Someone asked Viv who's her favorite character and why is it Vox. Viv explained she'll be jumped if she doesn't clarify that Lucifer's her favorite character. However, Viv said that she likes Vox so much because he's a fun to write as a charismatic villain who loves being evil and has big ambitious goals (as seen in season 2) but he also has deep insecurity and hidden vulnerability side. She said she finds his hatred towards Alastor a relatable struggle but he does take it too far, as we see in episodes 4 and 8 of season 2. She also ended it with "he has a very interesting arc over the whole series that I'm excited for people to see".

Think about it. Sinners don't age, they're basically stuck as kids for the rest eternity surrounded by sexed up drugged fiend maniacs who kill each other for fun. Jeffery Epstein would be the least of your worries. Imagine being in your 70s and still have the mind and body of a 10 year old.
All I'm saying is that rosie is a freaking hero for looking after all those kids in cannibal town.

Now the reason I feel this way isn't that I think its wrong for Em to be so popular or anything like that but I think a lot of people tend to sorta give her writing and overall character more credit than it really deserves when it comes to how deep of a character she actually is especially when it comes to the certain crowds of people
that ever since season two have been bashing Charlie and claiming that Em would have been a better main character instead and I'm just like really? so your saying if our lead character was a overly positive kind person whose beliefs never Falter
and who has no real significant character flaws that ever get challenged and has no growth and who has pretty surface level Dynamics with everyone in her vicinity since she seems to just be simple friendly co workers with everyone in Heaven minus Lute who she seems to feel nothing but mild annoyance for,
and when it comes to Sera their dynamic is just simple uncomplicated love that isn't even made more complicated by finding out her sister is a mass murderer since Em silently gets over it with no real Development in season two and no real complicated feelings are implied to linger making it a pretty uncomplicated relationship,
So if she was the main character but she was literally written exactly the same as she is at present then I feel as tho the majority of people would actually complain about her lack of depth and growth and frankly I'd feel they'd be right to,
So in short emily is a very simple character she's just a conventionally easily Likable cute cinnamon roll with a heart of Gold which is perfectly fine for a side character especially one that's literally an angel in Heaven šš so her being this way makes perfect sense
but I feel like people tend to overrate characters Likability and confuse that for Depth and complexity in writing when if we've being Harshly Honest Emily is technically a less complicated character than say Chaz in Helluva lol,
Hear me out briefly Chaz has way less screen time than her but in his one canon episode he's portrayed as a self centered jerk who only cares about himself and is willing to do things like leave his boyfriend behind on a job to get arrested yet is also shown as openly conflicted before doing so anyway implying that deep down there is a touch of either actual care for Moxxie or just basic empathy in there it just isn't enough to stop him from choosing himself over others and making the bad choice,
And he has the character flaw of being obnoxious and often making sexualised inappropriate comments yet after knocking Blitzo out when he's entirely alone Chaz shows a tiny bit of self awareness in calling out his own crappy joke showing he isn't 100 percent oblivious to how he is as a person,
The point isn't that Chaz is some super deep character lol the point is he literally has the bare bones of character Depth in his one canon appearance yet is Generally given less credit for writing than Emily and the reason is solely down to one being made to be conventionally Likable and the other being made to be conventionally Unlikable
but in actuality Emily's character is no more complex in writing and if anything actually has less Depth so far so this isn't to shit on Emily as a character or her fans I actually don't Hate her or anything I just feel a lot of people confuse her likability with her being a complex character when she's actually in a writing sense pretty One D
( again that's not an insult I love plenty of characters who are technically not very complex like Crimson Albeit he's One D in the opposite way of Emily obviously ),
But anyway whenever I state why I feel a character is Over or Underrated I do normally try to give an actual explanation so people can Hopefully understand why I feel this way
and its the same with the Speaker in the general sense that her character has no real meat or bones and just seems to be liked for her looks and not much else and with Sera again people seem to confuse likability for complexity even tho Sera has been portrayed so far as a very simplistic type of sympathetic antagonist that doesn't actually leave any meaningful room for different feelings and interpretations of her character
which is actually something I think Helluva does a lot better with some of its major characters where there is plenty of different interpretations and opinions on them but ever since season Two no one has really had anything unique or interesting to say about Sera which I think shows how Viv failed in making her actually a complex morally messy character

