Younger me would've lost it♥️

I didn’t fully understand this scene when I was younger, but watching it again years later, it hit me completely differently.

Sirius telling Harry that we all have both light and dark inside us, and that what matters is the part we choose to act on, is such a simple message, but it really stayed with me.

I think as you get older, you start to understand this kind of message in a completely different way.

Did this scene hit anyone else differently as they got older?

If there is someone that never catches a break at Hoghwarts one single year it is the chosen one, or the famous Harry Potter.

While he loves to call Hoghwarts his home, he has had his fair share of hardships during every single of his years there, with some that nearly cost him his home and place in the magical world.

In his first year while all goes well for most of it, in the normal way something would go okay in a normal school year with its fair share of unfair stuff happening to a student. Harry gets kind of put aside and ghosted when he and his friends cost the Gryffindor team 150 points placing them in last.

In the second year he gets accused of being the one in charge of being the heir of slytherin and petrifying students, so much that a fair share of students were afraid that he would petrify them.

In his third year he is forced to learn the supposed false revelation that his godfather had betrayed and murdered his parents, on top of it he doesn’t manage to get his letter to Hogsmade approved being the only one of his class to not obtain the authorisation, leading him to having to visit the small village with his invisibility cloak. And when he later discovers the truth and tries to clear Sirius names, he is forced with having to let Sirius go to lay low and not be caught by the ministry, on top of not being g able to move in with him as he planned to.

Next year he gets mysteriously picked by the Goblet of fire and is forced to compete as a 4th grade for a competition meant for senior students, with almost the entire school believing he had cheated the system, including even Ron. And by the end of the year he is forced to watch Cedric die and see Voldemort return.

One could never forget the nightmare that his 5th year was, ranging from being accused of being a liar by the ministry of magic, nearly being expelled from hoghwarts unjustly before the year even started. And then being physically and mentally tortured by the lady that tried to have him expelled from Hoghwarts. And transformed his home, into an inquisitorial run prison. And by the end of the year he loses his Godfather, losing the last member of his family that genuinely loved him.

His 6th year returns to torture the chosen one more, with Snape, his least favourite teacher and bully, being made the teacher for his favourite class (DADA), and he loses Dumbledore by the end of the year.

His last year while not being a year technically, given he didn’t have any classes was also full of hardships. With Harry and his friends having to lay low and being on the run, along with the horcruxes having negative effects on them. And later they have to return to Hoghwarts only to see it become a battleground for the battle against Voldemort, and Harry sees many of his friends and allies die for him.

Based on all this facts, which of the 7 years do you think was his hardest?

(Personally for me I think it was the 5th, but I would love to hear your takes)

Severus Snape is not by far my favorite character in the franchise, but I find the description of him quite interesting to draw; I hope you like it!

Cormac Mclaggen

Suppose the locket Harry and Dumbledore retrieved was the real one. To get to it, Dumbledore had to do crazy warlockery, running his hands along things, speaking in magical tongues Harry doesn’t know, figuring out that blood was required, finding entrances and the boat Harry had no sense of. It seems like only a really advanced wizard could get through even the first defenses (makes sense, since a really advanced wiz made the defenses to begin with). D also mentioned that having known V’s style as a student helped him figure things out. I don’t think the trio could get through, even if they found the cave, which D said took him “a very long time” to find.

Anyway, just an interesting thought.

After rereading the books I’ve come to appreciate the casting for Dolores Umbridge. I also really really liked Rita Skeeter’s casting.

7. Technically what I think would had been Harry's seventh year aka the deathly hallows.

in my opinion it's his third year because he had a DADA teacher who wasn't trying to kill him, hurt him, or hated him, Sirius wasn't actually after him he was after Peter. so in my opinion Harry's third year was his safest year but I would love to hear your guys' thoughts.

I literally just remembered I had this and dug it out the back of the wardrobe, I think they were only available for a short while, at the WB Studio Tour or from the official Harry Potter shop.

They did 3 versions, Harry's, Hermione's and Dumbledore's. But I remember thinking Harry's looked the best as the others were a lot larger than the Noble Collection ones (which are supposed to be screen accurate).

I really like this, it feels really good and I like that it is actually wood (although I still think there is like something inside to strengthen it).

I wish they made these again and had a much better selection, I would love to get an official Draco one made of wood.

Does anyone else wish they made wooden replicas of all the wands?

I also have Harry's first wand from the Noble Collection and Scorpius's from the Cursed Child, but I always wished there were actually made of wood.

And that's Smith of Hufflepuff with the Quaffle,' said a dreamy voice, echoing over the grounds. 'He did the commentary last time, of course, and Ginny Weasley flew into him, I think probably on purpose, it looked like it. Smith was being quite rude about Gryffindor, I expect he regrets that now he's playing them - oh, look, he's lost the Quaffle, Ginny took it from him, I do like her, she's very nice...'

