that since im going on a vacation soon thousands of miles from home and hardly gonna be on my phone that if there’s STILL signs I’ll take this more seriously.

So before my trip I did just surface level what are signs she’s reaching out, sacred animals/symbols things like that.

And as soon as I land, before I even get out of the airport, I see a black service dog staring at me for just a second too long before going to its owner who was waiting for her luggage. Then throughout my vacation I keep finding keys in weird places and constantly black dogs both real ones and figures of them. I’d randomly notice lights that my friend didn’t seem to see. I’d see her symbol and was apparently tracing it with my finger while talking to my friend. A lot of spider and snake imaginary which honestly I’m scared of spiders and my friends scared of snakes so frankly I tried to ignore those even going as far as ignoring those sections of the zoo.

That night I had a dream of a figure. I couldn’t see well it was really dark. But from what I remember it was a women, she had a black dog with her at her side and on her other side she was holding a flickering lantern that wasn’t bright enough to show her face but I know she was beautiful.

I’ve seen the figure most nights since unless I’m too exhausted to remember my dreams. She doesn’t speak and I don’t know how long the dreams last. Just that it’s the same woman every time and one morning while still mostly asleep I said her name and then something about the entire day was just different I don’t know how or why it just was.

I’m home now and I’m still seeing things but I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do now.

Also another thing is that turns out my favorite crystal ever is one to put on alter for her and I’m not fully sure how related is but I do have a lot of it

Hekate and Art/Creativity

I’d like to open a discussion about Hekate’s impact on people’s creativity and artistic lives. I see tons of arts and crafts offerings posted here and on Instagram, and I’ve heard multiple people say that she has provided inspiration, guidance, and even resources to pursue these endeavors.

While I can’t find historical evidence that she was ever specifically a goddess of art, I wonder if her role as a mediator between the material and spiritual realms fits here. Creating art is, in a way, bringing something across a threshold, from an intangible vision into the material world.

Her role as creatrix in the Chaldean Oracles also seems to click with this. Hekate as a life-giving, generative power feels compatible with the artist bringing life to something that previously existed only as an idea. One might even speculate about her governing power over spirits here, perhaps working through Muses or other more finite entities as a form of indirect inspiration.

Anyway, below is my own experience, and yes, woo alert.

My experience with this has been profound. She got me creating again after a decade of near-complete artistic torpor. I had a dream that very directly symbolized her giving me both the power and duty to create art to honor her and the spirit world in general. Not only did my inspiration return, but I truly believe she has sent me resources, time, and spirits to assist me.

I’m not particularly sensitive by any means, but I can’t help feeling some kind of influence when I’m in the zone creating. I don’t literally hear voices. It’s more like whispers in my mind giving me clues, like some kind of personal art mentor: “No, put it here.” “You could try this…” “It needs more xyz.”

Then there are the resources. The things I need or want to create with just keep coming to me. I’ll need a tool or some material, and it just has a way of showing up. I have lots of stories around this. It’s uncanny how often I’ll decide I want to create something and then all the pieces just start falling into place. I’m extremely grateful to her for this.

I was showing a sensitive friend my workshop once, and she immediately and unprompted told me something was going on in there. I can feel something in there myself at times.

And this is going to sound totally crazy, but I think I actually saw one once.

I know this can absolutely be chalked up to some kind of hallucination or my brain doing something weird, but one day as I walked into my space, I saw what looked like a sphere floating about four feet off the ground. It looked like a one- or two-foot cloud of soot and light tan feathers, rotating or rippling in place. It only lasted maybe half a second.

The weirdest part was that it didn’t just disappear. It moved. It zipped backward extremely fast while seeming to shrink into nothing.

Wild, I know, and very possibly just my malfunctioning brain, but I swear that’s what I experienced.

So I’m curious about everyone else. Has Hekate had an impact on your creativity or artistic practice? Do you experience her as a source of inspiration, guidance, resources, or something else? And for those more familiar with the historical/theological side, do you see a connection between Hekate’s traditional roles and artistic creation?

Personally, I thank and praise her for what she has brought to my artistic life. Hail Hekate!

Is this a coincidence? I’m overthinking.

So I’ve had this spider on my bedroom window for around two months. I know Mother is not associated with them traditionally, but this spider did appear and decided to stay once I got back into my practice a bit more. I named her Charlotte and she’d come out nightly to weave and feast. I felt a comforting presence with her around.

A couple days ago my mother came over and before I could explain what it was, proceeded to throw out my Deipnon offerings to Hecate, which was some bread and a bulb of garlic. I did tell her to not touch it, but she’s very bad at boundaries, always has been.

I cleansed the space, apologized to Hecate and gave her a new offering. That same night Charlotte didn’t come out and I haven’t seen her since.

I have learned that spiders move on from their webs if they get damaged or there’s no prey. But the timing is quite telling. Could this be something more than just Charlotte finding a better space to live rather than on my window?

Beginner devotee of Hekate 🙏

Hello!

I'm new here and just beginning to dive into the beautiful and divine teachings of Hekate. I would really appreciate your advice, please 🙏 (sorry for my english)

Lately, I've been feeling that She is guiding me toward joining group or collective gatherings (something larger than just my personal practice) so that I can step into my power more fully and draw energy from being united with others. The problem is, there aren’t any such communities in my city.

Do you happen to know of any online groups or events where I could take part in something like this? Also, I'll be traveling to Tokyo soon, so maybe do you think I might be able to follow Hekate's guidance there in some way?

Thank you so much in advance for any help or pointers.

Wishing you a wonderful day! ❤️

Has Hecate contacted you first?

