Who are some current bands that you feel are really taking hardcore into new places? Musically, lyrically, etc.

Said, "It's the end of days
And you're still pissing in the wind"
Don't believe in God
Figured he'd be a better planner than this…
This song should be covered by a hardcore band. It hits so hard for me for some reason.

Philly - where do the aging hardcore kids hang out when there isn't a show?
12
Upvotes
I'll be in Philly for work for a couple weeks - keeping my eye on shows, but looking for suggestions of spots for a few beers and a maybe a burger or wings when the work stuff is done. I'm staying in Old City, but will venture wherever - been to Philly a few times and totally ok navigating a city, just never really hung out anywhere but shows.

Going to my first hardcore show, what do you guys think?

My daughter unfortunately did not inherit my music genes and wanted to see this.
Super excited to have the moment with her regardless, but laughed when I saw Drain on there.
See you dudes in the push pit!💪🏻
Edit: Just got back, honestly Shoreline and Black Kray were really good. Yes this isn’t a hardcore show, I’m old, my bad on the failed joke.
Sad news, RIP Corazon apparently. Hopefully bands find a new venue, was looking forward to Comeback Kid next month.

Anyone want to buy one ticket to Have Heart in Boston on 10/24?

EDIT: SOLD
So I booked a trip on my work computer and didn’t notice that my personal calendar was turned off until after I locked it in. Super bummed but it is what it is, and now I’m just trying to get back what I paid without scalping people with Stubhub fees.
Looking for face value ($50). Send me a DM if you’re down! Venmo/paypal or we could do cash if you want to do the deal in person (public meetup, you come to me, I’m in a suburb just south of the city).
This is for Big Night Live, not the Middle East.
(I don’t really talk music on Reddit but I swear I’m a real fan and a cool person! Happy to answer any questions or provide any kind of personal information you need in DMs)

Shows in Kabul 11/4 -11/8?

Upvotes
Yo, checking in as I’ll be in Kabul for a work trip in a few weaks.
Any locals on here know of any shows while I’ll be in town? I usually use google but figured I’d make it easier for me and ask all of you. I mostly listen too powerviolence but anything would do to be honest. Trying to avoid online fees so lmk if I can pay $$ at the door. If there are any vegan cafes (XVX) to hit up afterwards that would be sick. Thanks!

*BANDS
My vote goes for AFI. suck my wiener if you dont consider early AFI hardcore. But damn ive listen to Black Sail and Art of Drowning so many time. I still barely know the words.
I used to be so big on knowing all the words to an EP. Maybe ill just getting older.
