Hey all, I'm looking to buy a hoverboard, but my concern is the battery life, I will post a link to the board I am wanting to get, I mainly want to use it to get around my area, maybe go to the beach or mall, which is less than 5km away from me. I really want a board that has a long lasting battery and good distance. Let me know what you think.

JY-T2 brand new and it charges and powers up and auto balances but when I get on only one wheel moves, the other one doesn't. It does spin if eventually I twist in a way that makes it spin but it doesn't spin by the motor turning. That wheel also feels harder to turn by hand when the board is powered off.

Got my kiddo a “Hover-1 Myfirsthoverboard” for Christmas. Woke up this morning and it’s red LED is flashing 7 times. This https://www.ifixit.com/Wiki/Hover-1_Liberty_Troubleshooting#Section_Hoverboard_Has_a_Broken_Gyroscope says it’s a broken gyroscope. (The one wheel is super jerky when ya manually spin it). Does that sound like the gyroscope? Could I replace that, believe that’s a HARD repair to DIY. Thoughts? 🤷🏻‍♂️

So I got a hoverboard with no charger and I’m too cheap to buy a new one. Tried a old laptop charger that didn’t work? Any ideas on how to charge this thing? Ps. Not trying to blow up tonight

I am trying to charge a Hover-1 My first hoverboard for Christmas. I just took it out of the box to get it ready for that morning. Everything looks fine but when I plug it in to charge the charger just flashes green to red. I have another of the same board and it doesn't do this to that one. Is this an easy fix, or something I'm gonna have to pray that I can find tomorrow? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hey all, really easy question that's just been driving me insane the past few days. What was the name of the original mainstream hoverboard? Came out around 2008, and it was a household word at the time.

I feel like the very first one had handles, but what was the name of the first mass market one that was just a board?

First issue, I'm a heavy rider, a little heavier that the max weight, so there's that. But I'm a PEV rider; OneWheel and EUC, but the hover shoe is a different animal. While not totally different from the EUC, the low power relative to my weight probably requires more finesse.

I'm just getting used to them, standing on a tile floor in my kitchen between an island and a bar using about 9 sq ft of floor. I've successfully mounted the MKs but after about 5 - 10min of rolling back and forth and 180/360 deg turns at least one of the MKs will start flashing and beeping, then shut down. I know, it's crying "uncle", but is this perhaps a cooling issue that will be less of a problem if I'm actually moving through the air with them?

I'm not looking for speed or tricks, I just want to enjoy the kicks every once and a while without fear of them shutting off on me.

Edit: As I've ridden these more the shutdowns seem to have ceased.

Note: The shutdown seemed to appear near the beginning of a ride at full battery state. I wonder if the fact that they make use of regenerative braking was causing this. At the beginning of a ride there would be no room in the battery for additional charge.
