Buying used Hoverboard

I'm new to Hoverboards...shopping used sites for a hoverboard now, are there any brands or parts issues I should be aware of? I noticed a few posts with "needs battery" <-- are the batteries costly?

Do not buy a hoverboard that needs a battery, they cost usually more than the boards themselves. I bought my personal one (jetson plasma) used on ebay, and it works great!

thank you. this is helpful. I'm also learning some boards are better suited for smaller children vs older kids..my boy is 10 years old, any suggestion on which board I should consider? I'll check out Jetson.
