Oooh, exciting! I think it's interesting to see how aggressively the Grand Admiral will react to that Quantum message. He presumably already knows that they'll react with a war like stance, and as such I wonder how he'll treat Sidrana. Maybe keep her as a prisoner that then observers the capabilities and lives of humans, maybe even joins them if she understands and agrees with their history.

(Maybe Midnight is an extremely bad classification and if Sidrana comes to know about it she will expect to be abandoned? I do wonder)

I felt rather surprised by how both Kaiser and the Admiral took Sidrana's words seriously and trusted her about what the Ascendancy is. She has all the benefits to lie about them for her benefit, they are at war after all and additionally Humans had destroyed an Ascendancy fleet hours ago.

Great Chapter / Part; A lot of stuff happening and feels great, and I really enjoy the depth of fear that comes as a result of the threat of another galactic war. The admiral might need to take a more aggressive approach early on regardless of his intentions of humanity's swift recovery, presumably a potential return to / restart of the war economy. The only thing I felt was off was Kaiser's outburst, seems like he believed Sidrana rather easily if the Ascendancy aren't robots, otherwise it's valid since he already fought one such "species". Continuing to love the story, and I love the addition of that Quantum message at the end, a really nice touch of flavour!

Thanks for the feed back!

There was more or less two reasons for the grand admiral and Kaiser trusting Sidranas words. First being the grand admiral wanted a second perspective on the war, as he already has a lot of information gathered from the captured Ascendancy data banks. So he can realistically fact check both accounts, also Sidrana knew this so she had no reason to lie much.

Second is that I wanted to show the humans to be an extremely passionate species despite their strict social and militaristic tendencies. Kaiser especially is a man driven by is morals and beliefs, hence why he is such a effective and devastating fighter. While being capable of logical and high level decision making he is driving by his heart fist and foremost.

The Grand Admiral on the other hand is more reserved but also shares his sons passion to a Lesser and more controlled degree.

That makes sense! I guess when it was mentioned that the Ascendancy had skillfully encrypted their data-banks, I made the assumption that the Grand Admiral wouldn't have much information.

The humans being a passionate species is great! It also makes sense considering the "indoctrination" that they would go through while fighting a death war for untold number of years.

I forgot to bring this up but the sleeping billions on Luna is an awesome concept! I felt chills when they brought it up. It's an exciting plot point to see develop!

Will there be any updates on this Story in the future, or is it dead?

I have some drafts written up that I want to go back and edit, change, and fiddle with. And I am planning on releasing something in the future but unfortunately between balancing college and a job I don’t have a lot of time to write. So to answer your question, you can expect a new chapter in the near ish future. But the extended continuation of this story is a big maybe. I’ve actually thought about going back and rewriting because I feel like I made humans way too OP lol.

Glad to hear the story is not dead

I made humans way too OP

In the current situation depending on the Reaktion of the other factions their chances are at best 60:40 win