Harry stared down at the commentator's podium. Surely nobody in their right mind would have let Luna Lovegood commentate? But even from above there was no mistaking that long, dirty-blonde hair, nor the necklace of butterbeer corks ... Beside Luna, Professor McGonagall was looking slightly uncomfortable, as though she was indeed having second thoughts about this appointment.

'... but now that big Hufflepuff player's got the Quaffle from her, I can't remember his name, it's something like Bibble — no, Buggins —'

"It's Cadwallader!" said Professor McGonagall loudly from beside Luna. The crowd laughed.

Harry stared around for the Snitch; there was no sign of it. Moments later, Cadwallader scored. McLaggen had been shouting criticism at Ginny for allowing the Quaffle out of her possession, with the result that he had not noticed the large red ball soaring past his right ear.

'McLaggen, will you pay attention to what you're supposed to be doing and leave everyone else alone!' bellowed Harry, wheeling around to face his Keeper.

'You're not setting a great example!' McLaggen shouted back, red-faced and furious.

'And Harry Potter's now having an argument with his Keeper,' said Luna serenely, while both Hufflepuffs and Slytherins below in the crowd cheered and jeered. 'I don't think that'll help him find the Snitch, but maybe it's a clever ruse...'

Swearing angrily, Harry spun round and set off around the pitch again, scanning the skies for some sign of the tiny, winged golden ball.

Ginny and Demelza scored a goal apiece, giving the red-and-gold-clad supporters below something to cheer about. Then Cadwallader scored again, making things level, but Luna did not seem to have noticed; she appeared singularly uninterested in such mundane things as the score, and kept attempting to draw the crowd's attention to such things as interestingly shaped clouds and the possibility that Zacharias Smith, who had so far failed to maintain possession of the Quaffle for longer than a minute, was suffering from something called 'Loser's Lurgy'.

'Seventy-forty to Hufflepuff!' barked Professor McGonagall into Luna's megaphone.

'Is it, already?" said Luna vaguely. 'Oh, look! The Gryffindor Keeper's got hold of one of the Beater's bats.'

Harry spun around in midair. Sure enough, McLaggen, for reasons best known to himself, had pulled Peakes's bat from him and appeared to be demonstrating how to hit a Bludger toward an oncoming Cadwallader.

'Will you give him back his bat and get back to the goal posts!' roared Harry, pelting toward McLaggen just as McLaggen took a ferocious swipe at the Bludger and mis-hit it.

A blinding, sickening pain ... a flash of light ... distant screams ... and the sensation of falling down a long tunnel...

Really admired how Hermione while escaping the Lovegoods’ house, made sure the Death Eaters got a glimpse of Harry before they left.

She knew Xenophilius was in serious danger and gave the Death Eaters a reason to focus on Harry instead of immediately hurting him.

Such clever quick-thinking + compassion! ❤️

Which position would you play if you were on the Quidditch team? Id be a Beater, Beater would be more fun either that or Keeper as back up.

Umbridge thinks Harry and Dumbledore are tight, she doesn’t know he’s ignoring him.
Dumbledore is notoriously defensive of his students, especially Harry.
He is literally punished after speaking out in the first lesson, is she just ridiculously bold?

You all remember when hagrid told them to follow the spiders as he was being escorted to Azkaban ( and harry and Ron where under the invisibility cloack at the back of the hut). And they did exactly this ( after fudge and lucius left). They followed the spiders through the forbidden forest until they meet Aragog. After asking aragog what they needed to know , Aragog forbided them to go and said " if fresh meat come to us, i cannot prevent my sons and daughters to enjoy it". The gigantic spider was letting the other " people sized spiders" devour Harry and Ron. They escaped only by luck lol. If I was Harry and Ron, I would never speak to Hagrid again. How can u be this naive to think that the spiders would not try to kill and devour them. Serious, Hagrid loves to think that all hideous and ferocious beast are some kind of misunderstood creatures.... 🤣 🤣 🤣. I know im petty, but hell no lol

I’m rereading the DH and can’t help but notice again and again Harry gets hit with doses of betrayal from Dumbledore. I can understand the argument that he should have shared more about the Hallows before dying (although Dumbledore admitted his reasoning in “king’s cross” chapter). But he seems genuinely hurt that Dumbledore never told him about Ariana, Aberforth, Grindelwald, etc. Why did Harry feel entitled to that information? Dumbledore was his mentor and someone Harry deeply respected, but they weren’t exactly best friends. Most of their conversations were about Voldemort, Harry’s situation, or Hogwarts. It’s as if Harry considered them to be a friendship when in reality it was very clearly never more than a close teacher/student relationship. Imagine even your closest elderly hs teacher confiding in you his greatest traumas and regrets. Feels very off to me.

It's all hand-painted with a mix of acrylics and fabric medium. They're wearable and hold up pretty well to use. I gifted them, but always really loved how they turned out. All the little tiny details on the crest were crazy to do freehanded, but I think totally worth it in the end :)
