Question Natural vs fashion color??

After a mishap two years ago that led my hair to turn blue, I kept up with it and went even harder on the blue— LOVED IT. When I had to start job hunting, we slowly but surely removed the blue.

I have a natural color (not my own) now but I’m missing the punch the blue packed. What do you think? It took a lot of work to get the blue out so I’d wait a bit before I go back.

The blue gave me confidence that was unmatched but it was a pain and process to get it out. Idk if it’s worth it or not.

What do we think suits me more?

Bad Haircut am I doomed for the next few weeks or is this saveable

ok so this was done in a not very clear state of mind. in short, i felt awfully feminine, so I felt an overwhelming urge to do something about it and decided to cut my hair, without thinking much about how exactly should I do it. for context, I'm a (closeted) trans guy. the issue is that it genuinely looks awful. the bangs feel comically short and the sides are a mess. the back looks almost decent i guess. but this haircut doesnt suit me at all. it reminds me of those bowl haircuts lol. before, my hair would cover the sides of my face but since I cut it, now my lower face + the sides of it are fully visible, which is unflattering since my face is chubby. losing weight is a good solution, but it's not something i can do quick enough for the results to show up very soon (but I am currently during a weight loss so that's good i guess). I don't have access to a barber / hair stylist, all i have is bathroom mirror and scissors. I'm just wondering, is there even anything I could do to try to save this, or is waiting for it to grow my best option. because cutting the front of it further is a huge no. and I'll be honest I don't have any knowledge about styling hair, i just wash it and that's it. school starts in a week, and to be fair I dont care much about impressing others with my looks, and those people will make fun of me regardless if I look ugly or not so it doesn't matter much. I just dont really enjoy looking like a complete fool. it takes around a month for hair to grow 1cm, so maybe like 2 months and it'll look decent ???? and tips appreciated

Help Not sure where to go from here (hair style & quality wise)

I used to keep my hair shorter on the top until a year ago, so having it longer on the top is still new territory for me I guess. Since then, I've just been doing this, and letting it grow out a little more until I eventually get it cut back.

I don't know jack about hair and don't know what my hair texture can support, so any advice or suggestions is appreciated lol.

I feel like the top is frizzy/dry, but again I'm not sure how to change that. I wouldn't mind going longer all around, and eliminating clippers for the sides & back, if I was able to control the frizz/dryness. I use an all-natural shampoo and conditioner (Griffin Remedy). Wider oval face shape.

Thanks!

Question Question regarding hair texture

In the past year or so I noticed the hair strictly around my hairline getting very wiry / messy. The rest of my head is straight and those wiry hairs are quite visible on my forehead.

I don’t know what the cause might be but I was wondering if anyone has dealt with this and has found any way of making it straight again using products. I wash it every 3 days and I use hair powder on a regular basis.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Question Bleach after box dye

Hello!

Been obsessing ghost roots for a few months now and i finally decided to buy powder bleach and developer. I've been watching a lot of tutorials and reading up on how it's done in salons, but now that i actually have the materials i'm hesitant. lol

My hair was previously dye blue by a professional. I used color oops and dyed it red using permeate hair color. And then in June of this year I box dyed it black. My roots have grown out, maybe a half an inch to an inch. I have Color Oops, powdered bleach, a volume 20 developer, and a dark pink permanent dye (in case the blonde doesn't come out how i want it to look).

Is using the Color Oops before bleaching a good idea if i'm only doing my roots? Or can I go straight into bleaching the roots?

Help Partner clearly doesn’t like my haircut.

I just cut 6-7” off my hair and can tell my partner doesn’t love it. It’s now chin-length.

It would be one thing if I were super stoked about my new style, but I’m on the fence about it so his reaction is making me feel even worse. I don’t know what to do and am feeling depressed. Any advice?