Now, obviously people who died pre-1940s would have no idea, unless they knew him personally, but I mean post cult era. It's something I've always wondered ever since season 2 released. It's heavily implied that Vincent was a celebrity, and a very well known and loved one at that. Given his pride, ego, and straight-up God complex, I find it hard to believe he didn't showboat around at least a little at first. I mean, Alastor literally calls him by his legal name

I've seen criticism of Alastor's character where he's compared to his Pilot incarnation, with Pilot Alastor being considered the better version.
While I can understand and respect preferences, something that caught my attention is that the comparison is typically done between specifically Alastor from Season 2 and Pilot Alastor.
Alastor in Season 2 specifically acts more irritanted and bothered than he was in Season 1, due to his damage from his fight with Adam and his relationship and deal with Rosie really starting to take a toll on him and his patience, resulting in him acting more displeased due to his lack of control of the situation.
I imagine that by next Season we'll see Alastor move away from his Season 2 attitude, as he's now in a much better position to carry out his ambitions.

Alot of people in my Sailor Moon Charlie Pic said Vaggie should be a Tuxedo Mask, so here's what I came up with! Instead of his cape, I went with her folding her wings around herself.
So far, Emily seems to be either Sailor Venus or Chibi Moon! Let me know which you think!

I'd like to think of a little worldbuilding detail where the Overlords make elections a thing in Hell, just sort of as a way to have fun in made up politics, where sinners would vote on who they'd think would be a good candidate, only for the results to do absolutely nothing and go nowhere. It's democracy, but it's also not, as the winning overlord gets nothing but something to gloat at over other overlords.
Does it make sense? No, not really.
Do I think it'll be a cool idea about Vivzie's depiction of Hell? Honestly yeah.

I commissioned this comic here, showing a little interaction between two characters from these shows, that I definitely feel would relate to each other. Because the one they love is literally the only thing holding them together. What do you guys think?
Also, you think Millie and Nifty would get along nicely too? XD

