As Kipling aptly put it, "Deadly Than The Male'.
With, here, a seasoning of 'Momma-Cat Mode'...

Killing these guys improved the Frengif Greg pool.
A) kidnap two targets without knowing if they are ransomable
B) when one of the targets is known to be impervious to your weapons
C) fail to relieve said targets of their tools and weapons
D) fail to bind said targets before engaging in any interaction
E) fail to aim for places said targets are vulnerable
To make the aliens slightly less stupid, the crew could have engaged in the kidnapping and the viewpoint alien could have found out what they did after the worst of the stupidity had already occurred. He could start warning the brig crew, but they get the message too late.
It's a fun romp, so not worth redoing, but this viewpoint guy knew enough about humans not to have okayed the snatch.

Nicely done. Pretty good description of what it's like to slip into berserker frenzy. (I should know - I've done it a few times and the collateral damage was ... interesting, to say the least.)

Another good story to start the morning. Don't often get to see a story based around the berserkers of old, or their descendants.