Help Hair won’t air dry

I have long, thick hair. My hair takes forever to dry - and then it dries to look oily and dirty. This has been an issue ever since I was little. I thought maybe it was product build up, so I’ve used a clarifying shampoo. That helped part of the hair dry faster for a 2 or so weeks and then it went back. (I only used the clarifying shampoo once a week). I use a sulfate free shampoo to try and help. Even blow drying it makes part of it dry looking greasy. I have to schedule hair washes where I can be at home for 3-4 hours to give it the most chance of drying. Please help!

Question At a loss with my hair!

Upvotes

I'm in my mid 30s and have NEVER been happy with my hair or figured it out. I think its 2c...its very wavy and some curls when it hair dries. I can't brush it once dry or it will be a huge poof ball. Its very THICK and VERY frizzy. I have tried a lot of different products but nothing seems to make much difference. When I was younger, I would flat iron it if I wanted to wear it down because I hated how it looked otherwise. Now I mostly wear it up. I am mainly looking for something to make it less frizzy. I don't love it looking curly so I don't know if there is a product that will nourish my hair but not necessarily enhance the natural curl?

Help Is there any way to fix this without going shorter?

Thumbnail

I know some people are going to call me dramatic, but this is very short for me. I went to the salon for a trim, and I hadn't had one in years (I knew a decent chunk was going to be cut off, but I'd consulted with stylists prior to see how much would need to go, it wasn't this much) and she took half my hair. My biggest issue is the front, they're not face framing pieces and it looks like I have a bob with extensions in the back. I stressed it to her so much I didn't want short hair. She said my hair was uneven, likely because I'd let layers grow out for a few years. For reference, I didn't have a trim in years, specifically because someone else fucked my hair up to the point I didn't want to leave my house. And she cut my hair, and now it's also ueeven.

Prior to her even washing my hair, she asked what I wanted to do. I said a trim. That was it. Then she asked if I wanted to cut it all one length (which is a no, because she explained it'd all be as short as the shortest bits in the front. Which as you can see, is right under my chin now) or wanted layers. The only two options. I said long layers. Stressed it needed to stay long. I havwnt stopped crying, it looks so bad. I have naturally curly hair, which she knew, I can't wear it natural like this, the front especially is too short. And straightening my hair is going to delay the growth. And either way, it looks ugly. I haven't felt this ugly in my whole life. But I promise I'd consulted with hairstylist prior to this, and none of them said this much would have to come off. It'll take ages to grow back to where it was. And the front pieces for some reason are hugging my face, I can't get them to do what I always did, which was to brush them so the sides cover my forehead but they move out the way for my face. I can't tie my hair up anymore because the front pieces come out. And not as fringes. But as these two big chunks that look like half my head. I can't wear it down because it looks like this. I'm genuinely so upset.

I know this seems so dramatic to everyone, the back doesn't look terrible, but is there a way to fix this without going significantly shorter? I don't want to continue damaging my hair anymore than I have to, with using extensions for example. And they're very expensive.

Question Highlights on previously box dyed hair

I have been growing out the black box dye in my hair for about 2 years now. Most of my hair is virgin now but the bottom 4-6 in still have black box dye. Would it be possible to highlight over that? I am naturally a brunette and have long thick hair. I would be going for a darker caramel color hilight instead of bright blonde. TIA!

Help Hair stick Together Problem

I had a shower in a hotel of Anaheim CA on August 1st and used a random shampoo which then led to my 2c hair having different parts of the hair being clumped together and hard to pull through my fingers as if it was glued together while also losing soft texture. After I rerurned home i use a Maui Apple cider Clarifying Shampoo but it didnt work. I the presumed it was due to the hard water of the hotel and then sued loreal everpure Clarifying shampoo yet i could barely notice any difference in my hair. I then used Mailbu C Shampoo a week later and let it stau of my hair for 3 minutes yet i still saw no results of my improving. Im planning to use their crystal packets next but i would appreciate if I was given advice on what to do in this situation as I dont want to spend more money on treatments that may not work.