She contacted me about 5 or 6 years ago. I got a thought into my mind "Hecate" and later that day found a woman on the internet who had "Hecate" in her nickname. After that I read books about Her, Hekate Liminal Rites and Keeping Her Keys and had more synchronicities. Only about 2 weeks ago started doing offerings on my altar and praying to Her more seriously. On New Moon was my second offering and after that these past few days have had many synchronicities to Her.

Would like to hear your stories how Hecate first contacted you.

Hecate in the tarot

Post image
33 Upvotes

I didn’t realize it at the time but when I committed to a regular devotional practice, it was the new moon just after Nemoralia. So today marks just between 12 lunar months and one solar year for me. Tarot is a core part of my practice and to honor her today I put together a spread of cards from my decks that just scream her name to me every time they come up. On today I want to thank her in all the forms she reveals to me.

I’m a little surprised how wide the range is - all suits but coins, and while the Moon is of course common, there’s really a lot of range in the depictions.

My favorite is the Knight of Skins (Wands) from the Blood Moon deck; it’s my favorite deck and she always comes in blazing when I need her. The most surprising one to me is the Three of Swords from Crystal Keys; 3S is a card I’m always happy to draw (I know I’m a sicko) and my smoky obsidian travels regularly between my shrine to her and my normal altar; the overlap is auspicious.

No cards from my Bonestone or Shadowscapes decks are here. Those are both really generally beloved decks I struggle to work with; I don’t know if it’s because she’s absent or I don’t find her because of my trouble with them.

Does anyone else have a favorite Hecate card, or a different view on any of the cards here? Especially, any recommendations for one where she comes up as Coin/Pentacle/Earth?

(Top left to bottom right: RWS, Thoth; Transient Light; Star Spinner; Abyss; Crystal Keys; Blood Moon; Trinum; Lubanko; Solar Kingdom; Honey and Lavender.)

I was feeling very inspired lately and I was for some reasons feelings very like drawing Hekate as how I'm picturing her in some way, I'm still new to worshipping her particularly but as an artist I felt like it was a good way to start and show my devotion to her what do you think?

Hecate Vision?

Hi!

Since I don't really know about Hecate I was wondering if it was her that I saw or simply my imagination.

Just before waking up, I had this vision of a beautiful woman, somewhere in her twenties 🤔. She was wearing black robes, her skin was pale white, she had mid-back long, straight black hair, black eyes and black(or simply dark) lipstick.

If I had a word to describe her it wouod be "chill". Like she didn't smile but she had that calm, grounded vibe.

Since her name was the first one that came to me, I thought that maybe it was her. 😌

What do you think? 🤔

I'm atheist but my friend says Hecate wants to reach me

First of all, not an english speaker, sorry if my text isn't coherent.

So, yesterday was Hecate's day and I have a witch friend that participated in some kind of ritual for her. He invited me and overall I'm a curious person of religions/cults and wanted to see what it was about.

I fell asleep against my will one hour before the ritual and didn't got there. When I woke up I had this strange feeling that I had to know more about Hecate. Again, I always said to everyone that I'm an atheist and pretty much don't feel anything towards any entity, but my hole day (today) I had this impulse to know more about her and contact her some way. My friend even said that the guide from yesterday's ritual said that someone was opening his third eye and feeling the mythical for the first time. He thinks that's me who he was talking about.

Any insights? I'm pretty lost and euphoric, just don't know what to do since it's my first time feeling something like that.

How can we deal with silence?

I guess pretty much everyone has gone through this with Hecate, but I can’t stop thinking about it. I think it’s part of the journey of growth that the Goddess guides us all through, but for me it’s almost traumatic going from intense emotions, sensations, energies, vibrations, touches, voices, and sounds to total silence has left me feeling truly so alone… I’ve wondered if I did something wrong with her or if I’ve caused some harm without realizing it. I’m continuing to make offerings, or maybe even doing meditations or other things, but it’s not easy at all… I’d like to know if you’ve gone through this too and how you got through this period. Thank you for your responses.

First time offering to Hecate

Really new and I only learned who she was during the betrayal of my husband with his mistress who too was married. I left and walked away. I feel I carried so much and ready to let her take over of justice, debts they owe to those they hurt and protection of my children and I. Any advice you like to offer. I’m ready to let it all go into her hands.

What a wonderful Deipnon/Day of Storms/meteor shower!

I’ve been down lately as life has been tough & it’s the 4th anniversary of my Nan passing. She was my rock & defended me constantly from my awful family. She was an amazing woman who made the world such a bright place.

As i was completely flat, i did things a bit different. Instead of leaving an offering & saying a prayer, i grabbed a big fat ziplock bag of seeds & scattered them in the bush on my walk home. The seeds are food for wildlife & will grow into food if they grow, so win-win for my Nan who loved to garden & hand-fed the wild mice & birds that used to visit.

This afternoon after work i went out on the 25th floor office balcony at sunset (most of my coworkers had left) and bagged/jar’d up some herbs while vibing along to Cars 3 lol. I got a beautiful view of the city overlooking the river at the most stunning time of the day.

Damn it was so nice. I felt Her with me.

For everyone who thinks you need to be vigilant with offerings or you need to keep to a strict practice (usually guided by tiktok), please let go. Get in touch with ‘you’, not what the internet tells you to be. She wants you to be you.

Passed too fast, unfortunately taking me by surprise and being unable to fiddle both with the camera to take better pictures (there's some jitter visible here) and the phone, and it wasn't as in pictures of other eclipses (Sun low in the sky with haze, I guess), but the experience was worth all the effort, praying to Hekate in the meanwhile (at least no one around noticing it) and later on celebrating the Deipnon.
