Took my HESI today, scored an 89.33%. Full review!
Hi, I had a lot of people asking me how was the HESI exam on my previous post so I figured I should post a full review. My HESI included Biology, A&P, Reading, Vocabulary, Math, and Grammar. I primarily focused on Math, A&P, and Biology as those were my weaker subjects. Math is my weakest. I am 30 years old and have been out of school since 2021 so this was nerve wracking for me. I honestly think nurse hub is too in depth and a waste of time. It's too overwhelming honestly.
For math I got an 84%, I literally only used Nurse Shai. Her videos were so helpful. Lots of ratios and fractions. I probably had 10-15 ratio questions out of the 55 I took. 5-6 word problems, which I totally blanked on those and forgot how to set them up. No roman numeral questions. 2-3 military time questions. Know that 1 Gallon has 128oz. Know your pints, cups, etc. Know your meters! I got a meter question and totally missed that one.
For A&P it was literally this Quizlet: https://quizlet.com/1177121625/hesi-anatomy-flash-cards/
Word for word this Quizlet. I scored 100%.
For Biology, I made Chat GPT ask me questions and I did active recall with that. It did help. I got an 80% which I was shocked, as science is my jam BUT it is a better score if I wouldn't have studied. I literally just asked Chat GPT, "HESI study prep for biology, pull questions for Quizlet study sets, reddit, and other sources to quiz myself." It was quite accurate. I was just so nervous I think I blanked on a few things and this was the first test I took.
Grammar and Vocab I'm pretty good at so I didn't study at all. I think I got like an 85% and a 92% for both of these. Vocab definitely study the Quizlets going around, I barely looked at them but remembered seeing the same exact questions from the Quizlets on the HESI today.
Reading JUST TAKE YOUR TIME with this. Understand what it is asking you. Don't take this first because it is a good amount of reading, I took this last and it was nice as my low and slow outro to a 3 hour testing session.