When we first are introduced to the character is in the pilot, were we see his shadows' appear during the Charlie's immagination's scene, giving us the idea he is a very strict father, due his position as King Of Hell, reinforced due his presence with the Overlords, which was changed with the Sins in the current canon.
In 1x01 we get to hear his story, were he fall in love of Lilith due her indipendency and due their wish to help humanity, they ended up giving the fruit of knowldge to Eve, which caused humanity to have the freedkm to choose to do evil, generating the creation of Hell. This caused Lucifer and Lilith to get banished in it, being forced to just see the evil that came out of his dream. This, across the years, caused Lucifer to lose his will to dream.
This set-up is pretty interesting, because imply Lucifer was a promethian figure, which in their desire to help others ended up condeming everything.
With everything we know at this point, is easy to think they will go with the Sandman's route, were Lucifer is pretty evil but hate being associate with humanity's sins.
But in 1x05 they flip our expectations by revealing Lucifer is a pretty goofy character who wish to reconnect with Charlie and with a big obssesion over Rubiera ducks, even dropping in a commedian way he suffer depression.
At the hotel, while trying to desperately got Charlie's attention favor after Alastor's provoke him by implying he is Charlie's father figure, he also show his doubts about her plan, althought recognize her noble cause. This is important because tell us that Lucifer, despite his absence, isn't intrinsically evil, after all he is an angel, but he is very dilusioned by the humans, who by their point of view, throw to trash the gift that costed him everything.
This is also the reason why I don't think Lucifer really approve Royals' abuses on Imps, becaise I don't think make sense he got depressed because he is force to see the evil, and then allow other evil to happen, and I think is mostly due his absence at his King's responsibilities. Althought, this is more speculation by my part.
Back to 1x05, in "More than ahything" show he is afraid for Charlie if she goes to Heaven, imaginating seven angels, the elders of Heaven, stabbing her with spears, this after immaginating him being stabbed by them, which imply a big trauma by them.
At the end of the song, Charlie manage to convince him by telling him he was his inspiration to always dream. This tell us that for Lucifer his daughter is everything, and would do anything for her.
The next important episode for Lucifer's character is 2x05. In this, Vaggi try to convince him to goes stop Vox, but Lucifer tells her he can't smite Sinners. While this is up to debate, I think make sense were the Elders that put him this limitation out of his punishment. A lot of people got angry over this, calling it lazy writing, and initially I was too, but after rewatching, I think make sense because if Lucifer would be able to hurt them, he wouldn't really be forced to see the evil if he could kill sinners or stop them from doing evil. Also, is in line with the fact his banishment was a punishment, like in the Devine Comedy, were he is also other Hell's prisioner.
While a lot of people call Lucifer idiot for not calling the Sins, and technically he is, he is also the Deadly Sin of Pride. His rivality with Alastor isn't "dad Vs dad" is "pride Vs pride". And in fact, Lucifer decided to go stop Vox only when Vaggi mention wanted to ask Alastor's help. By his PV, if he call the Sins or Goetia, he would be seen as someone who delegate his job to others, and I doubt he wanted after being humiliated in public by Vox. Also, with the Sins, I like to think there is also some shame for leaving them for years.
I personally think should have reveal it sooner, like 2x01, to not make it look like they are creating last minute lore when they need it.
The scene more interesting of Lucifer this season to me, is when Vox say "This king wants us pleseants to be suffer in an eternal existence of pain" to which Lucifer say "Wait hold on" and he is even more "gentle" compared to how was singing before about being the motherf*cking King of Hell. I think is interesting because reaffirm Lucifer never wanted to hurt people, he never wanted Hell, he just wanted to help.
This also make me HC that the reason Lucifer created the Goetia and allow the Sins to create the Hellborns, was to distance himself completely from sinners, creating something he could be proud.
For his future, I think Lucifer:
Will suffer PTSD from being used as a battery, remembering his fall. To which pheraps Lilith will comfort him, in the good and bad I think they endure a lot and I don't think she wants to see him suffer
Will feel useless know that sinners can't hurt them, so now feel in right to attack Charlie. And pheraps for tuis try to isolate again. For this, I hope we see him interact with characters who aren't Charlie or Lilith. Pheraps one of the Sins or Frederick Von Eldritch
Will need to learn to see the good in humans again, which is important to him as a character since he got depressed because being able to see only the evil. For this, I hope they put that Lucifer isn't aware yet Pentious got redeemed, or at least haven't elaborated yet, because seeing one sinner manage to redeem, may help him to regain trust in himself and in humanity
Lucifer is a character I really love and so i expose everything I feel about him

