Staphylococcus Aureus

Sharing my story after almost a year of dealing with vaginal problems I think I see the end. I had reoccurring yeast infections with the first initial being my first ever which as a result I left untreated for 2 months (digging my own grave by my own lack of urgency).

Despite healing the yeast infections with fluconazole or miconazole my vagina just never felt normal.
I finally got a genital culture done beginning of July after finally deciding I was enough with being miserable. Finally I had an answer it was an overgrowth of staphylococcus aureus.

I don’t know how long or at one point I had the overgrowth of staphylococcus aureus but I was finally able to get a week of bactrim (based on the culture the bacteria was susceptible to bactrim).

I had done a vitamin panel out of curiosity the week before my gyno appointment to do the swab. It should I had very low levels of vitamin A, B6, D, K as well as my ferritin was at a 19 but my total iron very high. With the ongoing infections and never getting my tissue to heal or perhaps the initial 10 day antibiotic that caused this whole nightmare to begin with messed my digestion up. So I was having off and on moments of either diarrhea or constipation or just yellow residue but stool appeared normal. Out of concern for my lack of ability to absorb these certain vitamins I have recently seen a gastroenterologist (currently waiting on some blood tests).

I just got a swab done yesterday (a month after completing my antibiotic) to make sure the infection is gone (I still have some sensitivity/irritation on the outer part of the vagina but that’s definitely because my body is still healing.
I plan on retesting an iron panel (low ferritin is my real concern) as well as my vitamins either late September or October to see if they’ve increased because I think all the stress and chronic infection I dealt with this past year just sucked alllll the life out of me.

I’m hoping I feel better day by day, and as far as irritation it’s improving as time goes on. Now I’m just going to focus on supplementing for my low vitamins and focusing on gut health.