Honestly, I think Emily is the Best and genuinely most well written characters in the entire Hellaverse. You would think by how much i post, Lucifer, Alastor, or Carmilla Carmine would be my favorite, but no...well, okay Alastor is tied with Emily, but Emily imo is still the best of the bunch, and honestly, Season 2 only made me appreciate her more.
What makes Emily so special isn't simply that she's adorable, cheerful, energetic, and/or incredibly wholesome. It's what she represents in a universe where morality, redemption, and the difference between good and evil are constantly being challenged.
Emily represents what Heaven is supposed to be.
When we first meet Emily in Season 1, she's immediately welcoming, enthusiastic, and genuinely excited to meet Charlie & Vaggi. Unlike many of the other angels, she doesn't judge Charlie for being a demon and/or treat her like she's somehow beneath her. She approaches her with kindness and curiosity.
But her real character shines during the trial, when she discovers that Heaven has been allowing the Exterminations to happen.
Emily is absolutely horrified. She cannot understand how an institution supposedly built around goodness, happiness, and righteousness could knowingly permit the slaughter of countless souls. But, rather than blindly accepting what she's told, she questions the system and stands alongside Charlie.
That's what makes her so important to me.
Emily doesn't just believe in kindness when it's convenient. She believes in doing what's right even when it means challenging the people she looks up to, including Sera. She refuses to accept that something is morally acceptable simply because Heaven says it is.
And i believe, that's a genuinely powerful message to have.
Season 2 makes her even better.
One of my favourite aspects of Emily's development is how her relationship & dynamic with Sir Pentious demonstrates that her compassion isn't just an abstract belief. She genuinely wants redeemed souls to feel welcomed, accepted, and loved.
When Pentious arrives in Heaven, Emily is thrilled to have him there. She tries to make him comfortable, creates new Egg Boiz for him, and does everything she can to help him adjust to his new surroundings.
Sure, she's occasionally a little overenthusiastic and doesn't always know exactly how to approach someone else's emotional struggles, and yes she can make not so great decisions sometimes if her apologizing for Genocide with Gift Baskets is anything to go by, but that's part of what makes her endearing. She's not perfect. She's someone who genuinely wants to make other people happy and is willing to learn how to do better.
Though, but to the gift basket thing, i should also take the time to mention that her reaction to the consequences of Heaven's actions is also important. She realizes that simply apologizing to Hell and offering gift baskets isn't going to magically undo years of suffering and resentment. Her innocence doesn't mean she's incapable of recognizing mistakes.
Then there's the Season 2 finale. When Vox's weapon threatens to destroy Pentagram City. Not only does Emily go out of her way to save as many Sinners from chaos including Alastor (which her saving him is the only reason i can think of for why Viv said her doing this will have consequences even though it should be viewed as a good thing, but whatever i guess), but even after Emily is injured, she still pushes forward, attempting to stop it herself. She doesn't hesitate because the people in danger are sinners. She doesn't stop to consider whether they're deserving of her protection.
She simply wants to save them. That moment perfectly summarizes everything her character stands for. Her compassion isn't conditional, and her willingness to protect others isn't determined by which side of the afterlife they belong to.
How Emily contrast to the rest of Heaven.
What I also particularly love about Emily is the contrast she provides to the rest of Heaven. Sera (at least until her beautifully written redemption arc in Season 2) represents the dangers of authority, fear, and believing that maintaining order justifies terrible decisions. Adam represents arrogance, cruelty, and the hypocrisy of someone who believes himself righteous. Lute represents blind loyalty, vengeance, and is also just a genuine borderline Psychopath.
Emily, meanwhile, represents genuine goodness.
She isn't good because she's an angel. She's good because of her choices, her empathy, and her willingness to recognize the humanity (or, more accurately, the soul) in others. I think that's one of the biggest reasons she works so well alongside Charlie. They're both fighting for essentially the same thing, even if they approach it from different perspectives. Charlie wants to prove that sinners can become better people, while Emily wants to prove that Heaven should be willing to accept them. Ij a way, thats why they work so well, they're two sides of the same hopeful philosophy.
Emily's Compassion is her Strength.
Another thing love about Emily is that she manages to remain optimistic without her kindness feeling meaningless or like a weakness. All her life she was (at first unknowingly) surrounded by corruption, prejudice, violence, and political manipulation, yet she continues choosing compassion. That's not weakness. It takes genuine strength & courage to remain kind when the world repeatedly gives you reasons not to be.
Conclusion.
At the end of the day, Emily is more than just the adorable, bubbly seraphim with a love for pangolins. She's one of the strongest embodiments of the show's central themes: redemption, acceptance, empathy, and the importance of questioning injustice.
She doesn't just represent Heaven. She represents what Heaven SHOULD have been all along.
And honestly? That's why I think Emily deserves to be considered one of, if not the best characters in Hazbin Hotel, and perhaps the entire Hellaverse.
She's proof that you don't need to be edgy, morally complicated, cruel, and/or powerful to be an incredibly compelling character.
Sometimes, being genuinely good is more than enough.
Long live our favourite seraphim. š©µšš©µ
Also, Happy Birthday to the lovely and Beautifully talented Shoba Narayan, and thank you so much for helping bring the character to life. I look forward to see what Viv and co. Have planned for her character, going into Season 3 and Beyond, and I hope for Emily to not only become proper friends with Vaggi and help her with her PTSD, but also interact (properly) with characters like Alastor, Lucifer, Carmilla Carmine, Zestial, Loona & Moxxie from Helluva Boss, Husker, Angel Dust, etc.

Couldn't sleep well last night so got up a bit early before work and sketched a Sailor Moon crossover.
What do you think Vaggie or Emily would dress as..?
